Whats Up Everyone! Welcome to todays video, today we pick up the newest motorcycle for the channel, a brand new Yamaha MT-07! I was super excited to pick up this bike and introduce it to the channel!.

Thank you! The MT is a pretty cool bike, It keeps me on my toes even coming from the world of superbikes, definitely fast off the line.
The MT-07 is quite cramped on the legs, just FYI, age taken into consideration :)

I'm 67 and I tested a 2022 model last year. No problem at all, easy to ride and absolutely comfy.
But I didn't buy one yet because I already own an old MT-03 / 660cc, a BT1100 and a MT-01.
Got a bit of garage goals going on there 😎

@Paramoto959 2WDW is just short for 2wheelsDynoWorks. If your bike hasn't been flashed yet due to the full system exhaust, I highly recommend you check them out and get the ECU flashed. Total game changer with how much better it rides.
Gotcha it’s on my radar 100% but I think I’m going to complete derestricting the bike, air box mod, and high flow air filter before I tune. Just so it’s one and done. 😎
@@Paramoto959 skip high flow filter unless it is a hordepower…. All the others are expensive with literally no performance gain over just ripping the rubber boot off the box! 😉

I got my 21' MT 07 a couple years ago for around 8.6 OTD. Man I wish I had that fancy display that the new ones have! Taking the baffle out too makes the bike significantly louder by a few DB. The droning is not that bad since I wear earplugs when on the highway anyway. In the urban environment, no plugs; it just gives me the giggles every time I twist throttle just a bit!
That screen is the best display I’ve had on any bike I’ve owned and I’ve had bikes worth over twice as much!
This is the exact bike I’m looking to get. This will be my first bike I’ll own and hearing how you talk about it is awesome man! Can’t wait to get mine next month🤙

Gotta love those pulling off the lot butterflies. That's a gorgeous blue. Works so good with the black. That CP2 engine is phenomenal on surface streets and country roads. I'd be whiling to even say it's the best naked middleweight out now. Congrats on your new ride.

I own a 2022 MT-07, all black. I installed a full Leo Vince LV One exhaust and had my ECU flashed. It sounds amazing and the performance increased. There are only three things that I don’t like about the bike. The first thing is that the air filter is a pain in the butt to get to compared to my SV650 and DRZ400SM. You have to remove quite a few bolts, fasteners, and panels. I installed a K&N air filter, so fortunately I won’t have to access it again for a while. The second thing that I don’t like is the location of the horn on the left control panel. It’s in line with the turn signal switch and can accidentally be pressed easily while operating the turn signal. The third thing that I don’t like is the lack of tactile feel of the turn signal switch. There’s no click or anything to let you know when you activate or deactivate the turn signal. You have to look at the instrument display to see if the turn signal is on or off. It feels cheap. Did Yamaha change the location of the horn button and improve the turn signal switch on the 2024?
No it seems like it’s all the same from your bike to mine. Seems like a lot of Japanese bikes have similar setups. It seems like there should be a better set up.

Beautiful ride brother! I picked up the 23' in Matte Raven Black last year as my first bike and I absolutely love it! Can't wait for spring. Stay safe and enjoy! I've done a ton of mods already and to combat the antler mirrors as you mentioned, I went with the Rhinomoto Gen 2 bar end adapters with the CRG Hindsight LS 3" folding bar end mirrors. I have to say, it really transforms the bike. I've also done the TST Industries Tail tidy, the TST integrated tail light as well as the TST Mech GTR front signals. Looks amazing.

If I can summon the courage, I’d like to record my experience learning to ride as a disabled person and post it on UA-cam to maybe inspire someone to ride. I have degenerative spinal disease and suffer from daily chronic pain. I’d have to say the ride from Comox valley to Tofino on the west coast is what I’m looking forward to most. How about you?

My next trip I’m sorta starting to plan is a US North East coast loop using all secondary roads. I want go straight up to New York State then over to Maine and down through all the major cities.
My only problem is wifey wants to do the trip in a car so idk if I’ll be able to make it happen lol

i wish i couldve rode mine home today. still got it home just in the bed of my truck.. first street legal bike but grew up riding everything from 50cc to 450cc, im so excited to own this bike. ive just got to wait a week to get licensed :( at the dealership they said it like 3 different times, in different ways.. "beautiful day out there. are you going to get out on your new bike?" id say "ahh i wish, ive got to get my license first." and they'd say something along the lines of "thats not what i asked. we could care less about that. are you going to get out there and ride that bike today?" and i said "stop tempting me"

Nope, not needed the Akro exhaust is made for this bike so it’s the only one you don’t specifically need to do it.

It was my beginner bike. I still have it even though I moved on to sport/touring heavy bikes. It always brings a smile to my face. It's 1/2 of an FJR all around.

Did you have any riding experience before buying the MT-07? I'm thinking about making this my first bike too. I have 0 riding experience although I've plenty experience with ATVs (4 wheeler) and mountain bikes. I'm taking my MSF course tomorrow.
@@AceGoodheart Finds a used one; you'll probably drop any bike sometime in the first year. I did not find any faults or vises at all with mine as a new rider.

I have a theory that it's okay to buy a used cruiser because cruiser people generally ride cruisers in a moderate manner and they don't usually over rev them because the power is in the low range, but my rule is never buy a sport or naked bike used because people who buy those type of bikes can't resist riding them hard even during the break in period. This video really confirms my belief.

Life. Had to sell it to embark in a new car flipping business. But as you can see, your video popped in my feed cuz I’m looking to get back on a bike soon. It’s just my thing. I have fond memories in mine while I was living in Richmond, VA. Sure you’ll have fun with yours. Best twin cylinder engine ever, hands down.
Sounds great! This is not a beginner bike i would recommend. I rode this bike at demo days last fall. This bike pulls strong and is fast. Rode the Tenere 700 afterwards and it wasnt tuned the same. No where near as fast.

I try to avoid directly recommending any bike to anybody. I used to but it’s impossible to know what would work for others. I started on a 300, other people can start on liter bikes without an issue. Idk each their own.
It’s a lot of maturity that goes along with it. I know of someone that started on a Panigale 959 Corse edition. Blew my mind at the time but after talking with him it didn’t seem like recommending beginner bikes anymore was a good idea.
The dealer put the akro on a new bike for you? Is that something common? That’s not cheap but sounds good. I guess there are no slip ons. Only full systems?
I don’t think it’s common but this dealership had three left over 2023’s MT-07’s and this one they threw this cherry exhaust system on. I assume to move them to make room for 2024’s??
Yes From everything I’ve seen the exhaust, stock is a one piece unit so there’s really no choice then go full system.
I know there's a little size difference but my little Mt 125 is also good with cornering and I found the same with the throttle on mine it's a bit loose, mt's are pretty comfy to ride and even my little 15bhp Mt feels quite torquey

The only experience i have on bikes is dirtbikes. a cr125, crf250 and crf450 as of recently and i’m considering an mt/fz07 as my first street bike. think that’s a good idea or should i start smaller?

I passed my msf course two days ago and I really want too get those as my first bike. Mainly because of the sound and I hear it’s a super reliable. But I hear it’s too much for a beginner. What’s your opinion?
There’s really no right answer to what bike you should start on. Everyone has there opinions and honestly I just tell people to start on what ever they feel like cuz at the end of the day it’s your bike and your money. And you know what you can handle better than anyone else.
I used to recommend people start on meek 300/400’s cuz that worked for me. Then I got completely called out by a few guys that started on fancy liter bikes and they were totally fine.
It’s always a balance. If you start on a 300 you’ll likely be safer then on a twitchy 600. But you’ll be bored to death in a year and want to upgrade.
If you start on something bigger it’ll give you room to grow into the bike and you won’t be trading in so soon. And you’ll likely have more fun.
Hey congrats bro, I ride a tracer 700 its the sports tourer version, never fully tighten the throttle and clutch, its needs some freeplay otherwise you could end up getting hurt, ride safe man!
This bike is torquey enough where I don’t see it being a good idea to not have some sort of buffer 😎

I’ve heard good things about CFmoto, I wouldn’t do the Honda there good bikes but honestly they’re boring AF.
Akrapovic carbon is the best in term of noise for the MT-07, its sound is unique compared to all the others (arrow, sc project, Toce, black widow...) dont change it bro👌🏾❗️

Hey man congrats! I was just wondering what you got this thing for OTD? Im looking at a 2021 with 500 miles and their asking 9500 and thats before tax and doc fees etc and I feel thats a bit high.
You can get a brand new one for that. Keep looking
like @bradymcrae7351 said you can get a new one out the door for about that so I would let that "deal" pass. The milage being that low is a major red flag as well. Sounds like a new rider who got scared and shelved it. God only knows what that bike has been through. Drops etc..
Short story long. The bike was left over stock 2023 listed at $7300. With the Akro exhaust adding another about $1000 tax/title/dealer fees put it just over $10,000 OTD I put down $2k and financed about $8000

@@Briansgate well that certainly can be an issue for some people. I wouldn’t rule out any taller bike that you like. I’ve seen riders have success with lowering links or wearing a taller shoe / boot. 😎

Don’t buy the dna stage 2 kit as it doesn’t add any performance at all as removing the snorkel is the only amount of de-restricting you can do to the stock airbox. I recommend just removing the snorkel and getting a k and n filter to replace the disposable stock filter. The best possible set up you can get is from a “hordpower intake” for the mt07 paired with a full exhaust system and a flash tune from 2wheeldynoworks as others have said.
The hordpower is really hard to get yours hands on though as it is a very small company that makes them in small batches. An alternative would be to get the yoshimura airbox replacement for your bike. The downside is it’s more expensive and has a worse design for street use as its filter element needs a lot more maintenance than the hordpower.
Also side note. Wish I got the akrapovic titanium exhaust instead of the carbon as the carbon sticks out to the side way too much to the point that pretty much most aftermarket frame sliders/stunt cages can not protect it in a fall.
Wish I knew all this before modding the bike but I still love my set up in the end.

2021 and up don’t have a snorkel. They just have a rubber elbow on the lid. Easy to remove but I honestly don’t know if it even restricts airflow like the long snorkel on the older models.
The advantage of black besides the look is ease of cleaning or not having to clean as much. From a 2017 FZ-07 owner with bright yellow wheels, it's a nightmare to keep clean on trips where you may see rain. The wheels also get dirty quicker if you lube your chain the day before a ride. On the flip side, riders and non-riders still stop me to take pictures. Those bright yellow wheels are becoming rarer to see on the roads now.

Hey there i have a quick question. Do you recommend me getting an MT-07 after i get my A diving licence ? I had a Yamaha MT-125 that i very much loved and sold like 3-4 years ago. I am gonna pass my licence soon and am looking for a decent bike to buy. Would love it to have some nice power and decent speed limits but not too much either as i know i am a beginner. I'm pretty confident that i could handle it as i understand traffic very well and am pretty good with machines in general. Do you think it's gonna be WAY too powerful for me and too much as for my first "big" bike ? Thanks. Loved the video, the color of your bike and the sound of that exhaust.

Akra with a snorkel delete and a flash from 2wdw is all that bike needs…. If you get real ambitious slap an R6 throttle tube on it and life will be right! I got the 22’ Cyan Storm and smiles per gallon are off the charts! Warning…. Front wheels on the ground are optional!

@@Paramoto959 change the oil now, the break in is done! Start in second and clutch up, use the brake to bring it back down immediately….Not just chopping throttle! Build muscle memory for that foot! The time will come you need it! Ask me how I know! 😂

Trust me, you are not Nick picking about the key placement whatsoever. You already have a good point on how it’s a weird placement as soon as you get a windscreen on the bike it becomes so inconvenient to have a bundle of small keys and having to freaking constantly have a small little awkward place to put it into my biggest gripe about my 07 the keyhole placewith with a windscreen

I love it so far, I was doing some more spirited riding today and I had to cover the rear brake incase of unintended wheelies 🤣🤣 what CBR do you have? I’ve had two 600’s.

It’s $8199 for the new new. I bought a left over stock 2023 so it was $1000 off sticker price. 👍

it says ECO mode whenever you are in low rpms and a "matching" gear for the speed you have. ie. 45mph 4k rpm 5th gear

Dude, everytime something happens. I’ve almost been ran over in motorcycle dealership parking lots. Had some lock up their brakes and barely miss rear ending me… it’s wild.

My transmission is so "good" that I find neutral all the time when trying to shift from first to second or visa versa - but never when I'm actually trying to get into neutral of course. lol

Don't use 1st gear
It just shows ECO when you are in the low RPMs it doesnt restrics anything. Also my throttle is also a bit loosey goosey its normal.

Congratulations,I'm getting me a bike in a week,a 2024 KTM duke 390,the mt 03 or 07 is my next choice if I out grow my duke, loving the exhaust man,for me,I just think the bigger dash on the duke is easier for me to see far as speed an gear indicator a rev limiter
I wouldn't go any smaller then that 390 I've heard great things about that bike and I'm sure you're perfectly prepared for a 600 or more :)
@@Paramoto959 ,ty,yeah I'm done with this smaller bikes an Grom clones,I'll upgrade in future if I ever get bored with my 390,but it's got so many great features an ride modes, maybe a 990 duke with more horsepower

@@Paramoto959 ,yeah,I was just more comfortable with the the duke,cause I sat on a z400 an mam it was front heavy,but I've heard good things on the Yamaha mt 03 an 07 an the 990 duke,so those are my price affordable options an something I'm gonna feel confident afterwards to ride in the future,then maybe a 600, gotta get my bike legs first ya know,I get that the bike once moving with balance until I stop,just im nervous paying thst much an dropping it ya know.or losing control,I'm gonna make my license soon as I get my bike an practice plenty,like Greg said,moto jujitsu,15 mins before a ride,warm them tires up an practice basic maneuvers an turns an quick acceleration an stopping to hon your skills before getting out on the road to stay sharp,well anyway ride safe out there friend.

I won’t be selling sorry dude lol the akro system sounds good and it’s hard to spend money where I don’t need to. Especially when that money can go to other mods.

looking for first bike, im between this and a sv 650. i MUCH prefer the look of the suzuki because of the frame like ktm does, but the mt07 has a better powerband, electronic features like driving modes abs and sound by far. the sv doesnt sound that great imo. no clue what to chose tho as looks matter A LOT to me but the electronic features on the sv seem archaic and lacking to say the least

@@Paramoto959 it was pretty nice but the duke 390 felt great, just not enough power for my liking. ik ill get bored and want to sell it. i think the duke 390 is one of the best looking naked bikes tho. i really like seeing the cage, i guess its considered, which is why i like the sv but the duke 790- is too much $$$ and ill go too crazy with 105 hp. also dont like orange
@@Gman9253 the orange is a bit abrasive, 100 or so HP is good to have for growing into. But I’ve also had bikes with a lot more HP so I maybe jaded. Kinda been there done that.

I miss riding my mt07. Winter time in Wisconsin and we got snow so i have to watie a month yet. Also the mt03 had the wrost looking tail. The mt07s is better stock then the mt03.

The Mt goes into "ECO" when it is using less fuel. Ride it soft, it stays in eco. Ride it hard and it goes away

Bro in Germany (Europe) we have Euro 5 which means you get zero sound out of the 2021-2024 models. So sad, I really like the new light mask but if you want to drive legal, it’s so quiet. So I have to buy the 2020 Version bc it’s Euro 4 and not that quiet.😢
Gawd the emissions crap is killing our hobby. Axing bike after bike due to euro 5, can’t have an exhaust that sounds halfway decent… can you at least still upgrade it?
@@Paramoto959 yeah you can buy aftermarket exhausts but it sounds almost like stock and not so good and absolutely not comparable with your exhausts. The exhaust you have is not even allowed on the 2013 models. Only on the racetrack
