I did not know that Malaysia was such an unsafe country for the community, I would consider most of y’all micro aggressions just aggressions. I’m from Spain and here we have laws protecting us from discrimination, we fought so hard for those laws. There are still murders and lots of homophobia and transphobia. Now we have the elections and i’m really afraid cause we could lose those laws. If the conservatives win, it’s gonna be hard for the minorities over here.
The "that's so gay" thing really is hurtful, and it's so sad to see that it's an issue for many parts of the world as well. But I am grateful to have people who relate and understand why it's upsetting to hear as a queer person. Thank you for this episode!
nope, not without alot of interventions from the government.. Sajat (a transgender Muslim women) did try to leave her religion to avoid getting prosecuted but the authorities (governmental religious bodies) were one step ahead ... she ended up fleeing to Australia.
