Thanks for Checking In! Camping is going to look different for a while!

Thank you for everyone who check in on us. I'm grateful beyond measure that my family is safe and we still have a home.
For anyone wishing to travel to WNC, please do some research beforehand. Most state parks and campgrounds were drastically affected by Hurricane Helene but as some areas, with minor damages, repair and reopen, they will need the financial support. So, I wouldn't advise traveling without a definite destination that is capable of hosting you and with safe roads along the way. The communities are hurting, grieving and still searching for loved ones or waiting to be found. Please keep that in mind!

Oh a lighter note, with all the hams ( ham radio) that's been going strong and wide open since this tragedy started , with all the coordination they have been doing, WOW!!!

Glad ya'll are safe! Been wondering how the hurricane impacted you. Nantahala National Forest campgrounds and sites are also closed for the rest of the season due to hurricane damage.
