It is very heart warming mention. Do not negotiate under the reasonable price. Tour season in Leh is very short. How lovely heart. Yes.. and they are refugees...
I am a local travel agent and these are not the best TOP 5 surely in the market, yes they are good options though. 1. Tibetan markets are scattered around the whole Leh, 2. Dry Fruits surely make the list since that lane is the only prominent one locals they themselves a sale it here apart from other shops who acquire from villages and sale it at there shops. 3. Again Army shops are scattered around Leh market infact there are lots of them. 4. Nowshara yes its a good option to explore but similar products can be found around. example Moti market near to old bus station. Things to buy in Leh, Ladakh is famous for handicrafts like Pashmina shawl, woodworks comprise of small tables where intricate carvings are done - decorative pieces - souvenirs mostly with wood carvings and painting. One can buy paintings of Buddha which we call THAN-KA paintings. which also goes to the International markets. Like apricot sea-buck throne berries are also a very native product this berry contains a huge number of vitamins and omegas. Local organic products shops can't be missed where one can find diverse products such as camomile tea - Shilajit- organic soaps - organic apricot jams and many more items. Since Pashmina is regarded as the Himalayan gold and Ladakh pashmina is world-famous for its quality BUT #caution since Pashmina is so famous lots of fake products are available in market mostly sold by Kashmiri shops, they are one of the best salesmen so they can convince you to buy one which mostly is fake ones. For pashmina one should visit Govt. Handicraft shop or there is a shop which is a self-help group of women known as Looms of Ladakh and if you want the finest one visit LENA Ladakh LBA complex. For a vast collection of artefacts, one should definitely visit Ladakh Art Palace in the main market which is the oldest one. These are the few must-visit places for shopping. there are many more #goexplore. hope you will consider this as a good review 🙏✌️👍
Thank you for your amazing comment. Really appreciate it! This vlog talks about “Our” favourite top 5 and focuses only on Leh main market as mentioned. Overall Leh is a ocean of countless amazing things to explore and probably will take many days to check out and dozens of such videos to cover in entirety. We will keep trying our best ! #LehRocks 😊🤘🏻Julley!!
First thing First - Really appreciate your concern about the local traders... secondly thank you for sharing your knowledge it was really helpful... I will be traveling in September... and it's my first visit to Leh.. would the shops be open during September... Which is the right month to visit these shops...... kindly suggest.
Most of the market is working till September end to October mid. Mostly things start to close once extreme winter strikes around end October to November beginning
Thanks for this detail information and good presentation . Just completed the Sikkim tour in this May month '22 and now planning for Leh Ladakh..your video will help to purchase ethnic cultural souvenir from a proper market...
I am so sorry for replying late.. I am not sure if you are already in Ladakh. However, just FYI - 15th Aug onwards Ladakh becomes little cold. So do carry warm clothes with you.
It’s in nowshera galli - on one of the roads which go towards polo ground. We have added the google location in the description. Yes that jacket was indeed 380 Rs only alongwith many other woollen clothings at reasonable prices.
Liked your beggining advice dont bargain beyond a point as these people earn only for 6 months, if Leh is allowed us to experience its beauty, we as tourists should see that the inhabitants flourish and are happy.
Hi, in which month you went there , I belong to Rajasthan and planning to visit leh in may 2023 with my family. My son is 9 years old. Pls suggest is it good to go there in may month and also whether kids can adjust there as per the wheather.
Hey !!! May is like summers in Ladakh. But weather is tricky at that the high altitude passes or villages.. so my advice would be to carry good winter wear for when you are crossing high-passes, carry emergency medicines for yourself and kid.. specially altitude sickness one and also do buy an oxygen cylinder from one of the medical shops in Leh. You can also ping me on Instagram if you need any more information.. we can get on a call or something.
Hi , Thank you for letting us know where should we shop next when in Leh ❤ Could you please tell what all is necessary to adapt to the climatic conditions in Leh, for a trip ?
Your video is very informative specially for a person who loves shopping. I am going to carry back so many souvenirs with me. I have my trip planned on 7th April. We stay in Mumbai so don't use have much of winter wear. Please help if I should come to leh and do the shopping for the trip as they are cost effective. As we get very expensive winter wear in Mumbai and they are useless for us. Like I would like to buy jackets and boots for my son who is 8 yrs old. Kindly advise
Hey !!! I hope I m not late to respond to you.. yes you can buy winter wear from Leh market. However, I would still suggest decathlon for buying quality and utility jackets.. that will last very long.
By the way can you please suggest whether we can do trip on our own without taking a package. I mean conveyance, stay will not be a problem. Please reply.
You can definitely do the trip on your own by making the bookings via online portals for stay and most stays will help you book a conveyance basis your plan. Many backpackers do such trips to ladakh every year. However it will require enough research and exploration.
@@TheSeekingSoul can you please share contact details of dependable drivers from Srinagar to leh and then Nubra, Hundar, Pangong, Tso moriri and back to Leh. We wish to do the trip on our own
Hello, first of all thanks for such a beautiful video. I was trying to open the Dry fruits shop but unfortunately it's taking me to a food restaurant place, could you please help me with the location of the dry fruit shop or update in the video? Both way works, thanks in advance
Hi. The dry fruit place is directly opposite to the wazwan restaurant at the starting corner of the main market (you will see a lot of police and 1-2 cop cars parked there)
Hey !! NavShera is a parallel road to main market. You will find may lanes from the main market. In case you don’t find it, ask anyone they will guide you. And the shop name is Lobzang Chinpa Crockery house.
Hello Beautiful couple! I’m in love with your videos, the moment our Leh trip is on, I was on UA-cam to know bit about leh and shopping your videos were amazing! I have a question actually a query could you guys please help me with that? This September 2nd I’m coming to leh, thought of buying jackets and winter ware in leh itself, could you guys able to suggest the best budget places to buy leather jackets and winter jackets please
Hey Nithin ! Thank you for supporting us 🙃 For jackets you can go the place we have shown in the video. There is a mix of second hand and fresh pieces.. other than that you can look for shops in the Nowshera market.
Ur video is misleading nowshera market where u told jackets are available for 380 are old second hand market.I wasted my 30 minutes going there.Kindly don't misguide people
Hello Ji, We ourselves have visited and shopped a lot in the Nowshera market that we have shown in our videos. However, the stuff available there, is a mix of fresh and Second hand pieces, not just second pieces. :)
@@TheSeekingSoul yes nowshera is a mix of Brand new and second hand market. But the 500 to 350 jackets were of second hand in nature. One doesnt get brandnew jackets under 500 in nowshera
Thanks for the information. We will surely visit those shops. Planning to Visit Leh in last week of May. Will the weather be too chilly during this period?
Hey !! Weather here is very dynamic. You can check on a weather app, just a day before you leave. Or else my suggestion would be to be ready with a jacket anyway as high passes get really chilly even in peak summers and full sleeve cotton tshirt for layering as well as save you from the scorching sun..
The administration guidelines for test/doses keep changing as per the severity of the wave. Currently (April-2022), vaccination certificate of completion of both doses is sufficient to enter Leh or else one has to appear for the test at the airport itself.
