Watching from the hospital! my son is being born today!
Congrats!
Congrats
Congrats
Congratulations! Don't give the kid some crazy name please! I'm sure you already know but names have meanings & that will influence him for life!
Congratulations 👍🏻🥳
Cody, you should conduct some beginner classes for the kids that want to learn some basic skills
That’s a great idea. Teaching kids how to start a fire, get clean water, and prepare some food.
Sounds like fun
You should have Jack to the teaching.
Boy Scouts of America?
Good idea
From a 16 year old who’s been watching for awhile I can tell you covid is definitely hard on us too but most of us realize the adults/ parents have bigger issues to deal with right now then us. Don’t be too hard on yourself
@domifab101 seriously? The kid puts up a great comment and the best you can do is correct a small mistake that has been made. We all know what he means without correcting him.
Mr P could be another kid correcting his or her peer...nothing wrong with that either.. on another note, would be nice if everyone just stopped believing in this scamdemic
This 16 year old agrees
Such WISDOM & encouragement from a Young Man of your years, bodes WELL for all of us! Thank you!
Covid is a Fraud kid. 911 was a Fraud. Powerful people will always try to control you. Social Media is Cancer. Hope you find the truth!
bless you. My 15 y/o and 11 y/o are really struggling with the lack of social opportunities. It is heartbreaking to me. Wish I were in your neighborhood.
you had me at chili and cornbread! What time does it start?
That tent is a worthwhile investment. Great ministry.
Great Depression saying: Use it up, wear it out, make do or do without.
I try to live like that. My grandparents were farmers in Iowa, my Mom was born in the 30's on the farm. Lots of stories. My relatives have the farms now and the grain elevators. Just thinking of when Grandpa started with the mules and old tractors and now my cousins have the new tractors is mind blowing!
Do it for Boots! (Rhodes family saying if you watch Justin)
what of Jacks future, he ain't gonna stay around for ever. he's a bright kid, somethin tells me he's gonna do well.
He has the wherewithal, the history, the mentor/father & mother. He will have the choice. And he's been taught how to make good choices.
He should start making UA-cam videos again
@@cardinalforlife1143 If he has one Im curious too
@@georgecroney6168 I believe that Cody said that Jack wants to go to law school.
Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Wranglerstar, for sharing your thoughts and insights. Things I never gave much thought about in the past are coming to mind more and more these days. Just purchased a camp stove thinking this could be an emergecy heat/cooking source. I watched you and Jack put your tent up and read many of the comments motivating me for a tent purchase as well. Just not familiar with them but I'm actively researching and need to pull the trigger on one. So again, thank you so much. You'all affect people in many positive ways.
We have 2 teens and a 10 yo and homeschool. It's really refreshing that you and your family are like minded . It would be great to bring our family to one of your events as we are not to terribly far away. God bless you and your family more than ever in these trying times...
The world needs more people like you.
Here in South Dakota we've never been locked down. It's a pretty conservative state. Most people are on the same page. Kids are in school
As a truck driver, I can confirm that most states are not in lockdown and maskless.
Small town Montana. My life has barely changed. Very few people wear masks or are unduly affected by covid.
Glad that there still people with common sense
He said chili and cornbread and I got the worst craving that could every be felt.
Im from uk and its our 3rd locdown so my hopes and prayers go out to you, your family and your communiity.
Ireland (North) and in the same boat but we also have a a half assed brexit to contend with.
I live in northern West Virginia in between Ohio and Pennsylvania. We have only been locked in the beginning. We could still go to the grocery store, pharmacy, lumber yard, dollar store, walmart etc. Not locked down now either.
I feel so bad for countries like yours in being locked down. Please stay safe and get projects done on your property.
GOD BE WITH YOU ALL. LOVE YOU
The house I bought along the Delaware river 6 years ago was built in the late 1800's (rural) ... house is 2600 sg ft, 5 br ... during the depression their were 7 families living on the property ... in the house, plus 2 shacks and the garage were all filled with people
Always impressed at your thoughtful and loving parenting.
Thanks for being so open and candid with us.
Our church had an after-game activity called "The Fifth Quarter" where we got together with other kids. Not hundreds, but a few dozen. Games, music, food. Don't underestimate the importance of food.
That's a fantastic idea!! Im 20 and I wish we had something like that when I was in middle and high school
Your video brings up so many memories of me growing up in church..My father died when I was seven and my little brother was still in moms belly. Mom raised us in church. We always had church picnics..we had lots of tent revivals and we were always doing something together as a church..my brother and I just loved going to Sunday school..we also had a food pantry that helped families..I wish people would stick together nowadays like we did back then!
Praying for your family!
May you continue to see rich blessings to share with others!
We have a large group of kids/families that agreed to lock-down with one another. One extended family unit in ways which has allowed the kids some interaction that has remained normal for the most part. It has been great but even with that, we see some stress in the kids. I can't imagine how hard it is for kids that are still isolated.
Love hearing those stories of your grandpa. So humbling
0:14 You west coast guys always saying " Pacific " instead of " Specific " lol ;)
Having been raised Amish I know what you’re talking about. Great community structure but with doctrinal problems. Just uploaded my testimony.
I grew up very close to an Amish community.
General perception was that they were really nice people. They'd wave to us from their carriages and were known for building decent barns. Walmart even made some special parking areas for them so the horses wouldn't be so close to the cars. However.. due to the self-seclusion, they were never really considered part of the community - rather more of an offshoot group sharing the same land. Even after 20 years from when they moved in, we just didn't know anything about them and anytime Amish came up in conversation, it was 90% rumors/hearsay. The only direct interaction we were allowed was at their general store or the construction office.
@@probably_afk Yeah that’s typically how it is. They kinda do there own thing and keep to themselves. Hence the nickname “The quiet in the land”. I just started doing videos on Amish people to get the truth out there because most UA-cam vids on them is false. Subscribe and enjoy
Great Idea! Back in the early 70s, we had a Christian 'coffee house' for teens. No coffee, but singing, talking, praying and lots of fellowship. Still have some of those friendships !!
You and Mrs.W are the type of people you dont see anymore. You guys are truly good people and thank you for all you do.
My grandfather (a legal Italian immigrant) had a small grocery store in south western PA coal country during the Great Depression. We have pictures of the lot behind the store at the time full of tents with local families who had lost their homes. Those folks weren't living out of tents by choice but it worked as a stop gap. My grandfather allowed as many as would fit in his lot to set up behind the store, even carrying some of their grocery needs "on account", some for more than a year. And sadly, some of those left without ever returning to repay a dime.
Thanks for the update and its nice to hear your receptive to your family's needs! Thanks for sharing your story. Even as an "East Coast man" I can appreciate it. 😁
I've been trying to bring up the shortage of supplies in my community for a while now. I live in South Africa and even local products are beginning to become scarce. I notice the shelves being stocked less everyday and frivolous items like candy and soft-drinks are in full supply, but items like storable foods are disappearing.
Cody, hang some very visible flags off the guidelines, or you'll be tripping over them in the twilight in the dark. Just a suggestion
Or you can use reflective cordage
I put solar lanterns from the dollar store near the stakes. I also tie orange marking tape to the lines.
eta: I used yellow glow-in-the-dark paracord for a while. It doesn't glow very long and eventually doesn't glow much even right after it's been in light. That was when I went to the solar lanterns.
My dogs like to eat the guidelines
Amen, Fight the good fight! For His Glory!
This has been huge on the kids. My daughter has other siblings when she’s with her mother so the impact there isn’t as pronounced. My daughter is 7 and she’s has as much of an understanding as any 7 year old can or should have. But it hits hard when she asks when she can sleep over Grams again or hug her. My grandfather her great grandfather will be 99 next week and he’s with it for sure, she wants to know if she’ll get to hug him for his birthday. Kids are feeling it for sure. I think adults are too. Be good to each other!
Can you get access to some covid rapid test kits? You can do the tests yourself and they are only like 5 bucks each. That way you can be safe around your grandparents.
I'd love one of these tents as a back up, but with how things have been, I can't even afford tires for my truck to keep doing side jobs since my lay off due to covid back in March. Great video as always Wrangler.
Look for used tires. Many folks will give them away and you can install them on your rims on your own with a tire iron. Great exercise and money saving option.
@@schwuzi Yeah I have been.
Gotta love a centrally heated tent!
"I don't have access to hundreds of kids" - Cody, quote of the day.
lol came to say the same thing
@@hayden8491 Or the future president.. I'm sure he has an all-you-can-sniff buffet.
🤣🤣🤣
God bless you and your family. You're doing amazing things.
Thank you so much!
May Almighty God continue to bless you and your family. Thank you Cody.
I need a link to this tent please
I honestly wondered how a move like that would be for a high schoolers, leaving the home they grew up in in a time like this. Prayers for Jack to get reconnected with other teens, and adjust to the new area. Nice idea, and I hope it comes together with the tent. Interesting story too.
An idea just popped into my head while looking at the chimney cutout in the tent in the background. Since you seem to have a good relationship with the manufacturer of this tent, you could probably talk them into sending you a couple square feet of canvas. You could cut it to size, and sew hook on one side around the edge, loop on the other, and stick it between the layers if you ever have the need/desire to use the tent without the stove. It would be an easy repair without any more modification to the tent itself and should work exactly the same as the flap did originally. Could make a little sewing instructional video out of it as well.
My grandmother was an Okie that came to Arizona with her parents. She talked about family members living in a tent in the front yard of family members. I can't imagine doing that in the summer in Phoenix, but it wasn't quite as warm back then.
Where can I get a mini toupee like that Cody!? Looking good
This is a great message and I’m glad you and Mrs. W had the chance to talk with the kids. This is something that is extremely important.
I'll pray for you and your family. May his blessings flow to you all 🙏
Listen, I dont always agree with you as far as politics, religion, things of that nature.... but.... you are one of the most honest, humble, and compassionate people I've ever met. Incredibly hard working and knowledgeable. A lesson in the fact that we can have different beliefs and views on things and still respect each other and learn from each other. I've always enjoyed watching your videos Cody. I have a great deal of respect for you, and I appreciate the time and effort you put into sharing your knowledge and passions with your viewers.
Hope everyone is happy and healthy
This is awesome! It takes a village Cody. God bless brother
These wall tents are so handy. I have one for hunting specifically but like you have pointed out so many other uses as well!
Love this idea. I live not to far away from you and I’m noticing the struggles with my son. I’d love to be a part of this if possible.
That was a great story and it's great that you are so aware of your sons mental health and are doing something about it.
Awesome! I'm so glad you are doing something to help out the youth. They are the future of our struggling nation.
I'm amazed at how similar our backgrounds are. We also provide a space for our teens and there friends to gather, just as my parents and friends parents provided when I was a teen. Thanks for doing what you do!
I would love one of these tents.
I would love one too but I would never be able to afford it. Especially right now
I, too, grew up in a Christian group/atmosphere - we had church on Sunday, bible study on Tuesday nights, Wednesday night service, and Fridays we had choir (my friends and I sang in our church youth group - we toured and visited other churches to minister our message. Our youth group choir was named the “Peacemaker”). This helped shape the man I am today and I consider myself blessed to have had that in my life.
In Germany the lock down has got quite strict. No school, restaurants until end of January. Only one person can visit another family. And if your city/community is declared a "Hotspot", you can only go 15km from your home. It's such a weird feeling to be restricted like that. Businesses are going down big time and the numbers of clinically depressed people is three times as high as 2019. Its taking our youth from us. I'm in my "prime teenage years" (15, 16 in April) and I should learn a lot and get to see other places and people but there is just no way to do so. Keep doing these great videos, internet dad :)
Fantastic family story. I love them. Maybe because i have a great one myself. God bless you over there in the States
Another Family I closely follow is the Caldwells who hiked the AT together, I recall all
of the clamor they were given! Reminds me of your conflicts. Keep the Faith and Drive On!
When I was a kid I used to go to the Church lunch and games they had every week, a school bus would come by ,pick up all the kids and bring us to the Church then after drop us at home.. it was my favourite time of the week because of the food! As a little kid my folks were not there but my church took care of me! I am 29 today and still haven’t forgotten it!
This sounds like a great idea for many kids. But as a VERY introverted person, this sounds like my worst nightmare.
It be good for you. As an ex introverted kid now introverted adult. It's good to get out beyond our comfort zones.
@@aman12214 Very true. As long as we can snug back in the next day
agreed, I don't think everybody just understands this.
Love your channel ..I love your old fashioned hard work ethic and traditional family values ..So refreshing in these crazy times
I grew up in a small rockwellesque town in New England with lots of kids in the ‘hood. An amazing childhood regaled by all 60 years later via social media. You’ve chosen to live in a somewhat isolated “homestead” environment. Obviously, pluses and minuses with our choices. Christian fellowship is a strong influence that I’m not familiar with, but can see the benefits to especially in isolation. Good luck with Jack and these tumultuous times. Adolescence is a tough period, and hopefully what you’ve taught Jack early on will provide strength now when he needs it.
I had something come up in life that changed my whole outlook on religion, personally. A lot of my friends though were highly involved with a local church and I wasn't going to let my personal opinions get in between our friendships. The local church was very involved with the youth and would host alot of things for high schoolers. Every friday night, after the local high school football games, they would host a "fifth quarter" party where there would be pizza and snacks, dodgeball games, xbox games available in a seperate room. You'd have such a variety of folks that would go there. They'd also open their doors after school hours where they provided basketball hoops, hockey nets, etc. I am very appreciative of what they offered and it definitely helped me stay out of trouble. I built relationships there that would have never come to fruition had that not been available.
Great idea. Would love a live chat soon!!
Ok Dylan, I'll get one going,
This is a great example of seeing a need for change and making it come true. Many folks will tell us, we need to do this and do that. But, those who say that often NEVER step up and take control and make changes. Wranglerstar is a leader who saw a need and made it happen. Thank you for the positive example.
I really like how you are still including, and giving an option to the folks who might have moire trepidation with the COVID stuff. This is what the "church" needs more of!!
You are a great inspiration. Easy to sit back and complain, takes effort to provide solutions. Well done, create great memories in difficult times ...
Most excellent idea for kids AND their parents. Lord bless you and your family!
I grew up in the LDS church and we still had dances every month or two. Many of my youth leaders in church told us it was very important for us boys to go talk to the girls and spend time with them because it teaches you how to talk to people and communicate. Since communication has changed a lot with technology young people don’t know how to talk to others as well. I think the tent is an awesome idea.
You’re a great man God’s working through you to help people I can see it You’re doing a great job
Hopefully
I’ll get the chance to meet you take care and God bless
Thank you again. Your words join with the Spirit to bring more than Eloquence to your message
Love the idea of hosting for the local teenagers in the wall tent. How warm does it get in the tent with the fireplace going?
It's very comfortable, as warm as you like it,
Prayers for your family and the algorithm.
This is a great story! Thank you for sharing!
Lay a big poly tarp over roof and wet snow won't easily collapse the tent, also will allow your tent to not deteriorate as quickly. Great idea with the Tent and bringing community together.
Hi Wranglerstar! I have been watching with my husband for the past several months. I love to watch - we never miss an episode! But the reason I am commenting today - I have been teasing my husband that you and he need to be FRIENDS! Today - before we watched, he saw Mrs. W at the market. He was to shy (unlike me) to go introduce himself. Well after watching tonight's episode it is apparent I need to make this happen! We are with you and your thoughts on our country and the changes going on. We are also a part of your community! Keep doing what you do, and we will keep doing what we do!
This is very commendable - a great service to your community. Best of luck!
Very eloquently delivered!! Nice work and as always a great story. I am fifty also And spent much time at grandma and grandpas. Not to mention that I’m an only son of an only son my dad had four sisters and I was born 60 years to the day on my grandpa‘s birthday. Learned so much.
On behalf of the many seniors who live alone and are estranged from family for one reason or another, & all the children who are only permitted to socialize on electronic media, my heart goes out to all of you. I empathize. I miss my family and friends too. I've called several long distance friends in the past months, we cheered each other up. A supportive community is imperative to maintain adequate psychological health in these uncertain times we all are facing.
Great stories Cody. My grandmother was born in 1908 and her father died while she was young. She told a story about how poor they were that they would gather thistles by the roadside so they could eat dinner. Always remember, no matter how poor you are, you always have family, the most important thing, as exemplified by your story of how your family stuck together and did what had to be done to survive.
What an fantastic idea. Unfortunately the children are too often hurt the most while being overlooked when bad things happen. This will be a great blessing to the community.
9:00 “ I’ll close with this story”😂😂😂
My daughter,15 years old, is feeling the same, which has led to depression. We have now made it a point to have her friends over more and she to their houses. Also we have gotten her involved in civic projects such as litter pick up and the such. She has been much better for her now. Don't forget your kids throughout this situation.
You have given me the idea to speak with our pastor about doing something similar as you.
Keep the faith and the great content.
God bless.
I too worry about the kids out there right now. It’s hard enough to be an adolescent, without the extra seclusion measures. Hug Jack for all of us and let him know that it will get better. I’m proud of who you are Cody and Momma too. I’m a better person and parent simply seeing you guys parent that beefcake Jack and the lovely Sweet Loaf. :).
One of your best videos really. Thank you...and enjoy your gathering.
Are there any circus tents remaining? The Rose Parade floats were once made by the neighborhood kids and community groups in the old big top tents. It was a wonderful time of year and the Budweiser horses were brought to the tent on display for the community on New Year's Eve to pull the Budweiser wagon up Rosemead Blvd. to the Pasadena parade route. This was a big event in the 1960s.
Im 22 and have spent 2 years in total homeless, living in a tent is 100x better than living in doorways in towns. What your offering for your community is brilliant! In 40-50 years the kids will be old and remembering back to how you, cody, put these nights on in such crazy and uncertain times
Most excellent. A true blessing you are to your community.
Hi Cody, I thought I had a sound quality issue, but I think it was the wonderful trickling sound from the river.
An old black lady named Mattie Deere from Alligator, MS used to write often to a columnist of the long defunct Memphis Press Scimitar newspaper. She was a very wise and Godly old country philosopher and always ended her letters with: "Be of good cheer, God is in the plan!" I am trying to remember to ignore the media and tell myself that every day.
Thank you for your prayers. I will keep you and your family in mine.
Awesome video. Thanks!
Man I wish more people acted like you do, people with means and resources helping out the community and people who may not have the means to, I would love to see more people with the ability to help out take a lesson from you and lend a helping hand to those less fortunate rather than sowing hate and distrust.
This has been very much hard on our children as well with them being home from school.. My wife and I too struggle a bit with things too. These lockdowns here in Wisconsin weren't too bad but still a hindrance none the less.
Very noble idea. Make sure you use the best PPE protocols. I’d hate to see this backfire on you (God forbid) with someone gettin sick.
We took up shotgunning with my son for the same reason!
Duck hunting, Cley shooting, rabbit hunting. Soon fly fishing...
Thank you Cody! A lot to think about
Godbless you and your good lady wife. Life, particularly good life requires open eyes, communication and community. People like you and your family are an invaluable example for others. Your energy and efforts are appreciated by many good folks and even by some still on the fence I like to think.
'Subsidence farmers' 😂 Sinking slowly into the mud. Love it.
Im in Indiana. We have freedom. Going roller skating tomorrow with the kids.
