How to Make Wire Netting Around a Bottle
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 чер 2024
- beadaholique.com/collections/... - In this video, see how to surround a bottle in wire netting starting at the neck and going all the way to and under the base. The end result looks like the bottle is inside a perfectly fitted wire bag. Because of how this technique is crafted, you will also end up with two wire loops up near the top of the bottle from which you can hang a chain.

Beautiful project, I really loved it, thank you so much!!!
Great tutorial!! I really like that you took the time to show the whole process. Thank You! :)
Thank you for taking the time to show us the whole technique. I for one enjoy the longer videos when I have the time to watch them. This wire weaving skill set could be useful with a few other objects also thank you again for sharing it.
Great tutorial. Clear and calm.
Great idea for a present! I know someone who would love one or more of these. The video and instructions are very clear so I'll definitely have a try.
I liked it and plan to see more of her instructions - THANKS!!!
Time consuming is not in doubt, but still with my love of glass bottles, I CANNOT WAIT to try this technique. THANK YOU and HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Thank you for this amazing tutorial. My brain is working overtime on all the things i want to make. :-). Happy new year
I did this on my water bottle and it came out great!
Squishing is a technical term.
So cool! I've been looking for a tutorial on this, thanks! a lot easier than I thought
so cute, i love it! i'm gonna go buy me some wire with my christmas money and try this out!
i love your videos, julie. you're my favorite crafter on this channel. :D you have the best voice and so much patience for making good tutorials. happy new year!
God bless you bravo. Bravo. Bravo.
So pretty! Great idea! Thank you for sharing! Happy New Year! I always look forward to seeing what you come up with next! :D ♥
That's so cute! ❤️❤️❤️ I actually bought some little bottles from Dollar Tree not knowing what I would do with them because I thought they were adorable. Now I know what to do with them!👍 Thanks a bunch! 😊
Glad we could help!
absolutely loved this video, I have to try this. would like to try and add small beads.
Great tutorial! Thank you!
This is a fun idea!
Nice! What a great idea!! I'm gonna have to try this!! Maybe, add some 8/0 seed beads in between the loops on the bottle for color? Many added possibilities with this craft project! Thank You
TFS, Tonia xx
thank you for the video :)
Very cool
As an option to gluing the cork top, you could also soak the end of it in some water to inflate it a bit, whereby you can still utilize the bottle. Great idea for the bottle!
Wax sealing for corks is fun too!
Such a lovely little bottle, what would you suggest to put in it? Your tutorial is great and I appreciate it being longer I can understand it to the finish, Thank you much.
Just brilliant. I'd like to do this for a bead in a wire link. Any ideas how to start?
+mrgorky777 Hmmm. It's definitely possible but you will need an anchor point for your wire. What type of bead are you using? Shape, size, etc.
This is beautiful. I was wondering if I wanted to make a bottle look like it had liquid in it but without the spill risk or all the other trouble that using might cause . What could I do? Would it be okay to use some type of resin?
Yes, resin would be your best choice if you wanted to make it look like it had permanent water or liquid inside it. Just be cautious that it will be hard to pop the bubbles in the resin when it is inside a bottle. I would do the resin part of the project first, make sure you like the results, and then do the wire wrapping.
Great idea, a must try. Isn't this the same as the viking stitch? Love your videos
Yes, this is very close to viking knit, I had not even realized that until you brought it up. To make this particular project I had modified a technique I had done when I made netted wire earrings, and because i was adapting it from that perspective, I had not made the correlation to viking knit. Good catch!
Beadaholique I have been a fan for quite some time and appreciate the time you take to make these videos...thanks again!
que cosa tan rustica y tan bonita, pero los frasquitos veo dificil conseguir....
Beautiful. Looking for a tutorial on figure 8 knotless looping. Could you let me know if you’ve got one? Thank you
Sorry no we don't have a tutorial on that yet
muy bueno ni niña un besito
Do you have a technique for doing this on say a heart shaped rock or shell? Thankyou!!
Tandra Boyer It would actually be the same technique for the netting, it will start to form around whatever shape you are using as long as you pull your wire tight as you go. The trick will be creating the anchor wire up top, with the bottles it was easy because there was a lip that it could rest under. If you could find some place to secure that heavier gauge wire which the netting anchors to, then you should be good to go.
+Beadaholique Thankyou so much for your reply!!!
Wire is notorious for breaking or snapping when it's overworked, how could I keep it from doing that?
You are absolutely right, it does snap and break easily when overworked. I think the only thing you can do is just be really careful with it and not rush. I find that when I rush I tend to end up with more knots and kinks (which adds to it being overworked) vs. when I take my time and slowly manipulate the wire it is less likely to end up snagging, knotting, or breaking.
AKA: Viking Knit
I love it!! *__*
ain't nobody got time fo dat
I made one. Super sloppy and ended up with covered with my fingerprints even tho I washed my hands before xD
That's tricky with glass focal pieces like this isn't it. You can try latex gloves next time, with pieces like these where they're difficult to clean afterwards that might be significantly less annoying.
