  • I went to Registro the First Japanese 🇯🇵 Colony in Brazil 🇧🇷
Brazil has the largest Japanese population outside of Japan and those that know that fact might've heard of Liberdade the Japanese neighborhood in São Paulo.
Liberdade is like a china town but Japanese with normal São Paulo style buildings with some Japanese decoration and lots of stores with Japanese food, Plushies, Anime stuff, electronics and Japanese restaurants but nothing truly historic.
For an authentic Brazilian-Japanese experience you should visit Registro it has much more history old buildings and some people that still speak Japanese.
Registro is a place that I've waited and worked for over 4 years to show the world.
I hope you enjoy it, can share it with your friends to perhaps help me in funding new adventures.

Heyy! Glad I discovered your video! I’m from Philippines, but I have been to Brazil once and to Japan many times, and also have dated a Brazilian Japanese person before! I know more Japanese than Portuguese because I studied it longer, but I can more or less understand the discussions you have on this video! If you ever go to Japan, there is a big Brazilian community in Gunma which is two hours away from Tokyo! Lots of signs are in Portuguese there, and there is a big supermarket there that offers many Brazilian food products as well as Brazilian dishes like Churrasco and Feijoada! This makes me miss all the delicious food and amazing people, music and culture! Would love to visit Amsterdam in the future, too!

That was great to hear thank you for sharing this with me. I will add Gunma to the list of places to visit for when I go to Japan. I only knew about the prevalence of them in Aichi Toyohashi and so on nice to add another to the list. But on rather I will visit Japan I really want to but I need to somehow grow my UA-cam channel to a level where I can sustain myself financially and keep traveling. I will first finish my Latin American trip right now I’m replying to you from a “hotel” if you can call it that in Chile. Also I’m suprised you have traveled that much for someone from the Philippines, you must be doing well financially they sound like great life experiences.

@@LewisWirth yeah. I feel very lucky and privileged to have been able to travel to countries super far away from me despite coming from a poor country. I always said that material things don’t make me happy so I don’t buying things but rather traveling to get new experiences!

@@winter10x06 that sounds great, though I understand the struggle that can come with a lack of recourses in any sense I’ve had a similar mindset to not spend much and save for my bigger goals instead

I'm from Registro city!! You could visit some local tea industries.. we also have a Japanese style square called Praça Nakatsugawa, same name of the street Nakatsugawa.
There are some tradicional Japanese festivals during the year, please come back! 🤩⛩️🏯

Thank you, I’m actually working on a part two where I visit some more then 100 years old Japanese buildings and a bit of tea plantation as well. And I might come back for a festival later this year that a friend told me about. I actually think I visited praça Nakatsugawa in the second part. It was a Tori close to there with some exercise equipment 🤔
