Norwood shingle maker assembly problem solved

Norwood is known for having terrible directions and customer service. These were some problems I encountered and a demonstration how it should operate. I hope it saves some ppl the struggle I went through to get it right.

I basically came up with the same conclusions you did but I wish I had seen your video first. The outfacing feet is something I didn’t consider and would have saved a ton of time. Thanks!

I just put mine together.
I bought it from a private sale.
It was new in box, but 3 years old.
I am missing the linkage between units, and some set screws. I will have to turn my feet around. And i wasn't sure where to set the handle, or the stops.
This video is a great deal of help.
I will get some parts locally, and finish mine up tomorrow.

This helped me out a lot. Just looking at your pictures of it assembled was good. Your advice was even better. I am an aircraft mechanic and am used to putting stuff like this together....but this one wasn't easy due to horrible instructions. I recently put together the LM30 sawmill and it is a nice mill (eventually).....but geez...Norwood is so sloppy in their instructions and inventory. It could have been so much easier.

The handle goes on the second jig because when you're at the end of your pass you can flick the handle to the next setting then go back to the beginning of the log and do your next pass.
Hope this saves you some walking back and forth around your throttle handle/push arm!

you may have gone to college, however you cannot explain with any clarity what you mean to say. plan ahead then use camera to capture procedure.
