    this is a non-ER 773, witch are used for such "shorter Routes" maily in the Asian Market, since Transaero get some ex-SIA 773 (non ERs) they also fly on th very long Moscow-New York Route :)
    btw: i just LOVE these non-ER 777-300s, and the RR Engine sound is just awesome!

    At 2:32, the female voice says, "for safety reasons, electronic devices may not be used on board." Yeah right. I'm glad you didn't follow that rule! Thanks for the awesome video.

      No offense but electronic devices are not dangerous anymore on flight... You can even use cellphones (or the smart ones :D) or anything else. Even if they are not in flight mode. Almost all aircraft which can be disturbed by those signals are not in use anymore. Most airlines just say that because 1: Its still a standard regulation (In europe not anymore) and 2: they just say its a precaution to avoid complications...

    ETOPS stands for Extended Operations. It is simply a term used by the FAA to denote how far an aircraft can fly from an alternate landing airport. They can ratings of 180min, 350 mins etc. All wide body aircraft (Boeing and Airbus) in operation have some sort of ETOPS capability.
    ER is just a generic term Boeing uses for aircraft with "Extended Range" over base models.
    This is NOT a 777-300ER. More likely a 777-300 or 200. All 773ER have raked wing tips (not the 772ER and larger fan size.)

    I know that but the creator of the video probably typed that so we would know it has rolls royce engines. But the ONLY engine option for the -300ER is the General Electric GE-90. This plane is NOT an ER model, and it has RR trent 800, not GE90.

  • @latin1988AC
    @latin1988AC 12 років тому

    No. It is for safety. Pilots are required to carry out this technique everytime to ensure the engines are responding correctly to throttle input and to make sure the instruments are reading what it should.

    777 Turbines are just so massive in their abilities...and yeah its traits are so sick and twisted. The thrust output of bypass fan jets have come along way since the introduction of the then "NEW" 747,L-1011, and DC10 some 40 years ago.

  • @fspilot357
    @fspilot357 12 років тому +1

    ER does not means ETOPS, the 777-300ER is a modeltype with raked wingtips and a big additional fueltank - as of OFFICIAL Boeing dokuments the 777-300 earned the 180minute-ETOPS approval on May 04, 1998
    the 777-300ER first flown in 2002 - you believe me now?

    One thing I'm sure it is Rolls Royce engines. It isn't GE90-115B, only engine optin for the B777-300ER due to different fan blade edges on the GE.

  • @pisit1998

    @bysmichael ETOPS is an acronym for extended operations as re-defined by the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in 2007.This rule allows twin-engined airliners to fly long-distance routes that were previously off-limits to twin-engined aircraft. ETOPS operation has no direct correlation to water or distance over water. It refers to single-engine flight times between diversion airfields, regardless as to whether such fields are separated by water or land.^^

    These RR's 892 are soooo small for such a huge aircraft. And they have only 400kN max thrust and were unable to power 777-300ER with 350 tonn MTOW. That's why "old" 777-300 went down in history so quickly

    • @jteamaz
      @jteamaz 9 років тому +2

      mvovan That really didn't have anything to do with the discontinuation of the 777-300. Airlines wanted the extended range and the RR or PW wasn't designed or big enough to handle the extra weight. The wingspan was increased and the GE90 was introduced to handle it. Airlines just stopped ordering it when it was offered. The 892s were enough for the standard version. If they weren't, they it simply wouldn't have gotten off the ground ...

    • @raykrislianggi
      @raykrislianggi 8 років тому +1

      +mvovan They did demonstrate a more powerful version of the Trent 800, dubbed Trent 8104 and 8115 with 104,000 and 115,000 lbs of thrust respectively, but then GE offered Boeing development money for the 777 in exchange for exclusivity in powering the 300ER variant. Thus the Trent 8104 and 8115 project was scrapped. And yes, the Trent 8104 was the first ever turbofan to produce over 100,000 lbs of thrust, not the GE90-115B. Apparently Rolls Royce isn't an amateur like you, the Trent 892 has the required power output for the 777-300, and judging from the sound pitch, this takeoff video doesn't even use 85% of its power.

    @LeetHackTutorials RR for Rolls Royce. Considering that this is a regular mid-short haul 777-300, GE (ER) series aircraft are not needed. 777-300PW would be a 777-300 powered by Pratt and Whitney engines :)
