When I was a kid playing this for the first time, I thought Sonic's wish for a mountain of handkerchiefs at the end was unceremoniously cheesy. Now? It's still cheesy to me, but also kind of sweet, since he did understand that Shara loved Djinn and that she would need time to recover from his being banished.
Yeah, even though I cringe at the execution, I still appreciate the sentiment. Compared to Sonic 06 just a year prior where he tells the girl who hasn't been able to mourn her father's death for 10 years has had to shoulder the responsibility of a whole kingdom in the time since then, and who undoubtedly feels incredibly guilty for being made part of the reason for the world's destruction to "Just Smile" when she finally starts to crack a little when she has to say goodbye to the one friend she has ever had to fix the world, it's nice to see Sonic actually acknowledging that those negative feelings have a place in situations like these, even if it's wise to not dwell on those feelings too long. I don't even think Sonic 06's story had as many fundamental problems as people say it does but yeah that's one thing that I don't think they even COULD have executed well.

Besides the terrible controls and the multiplayer being a half-baked version of Mario Party, I found this game to actually be pretty good. To me it's incredibly underrated. Plus, *DARK SPINE SONIC!!!*
This game I seriously loved. The music, the story, even the gameplay were amazing in my book. I know many people disliked the game due to the funky wii controls, but to me the atmosphere was set perfectly for the maps and I often found myself staring in wonder as I ran through the stages.
At least his last wish was actually very nice. It also shows how much he cares about Shahra. He knows she’s hurting and figured that was the way to help heal her pain and broken heart
Not gonna lie, this is one of the Best Sonic stories! I prefer it toward the Black Knight, and definitely better than 06, also I like Sonic and Shahra relationship, not as romance, they share a really good friendship (totally better than Sonic and Elise)
Yeah this was a lot more storyline than it was fighting in the game, but I still enjoyed it. I definitely felt their relationship was a master and his genie like Aladdin, yet still good friends.

This is such a good game. Not only because of all the crazy shenanigans you fight in the book and the unique play style compared to most games but the story. Sonic has his cockiness and his confidence and his coolness which he needs to have always but the scenes where he touches the rings experiences the sealed emotions and gets all serious and shows he does know it’s not all fun and games and that this is more serious than he is letting in. And his unwavering bravery despite his life running out along with the flame… you just don’t see the serious side I described earlier in most games and his confidence sometimes overshadows his bravery because he isn’t usually showed in a tight spot so he can be brave. The only other example I can think about was when he was fighting a pointless battle with a broken sword against merlina in the black knight. That cutscene still gives me chills to this day

My vague memories of this game are that it’s a fever dream and watching a few of these cutscenes again has only reinforced that fact Also the main theme unlocked memories from deep within me
Ooh! Ooh! STUPID HEADCANON THEORY TIME!!! ...It's not a cold. Sonic caught something WAY worse, and the whole game is the fever dream he's having as his body tries desperately to fight off the infection. The flame in his heart draining his life force represents the fever creeping higher and higher, slowly killing him. When you use the time stop ability you can hear his heartbeat, slightly sluggish, waiting for him to wake up before he slips into a coma. And the Seven Rings are how his brain is processing the emotions he's going through facing his own possible death. But at the end of the game, Sonic manages to survive the infection and come out the other side, waking up with a broken fever and much milder symptoms that he quickly gets over. But that's just a theory... a GAME theory! A very dumb personal headcanon theory. Lol hope you enjoyed
I think, story wise, this is one of the better tales of the Blue Blur, I just wished that Shahra didn't try to betray Sonic, I think what might have been a little better is when Shahra summons Sonic, it's not to tricking him to collect the rings cause only an outsider could touch the rings, or out of a desire to remain with Erazor, but to get them and keep them away from Erazor, until he attaches the flame to Sonic, and later when she takes the rings, she would instead try to claim that she was the one who gathered them with Sonic helping, but, like originally, Sonic makes his wish to stop her. Erazor sees through Shahra's lie, tries to kill Sonic, but Shahra sacrifices herself anyway, making Sonic be more enraged to the fact that not only did Erazor kill his friend, he failed on saving her. I still would keep the whole idea that Shahra and Erazor were once lovers, but Shahra broke it off after Erazor became corrupt.

And his unwavering bravery despite his life running out along with the flame… you just don’t see the serious side I described earlier in most games and his confidence sometimes overshadows his bravery because he isn’t usually showed in a tight spot so he can be brave. The only other example I can think about was when he was fighting a pointless battle with a broken sword against merlina in the black knight. That cutscene still gives me chills to this day

Sonic caught something WAY worse, and the whole game is the fever dream he's having as his body tries desperately to fight off the infection. The flame in his heart draining his life force represents the fever creeping higher and higher, slowly killing him. When you use the time stop ability you can hear his heartbeat, slightly sluggish, waiting for him to wake up before he slips into a coma. And the Seven Rings are how his brain is processing the emotions he's going through facing his own possible death.
But at the end of the game, Sonic manages to survive the infection and come out the other side, waking up with a broken fever and much milder symptoms that he quickly gets over.
But that's just a theory... a GAME theory! A very dumb personal headcanon theory. Lol hope you enjoyed

I think, story wise, this is one of the better tales of the Blue Blur, I just wished that Shahra didn't try to betray Sonic, I think what might have been a little better is when Shahra summons Sonic, it's not to tricking him to collect the rings cause only an outsider could touch the rings, or out of a desire to remain with Erazor, but to get them and keep them away from Erazor, until he attaches the flame to Sonic, and later when she takes the rings, she would instead try to claim that she was the one who gathered them with Sonic helping, but, like originally, Sonic makes his wish to stop her. Erazor sees through Shahra's lie, tries to kill Sonic, but Shahra sacrifices herself anyway, making Sonic be more enraged to the fact that not only did Erazor kill his friend, he failed on saving her. I still would keep the whole idea that Shahra and Erazor were once lovers, but Shahra broke it off after Erazor became corrupt.
Also would've like is Sonic's final form in this game was his Dark Form
