TDH very quickly became one of my favorite bands when I discovered them last September. The breadth of the styles, and maintaining a consistent depth between styles. My favorite is The Bitter Suite IV and V from the album Act IV
I've been a metalhead since about 2018. I've always liked heavy stuff and when I really got into metal I realized it was my genre. However, I discovered this band back in 2015 and for a good 3 years they were all I listened to. I still remember being the only one awake late one night, deciding to search for some music, and finding this band. I listened to one song that blew me away, listened to a few more on that album, and knew I had found something special. As much as I love metal, I'd love to experience that feeling of hearing The Dear Hunter for the first time again. A few days ago I got the itch to listen to them again, and that lead to me checking UA-cam to see if other people were discovering them. Saw you two had done a few songs recently, and thought I'd jump in here to say that if you're thinking of doing a full album, I highly recommend Act IV: Rebirth in Reprise. This was the album that had just came out and that I heard several songs from that night. I love every track on it and it will always have an emotional effect on me due to what was going on in my life at the time I found this band. You've heard one track from it already, Is There Anybody Here?, but being able to hear how each song transitions into the next will make it a better experience. Just bring up the album stream, hit play, and enjoy the feelings.
Wow what a super experience you've had with this band. Thank you for such a heartfelt share and suggestion. We can tell this band has something special!
The cool thing about the color spectrum is that there is a series of EP 3-4 songs each represented by the full color spectrum, each representing a different style of writing or different instrumentation, but it's all in the creation of The Dear Hunter.
Started following you cuz you reacted to The Dear Hunter. So TDH is my fav band of all time. The guy doing backup vocals is Andy Hull from Manchester Orchestra. They are good friends. Man O are the BEST complete band around right now. TDH are my fav, but I may take MO for my deserted island discography.
Oh, you mentioned an album listen thru. They are really prog, story driven. There are synopsis guides for each song/act that really make it more meaningful.
I'm glad you've been enjoying this band so much! If you are thinking of checking out a full album of theirs, I would suggest their latest titled "Antimai." I really enjoy this album, and at the moment the concept is self-contained because it's the first in a string of albums that will be telling a story. To give a general overview, this album is about the different districts within a dystopian sci-fi city. I hope you check it out, and I would suggest having the lyrics up to read along. Thanks!
Loving the Dear Hunter experience!!!

Oh shit... that sounds amazing. What a great concept
As a starting point, the beginning of a new concept is the way to start. Antimai would be a modern day Chicago meets musical theater.
I think you guys should just react to the act albums at this point. ;)
Be sure to have lyrics pulled up for full effect.
Yea, I gotta start unlocking their music asap. I'm absolutely loving this band.
I'm in!!!!
