This man is truly a paragon of comedy. Took 1 super chat that probably meant nothing and ran with it for months to such a satisfying climax. Most people would have ignored it or let the joke die, but Bettel saw the potential and spun a wild ride on the fly. I got to see the birth of August 19th live, and I can't believe how far it's escalated. Godspeed, Bettel: you'll need all the luck in the world.
The awesomeness of the cover and the performance aside, I just wanted to point out just how damn clever the whole August 19th EXPERIENCE itself was. Starting from the legendary but simple Heff SC, Betsy was able to cook up not just a bit but an entire MYTHOLOGY revolving around the almost 2012 Mayan calendar-esque countdown to damnation, leading up to a highly-viewed event stream with lots of cool variety content, and all capped off with this new cover of a (very fitting) song. This is the absolute peak. There's no way Bettel can top this...until his next big event comes around, of course.

This cover got me interested in Deadman Wonderland, which I proceeded to read in its entirety throughout the past 4 days, I recommend reading it if you like guro or the indomitable human spirit. I can't put into words how amazing this cover is, his tones and inflections were perfect for this song. I remember the guys mentioning One Reason back when Monster released, but it didn't click with me this was it until one second before the song title flashed. Deadman Wonderland fits so much especially with the context of August 19th. Amazingly done, Bettel! But also, o7 to the other Bettels in other realities that had to die for you to survive.
