love how Linus had to sponsor it but you ended up with a product placement for free
Lol, Linus would be bouncing off the walls, throwing hardware on the floor, joking around with his mates and here we have Marques being so gentle, doing an ASMR voice, pre-checking his build. Just so professional. Not used to this. :D
🤣, LTT rocks
Not to mention my favourite part "will it post on first try?"
Linus is also a professional, his job was building PCs before he was a UA-camr. Hell, he still does PC build videos regularly.
@@youdonegoofed It's just weird how inane he acts just for the camera. Like, who is he appealing to with that personality? He could still keep his eccentric personality without having to be a goofball for the views
@@umamifan Part of it is probably his true character. I don't think they could be "in-character" consistently for so many videos if he's not a more frantic personality type in real life.
Marques, Linus and "Jerry" in one building pc video... today I witnessed history!
I love how everytime marques mentions the screwdriver he looks directly at the camera as if Linus is there , pointing a gun at him
Because he is reading off the teleprompter
He is!
LMAO!!! this comment win!
@@potatopotatopotatopotatopo8746 nnnnoooooooooo. It's for comedic effect.

That Intel Arc was the most unexpected hardware on the table.
When he pulled out the box I literally went bruh
If it's a high end video editing machine it still makes sense
@@FlameOnTheBeat Not necessarily, there are reasons to have a computer with a stronger CPU than GPU.
@@lord6162 not really, the GPU is used heavily in rendering isn’t it?

Great video! The build turned out great. Happy to see a collab between two of my favorite tech channels.
Now its easier to speak with hindsight now, and things have changed of course. But I will still criticise, for educational purposes, the video:
1. This build is wholly 'High-End'. Everything apart from he gpu is. Thats like calling the RX 6700xt 'High-end'. Nah, its a solid but budget 1440p card.
2. You didn't say how much each part costs and total build cost. This is huge as people need to truly see the Cpu-Gpu imbalance. If you di an I5-12600k with the A770, THAT WOULD MAKE so much more sense (sorry didn't mean caps).
3. You really aren't supposed to front mount an AIO. Yes it works, but more dust gets towards the fans. Moreover (idk the exact science) but the cables are less optimised that way too.
4.. When doing the final shots of the completed build (14:45) , the 2 top fans are the wrong way round.
5. You only tested 1 game my friend. Yes time constraints and all that. But you tested ONE game. Come on now everyone else tests a good several and at 2 different resolutions. Hell even if you didn't have time to test at 1080p testing say 5 games at 1440p would have been actually a good test of the PC.
But I hope since its been a while now you know do these things. As well as doing: XMP profiles for ram, using Cinebench to test CPU etc.
Good to see Intel finally get back into the discreet GPU game. Looks like a great contribution. Hope they keep releasing great products.
More competition almost always benefits the consumer. This is great!
Arc has been effectively cancelled inside Intel for discrete GPUs over the next 3 years or so due to massive failures within the hardware team. For context, this GPU and its higher end brethren were supposed to release in Q1.
This GPU, specifically, the A770, was released at a loss to save face.
Don't expect anything too significant or competitive from Intel for at least 3-4 years.
@@Walkop Source, "Moore's Law is dead" and for some reason that matters more than Pat Gelsinger himself.

Intel Arc getting it's first UA-cam running debut on MKBHD was unexpected
The card actually looks really nice when the system is powered on.
Unexpected indeed, but Marques is very known for having his tech weeks early, so it's kinda fitting
@@supersuede91 yeah it looks clean af but i would choose a regular 3060 ti over that intel has so much work to do
@@MonicaHolly143 Bruh the A770 has 16gb of VRAM, 3060 has some sh*tty 8gb vram

It’s amazing how Marques and Linus have such different styles yet both work incredibly well. Linus is constantly hyper while Marques is constantly calm. Great collab!
You don't have to be hyper to use Linus screw driver 😂😂
It shows that if you want to be successful on any media platform you just need to be yourself and people will come. Don't try to imitate the style of someone who is already successful. You will just appear fake.
Linus pretty much fucks everything up that requires professionalism and long-term focus.
His server, storage & smart home projects are complete garbage and he even forgets to monitor them and runs off to do something useless before the job is finished… like an IT version of ADHD.
And then he creates more videos about fixing the crap he effed up in the first place - just causing more issues or data loss.
Marques on the other hand. He‘s the real deal!
@@maxking3 Clearly you don’t understand the difference between an on screen persona and what someone is actually like. You can’t get to where he is by being incompetent.

You should flip your top fans to exhaust (14:47) x5 120mm intakes and only x1 120mm rear exhaust is definitely some positive pressure.
Thought the same this moment - but noone seems to care.
Eh, little extra positive pressure keeps dust out lol. The parts he has probably won't be creating tons of heat buildup anyway with 6 fans going and the AIO. But it would look nicer, so either way prob works fine.
Not to mention he doesn’t have fans on the rad, those were the three that came from the front of the case.
yeah I was wondering why no one was talking about a few of his slight wrong doings too@@Pirate85getready

That is definitely unexpected
Bruh the Arc card looks good - looks way better than NVIDIA's founder edition cards. It looks so sleek and the lights are awesome.
Actually, not really all that surprising. Intel cards for the moments are the top dog when it comes to AV1 encoding. nd AV1 encoding is among the best, if not The Best encoder out there today.

I like how everyone skips the cable managing part of youtube videos. It's honestly the hardest part to figure out where everything goes on the motherboard.
Not to mention boring
Most things can only be plugged in in one way, for most other things where you can plug it in in multiple ways, it doesn't really matter which way you do it. For the things that does matter, there's lots of guides that does cover it. The reason most videos skips that part, is that it can easily take as long or longer to get some nice cable managing, as it does to build the whole rest of the computer. Can't really do a 30+ minute computer building video where 25mins of the video is just cable management. It'd kill your stats for that video, which affects how your future videos are recommended to others.
Really, to see things like that, you kind of have to go to smaller channels. Larger channels can't afford to make those types of videos, since it not only means less revenue on that video compared to if they made a video about something different that day, but because it can affect the revenue on many videos following that.
It's just the sad truth of how UA-cam works.

11:00 - Had a moment just like this when I was building my latest pc, it's the little creative solutions to these problems that make the build so fun :D (or hell, depends on how well you're prepared lol)
First video I've seen of yours, you're fun to watch my man +1 sub.
looks awesome! Quick note about the CPU cooler, as long as the pump is lower than where the hoses come out of the radiator, you're good, no harm in doing it that way. A lot of times you cant put the hoses on the bottom anyways when you front mount it because the hoses aren't long enough to reach going around the GPU.
yeah I hate that the incorrect orientation confusion is still doing the rounds.
For anyone who's still confused about this: Hoses up doesn't hurt anything, but can result in noise as air bubbles may end up getting sucked through the pump when they collect at the top of the radiator where the tubes are in that case. The only real bad orientation is pump above rad, as the air bubbles can end up collecting in and being trapped in the pump leading to it running dry (no coolant flow - cpu overheating and potential pump damage if run dry long enough)
Don't Matter. It's made and tested to work with it's pressure. Up, down or sideways.
Unless it's MSI ofc

Did that CPU cooler come with thermal paste pre-applied? Because that could be a recipe for poor performance...
that was a surprising omission haha
Yes it did... but no you'd be wrong to assume it would have poor performance. As many tested the difference is not that noticeable.
The thermal paste is pre-applied, if anything it should be superior to how many people would apply it themselves. All of the tests I have seen online comparing different thermal pastes have shown little to no difference in thermal performance, there is definitely a difference in the price that can be paid for them though.
@@-opus I misspoke; I meant if it didn't have thermal paste pre-applied, and it was clear in the video that he plopped the cooler straight from the box (ripped off the plastic on the same shot), then there would be no thermal paste at all (pre-applied or otherwise) and it would have performance issues.
Linus has evolved from getting sponsors to becoming one
and still has less subs than mkbhd LMAO
@@tahmidrahman5367 has more channels, and gets way more views than MKBHD though.
@@tahmidrahman5367 Literally the most hilarious thing I've read today. I'm even laughing other body parts off

12:31 I almost wanted to say "mine", but on my build I found out that the case fans were molex... after I had mounted the modular power supply.
There's always something to improve, but mine went without any hitch bigger then 'needing to find the molex to power supply cable'.
After finishing the build I found out I had an old fan header->molex, but that would've made the front look less pretty.
your thumbnail is so funny to me cause its like okay let me look into the camera and hold the screwdriver here.
Love the satisfying ratchet sound of the screwdriver, LTT really nailed the refining.
It's trippy watching Marques building a pc, feel like I entered the twilight zone

I'm surprised in 2022 that that tiny thing is 4tb worth of storage. Amazing.
I often think about this stuff and get called a boomer for it lol
Exciting to see someone 'new' entering the space, competition is good for everyone 😊
Love the video!!! It’s really fun to see MKBHD do something we know he can do but doesn’t normally focus on specifically.

Love to see two of my favorite tech youtubers working together again
Noticed that you removed that upper bracket from the video card and then at the end it was put in its place. :D Like it
Nice build. I would have started the pc outside of the box to make sure it worked.
It's criminal that Marques doesn't give more attention to the Intel ARC: First ever custom build we've seen of it?? This is groundbreaking stuff!
Intel wasn’t the sponsor and he’s not Linus. Nothing about the ARC is impressive yet anyways. Promising to see what they do with it in the long run though.
@@shanelsmith34 that's not true. The encoding/decoding is super impressive.
@@DanKaschel average person who build pcs don’t care about encoding or decoding. Purpose of video was to highlight the use of the screwdriver
Did nobody saw how the game nearly froze every 5 seconds?
@@s6yx I agree with both of those statements, neither of which contradict mine.
This was very entertaining to see your take on PC building after not doing it for so long. Great video!
I had the exact same problem when I was building my PC as well.
And I also came up with the same solution as well.
