I have wanted to can food for years...I’m 55 years old...and was so afraid of the explosion or messing up...but I started watching you and a few other people who show the process and I went out (on the internet lol) and bought an All American canner. 😁😁😁 today I canned 16 pints of carrots, 7 pints ground beef and 8 pints of cubed beef. 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 I cannot thank you enough for your videos that empower me to start prepping for this next year. I pray God blesses you for being a faithful servant to His people. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 much love from the Hoosier state ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

Amen, she made it easier for us too and we have done butter, beef, chicken, peaches and strawberry, next is carrots and veggie broth! We bought one for my mother and father in law since they live alone and she can preserve leftovers for them! Freezing stuff ruins the flavor and we will be doing stews and soups etc for my husband for work. he's a pilot and wont have to worry about keeping meals frozen!!

The GF and I can tomatoes, onions, and green peppers together for a convenient mix to cook up spaghetti sauce or chili for those time when its not "convenient".. or horrors of horror "out of a commercial can/jar"..My recipe??? FAM, another awesome tutorial. You weren't really off with your jar count, just the size. I know this because, I do it all the time. We get the quart on the brain. Thank you for keeping this process going. To many of us are learning how to slay our edges, contour our face, push back our cuticles and to sew in a track. All this has a place. But none of this will make a "T_ _ _" as my Mother and Mama would say. This way of life, isn't for the faint of heart, no pun intended. I can attest, its the best life. No need for gym memberships. You'll get an all day work out. Facials, no problem standing over those canners sterilizing and removing jars, will help you with that. Slaying those edges, yep just keep it tied. Pushing back those cuticles. Just a regular day of work, will do that for you. Contouring, lol. Just a good wash and a moisturizer is all that's needed to shine. Homesteading or farming women, have an outer and an inner beauty. This beauty can't be purchased in stores, it's earned. Thank you Sis, for your channel. I am glad to see someone who looks like me, doing what I do. It's s JOY. And you keep it real while doing it. My Most High GOD. Knows this. Much Respect and Success. Peace always.

Good morning. Growing up, some of the things we canned were 'seconds' from the grocery store or Tonaka Farms produce market. Blemishes don't mean bad. I don't care how 'pretty' people think it has to look in the jar, pretty doesn't always equate to a better taste. Cut the bad spots/ bruises off and keep going. I also appreciate how you determine how you will use the food to decide on the size jar that will work best. I think some people automatically think 'quart' jar but most of the time a pint will suffice. If you need more, open two. I dry-canned all of my flour in pints. Most recipes call for 2 cups.... exactly a pint jar. That has helped me eliminate the large canister jar on my counter that I have trouble opening anyway! LOL. Thanks for taking us along. Be safe, Be prepared, Be Blessed

Got to share a hack with you. you can't find any tools for canning anywhere. While shopping at Dollar general I looked through the clearance and found that they sell clay working tools which are a hard plastic and perfect for getting the air out of the jars before placing the caps on,one of them has a perfect blunt end that I was able to melt and secure a magnet onto so I can fish my lids out of the hot water with. I got them for a dollar fifty that's four of them.Grandma always said necessity is the mother of invention! And I'm off on my Canning adventure. Thanks mrs. Heart.

Had to come back to get a refresher lol I harvested 1 bed grated till my arm almost fell off but filled 3 dehydrators and now I am cutting up carrots for canning. I grew 2 big above ground beds and staggered their growing by 1 month so not to overwhelm myself 😁 I hear your momma waste not want not!

I just finished canning carrots yesterday. I made them chunky and put dehydrated onion, beef bouillon powder and a pinch of tarragon in each jar. Nothing feels more rewarding than to hear the pop of the sealing of the jars.
I learned how to do this using my canning books plus watching UA-cam videos.
    Great skill to have.

Watching this as I am doing potatoes 🥔 in the kitchen. Your dog starts barking. My dog comes running from the living room barking, the cat ran from the kitchen! Lol!! Hilarious! I calmed my dog down. He went back to the living room. When your dog started again, we went through it again! Lol! He had to rescue me in the kitchen! He’s never done that before, guess your dog has a good voice. Thank you for the laugh!

So someone told me to not use the oven to sterilize my jars because dry heat causes microscopic cracks in your jars that eventually will break the jar. We are here to help each other you teach me so much and I pass on to you what I have learned. Wishing you the best..
