I’ll be making that same journey next month except I’ll be on Disney Cruise Line from Juneau to Ketchikan. I will see the Juneau airport if the weather holds up. I have a helicopter to walk on a glacier scheduled.
Believe me, I'd love to do that. Sadly though, the smaller and more obscure the plane/route, the worse a video performs. I have to be very selective with those types of flights as they never make any money back. And they're generally more expensive to start with anyway.
Well, kind of. It's not premium economy in the sense of what international premium economy is, but you do get quite a lot more leg room. So it's domestic premium economy, or extra legroom seats.
Well, I'm not 100% on the specifics, but I suspect it has something to do with the aircraft causing moisture in the air to condense due to the pressure difference that's created by the wing as it moves through the air. Then of course, the sun would do its thing and create that effect as the light passes through the water in the air that's condensed. Since clouds are just moisture in the air anyway, as long as the sun is behind you, you're inevitably going to get some rainbow effects as the light passes through the water anyway. So the aircraft creating that extra condensation to happen probably only exaggerates the effect. That's my best guess!

What causes that "rainbow" effect in the plane's reflection on the clouds?
