I am considering these for a Metod stand alone kitchen cabinet but they appear to stick out too much when the door is open. My fear is that these openers could be caught by clothing etc when the door is open and could be a trip hazard/ pull-the-unit-from-the-wall hazard etc. After seeing this video I am inclined not to purchase and perhaps purchase soft close hinges instead

This is an old video but in the bag with the besta hunger and this decide there are metal brackets. What do those brackets do? What are they used for? There is absolutely nothing on the bag that tells you what they’re used for!
hmm, how would this work in a cabinet with double doors? Unless you want to drill into the bottom and mount it "on the floor" of the cabinet or possibly the lowest shelf I don't see how you'd do this.
Maybe on the "ceiling" of the double cabinet? You will need to press the top of the door to open and close it securely and conveniently. Where you will push open.
@@k-nemo I am sure that would work yes, however... as that would be well out of reach without a footstool, it would be... somewhat inconvenient :) I am in the final touches of assembling my new kitchen and I do hate that idea of drilling holes for the handles in them. Ikeas webpage lack the assembly manual for this particular item, was looking at videos such as yours for information.

Hi, how do I stop the doors dropping towards the middle...? The gaps are fine on the hinge side but the weight if the door seems to be too much for the hinges. TIA.
@@AR_909 A R The doors are pretty big, they can't drop into the cupboard. I think the best idea is to take the door off the hinge, double check if the hinge is put in the right place. Had to take mine off the cupboards as kids kept catching their arms or parts of their bodies on them when they reached into the cupboards I think they dangerous
I don't sure it's dangerous, children are just generally curious or careless. When you think about it, grapes, plastic bags or trees are dangerous for the kids. too

You can get some fixings free of charge in Ikea. Check the number of parts in manual.

I managed to remove them with 2 little forks. Gently push one of the fork-tips into each of the two clips at the backside and then it comes out again!

Yes, you can install the opener at the top or bottom but you have to remember you will have to press near the opener to open the door.

The wardrobe has handles / knobs. Using a push opener wouldn't be practical and the pre-drilled holes for the handles will be visible

Are the doors actually dropping into the middle of the cupboard or are not inline with the side.
@@k-nemo I think they're dropping... I have tried adjusting the screw as shown in the vid, but it doesnt work. The gaps are all over the place...
