This movie is based on the TV show of the same title. Lee Majors played the main character, Colt Seavers. It aired from 1981-1986. I used to watch it when I was a kid.

This is a movie spin-off of the original TV series in the 80's and I'm looking forward to it. Lee Majors was the actor in the series
I enjoyed this movie a lot. There were plenty of nods to the original TV series and the main actor Lee Majors. The cameos by the original actors from Fall Guy TV series. Several times during the movie I heard the running sound effect used from the Six Million Dollar Man that also starred Lee Majors.
I was planning on seeing it next week. I am looking forward to it even more since the two of you liked it.
Glad to here it’s a throwback! I loved the TV show staring Lee Majors so I was really hoping for that old school feel.

Most people are posting that they had a blast. I think young teen boys and families will enjoy it. I plan to see it this weekend.
You should try "Hooper" real stunts, absolutely zero cgi.

Thank You for your Honest input...... Being a guy that LUV'd the TV Show, From the Previews/Trailers I was wondering if they had made it too campy and possibly not follow the theme/spirit of the Original Material.......
I have not a been a big theater goer the last 14 years, So I will consider buying a DVD/Blu-Ray when it is released......
May Practical effects always be in Summer Blockbusters.

One thing that drove me nuts, besides how much they changed some of the characters, is how they didn't use The Unknown Stuntman song from the show in the 80s in any of the commercials or trailers. At least they brought back the 1980 GMC K2500 from the show.
It's a film I saw on holiday I loved it especially with Emily Blunt I'd watch her read out the phone book, definitely going again to see it.
Have you ladies seen the original TV series? Growing up in the 80s, I loved the TV show. It had the typical cheesy acting, fight scenes, and plots, but it also didn't take itself seriously. It had one the best opening credits songs ever. Having seen the show, my big issue will be, how does it compare. The original Colt Seavers was a stuntman that moonlighted as a bounty hunter. Each episode centered on that and not his job as a stuntman. The fact that they took that element out tells me that they could have called this movie by any other name and they just chose Fall Guy to give it a nostalgic throwback. I'm glad you two enjoyed it and I will watch it too and decide for myself.

My late brother was a big fan of the 80s TV series starring Lee Majors and Heather Thomas. The cool classic Chevy 4 wheel drive pickup was a star too.
If you want a fun movie about stunt people, watch Hooper starring Burt Reynolds and Sally Fields
I don't know if you knew it or not, but there was a television series called The Fall Guy starring Lee Majors back in the 70s

Yes. I mean, we must have watched a totally different movie from the one Grace watched. I'm rewatching her review and I can't square it with the movie I just watched.

@@ForceOfLightEntertainment - well some full episodes are on UA-cam & Dailymotion that I found and on other such free video streaming sites (the full show & every season used to be on both on FreeVee & TUBI a while back but they must have been taken down because of the movie coming out. Licensing issues probably)....Since y'all were talking about seeing the movie again, why not catch a few episodes of the original TV show to compare and contrast (it might make an interesting video for your channel) 😁

Having grown up watching the original television show I'm not really sure about the movie . It looks kinda like a parody much like Chips was . Maybe I'll give it a try but I'm skeptical about it.

Could of used some spoilers with warning just to peak my interest more, but it’s okay. I like Emily Blunt, but am I the only one tired of British actors taking roles that should go to Americans ? It was an American TV show it’s based on not something from BBC. Has there ever been an American James Bond 007, of course not. BTW you both looked ready for your closeup and stunning as usual ! 🧡😍💚

It looks like the only connection is that Ryan Gosling's character drives a truck similar to the one Lee Majors had in the show. It all looks like some kind of parody of the show, like most modern versions of old shows.
Sounds a fun film. Did i see Natalie with green eyes? Could have sworn you both had brown eyes. No matter, have good one.

We can’t tell you that as neither have seen the show. Some have said in the comments that it has some nods but is mostly its own thing.
