Jar Jar knocks over Qui Gon and Ani. Ha! Meesa clumsy. Jar Jar and Ani pack would have been great. I would have loved the collapsed Pit Droid accessory. Doesn’t barrel on Padme’s gun extend/collapse? I love the IG photo with Vader’s helmet. Padme likes the bad boys. Looking forward to Destroyer Droid. Would have loved a helmet for Ani, prefer Pod Racer one. Probably would have had to be swappable head. Great review. I wonder how soon they give the Padawans who are too old the opportunity to go and construct their lightsaber?

Good review. I got them both yesterday and I gotta say I am really loving what little anakin brings to the shelf. iconic look of a huge character and the variety of scale all just adds up to a great piece of the collection.
Do I want more episode 1 figures? 1000% yes!! It’s great to add two prequel characters that are NOT wearing white armor or brown robes to my shelf that has been absolutely starving for it.
Queen Amidala in the red dress is THE icon of TPM and now that we have a droideka, and SBD, and a darth sidious coming, she is now my no.1 most wanted figure in the entire line. That single figure would bring more to this line than any other figure just because of the iconic status of the look and how much it represents the first Star Wars episode.
Besides that, at a minimum we need Panaka, Naboo soldier, Watto, uncovered 3po, Boss Nass, Capt. Tarpals, Nute Gunray, senator palps (to make the blue royal guard in the line have a purpose) and sebulba
I agree Anakin looks great on the shelf, but I still wish he had something else!
We need a phantom menace 3po it would be such an awesome sculpt. I’d love some of the sepratist like gunray that could be from phantom menace. Bossnass would also be cool and more gungan warriors

I am so relieved to see that Padme's head looks a LOT better here than in the solicitation pictures.

Hello Mike I enjoy hearing what you like and dislike on black series figures.
I got my young Anikin Skywalker and Padme from Amazon. I would have ordered them from BBTS but they were charging a dollar more for Anikin, bad enough he's supposed to be the same price as regular figures but a dollar more, no thanks.
I've already got Jar Jar, paid full price for him, thinking about getting a second to put one of Josh's Sith robes on LoL 🤣.
I missed out on original Quigon, but did get the photo real Phantom Menace version.
Missed out on Obi-Wan Padawan figure completely, hopefully a new sculpt for Obi-Wan some day.
Definitely getting 2 Destroyer Droids, on preorder now. And I've got a few Battle Droids for maintaining order in the capital.

I would love a Naboo guard figure that's like the Hoth rebel trooper, with alternate faces and stuff. I think that'd be really cool.
Also, a Captain Panaka and Tarpals would be nice!

Hey Mike, glad you're back! I'm all in for TPM and glad to have these two, but yeah Anakin being so incomplete stings like a midichlorian sample! Great likeness tho, and glad they made this Padme outfit as it's my fav. Definitely a little stingy with the paint all around, they almost pass for retro/kenner style. Love the gold trim on Padme. A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.

Anakin is a rough $25. But.... I like him, I needed him and I want more Phantom Menace figs so he was an easier grab. What's gonna be more painful is when they release him in the other two helmeted figs at twenty five bucks a piece. Trying to mentally prepare myself for that. I like both but once they are on my shelf I may not take them down again. Padme's boots are dirty but Anakin's are clean. Thanks for the video, Mike. It's always fun to see your thoughts.

I would be excited for a Nute Gunray, a Boss Nass, and a Naboo Soldier with multiple faces (like the Hoth and Endor troopers)

I love Phantom menace, it was my very first star wars movie, ill never forget the first time i watched it. I did not understand the hate, watching it as a kid it was epic and something new that i never seen before, glad to see it finally getting some love in black series. I agree with you that they should of given Anakin his helmet , because if you look at Omega she got her weapon and Ruby the little creature, all he has is just a backpack which is Hasbro kinda cheaping out. I wouldnt mind a new Retooled Darth Maul with a cloth hood, a watto, some more Jedi etc from episode 1
It definitely really depended on what age you were to largely determine how much you liked the movie. I know older fans were expecting something that matched the OT a bit more tonally. I was somewhere in the middle. I loved parts of the movie, but I wasn’t ready for the lengthy trade negotiation and senate scenes. And I felt a bit too old for Jar Jar.
How is there still no queen Amadilla??

I think the reason Disney or whoever allowed them to include the extra hand with Padme is because she is fanchannel so she won't show up in stores (Excluding gamestop) Like how the deluxe palpatine could have heads and hands visible as he was only sold on amazon

Hi Mike,
You wondered how Hasbro could moulded robes and still get figures to pose well. Check out Jada's Street Fighter figs. They use a more flexible rubber. I don't know if it'll degrade over time, but the figures pose great. Chun Li and Ryu are prime examples. Rheir articulation is head and shoulders above Hasbro's figs.
I haven’t gotten any yet, but I agree, they look good.

I wouldn’t mind getting an ‘unfinished’ 3PO in 1/12 scale from the Phantom Menace.
Finally, Anakin would have been great if he came with his pod racer in a deluxe set.

Jake Lloyd's mother stated just recently he was not bullied and it did not contribute to his issues later in life, but suffered from a psychological issue like what his father had. Please stop promoting that false narrative Mike.
Incorrect. Partially. What I said was “people bullied you”. Which is true. His mom even said so in the interview. Bullying at school happened, bullying online happened.
What his mom said in the interview was that he was largely shielding from online stuff and the bullying didn’t contribute to his mental health decline or quitting acting. Which isn’t something I said happened in the video.
Just that he got bullied. Which he did. That is a fact.
@@MikeKaess bulling at school happens to most people but but the way you state it makes it sound like it affected him and contributed to his mental health issues which it didn't unlike what happened to the actor who played Jar Jar.
You’re reading into what I said more than what I said. Child actors shouldn’t be bullied. Even to the point where Ron Howard wrote a letter to Newsweek about how they critiqued his performance. It happened online. It happened in school. All I said was it shouldn’t have happened.
@@MikeKaess I might be but your statements through me out of the review. I think we all can agree bullying a child or a child actor is wrong but do I need that in a review of a figure.. I may be in the minority here but I think not. That being said I still enjoyed the review and both figures sit on my Prequels shelf for all my friends to enjoy.
It was all of 2 lines in a review. I’m glad you enjoyed it, but maybe try not being so sensitive.
