Hello! This one is up in the Via Faro area in Scalea so about a mile from the beach and shops and services however you can easily get there on an E-bike which you can buy even if you are not a resident.

Several weeks ago I viewed your video showing the results of Justin and Michael's reno and I finally crossed the bridge of realization that in order to get a decades-old apartment to be nicer than the condition most of them are in, I'm going to need to buy. I don't mean modern American kitchen nice, but just something nicer than a lot of these older apartments currently are. True for Italy, Portugal, Spain and other countries. Has this apartment had a reno done because it's incredible as it is now. Hoping to visit in the Fall.

It looks to be in beautiful shape. most of the apartments need some love in various areas but honestly renovations here are so inexpensive that with a few bucks you can have a gorgeous place with your own touches. Kitchens here are considered furniture so you can get them for way less than you would a kitchen in the US. Our last renovation kitchen was huge with all really goo. appliances and features and it only cost us 13K which is a lot for a kitchen here.
Hello, Is this apartment freehold or leasehold? I ask because some properties advertised at low prices in Scalea are actually leasehold, which I understand in Italy is a maximum of 30 years. Second, is there much life in this community in the winter? Thank you.
Hi! Excellent point! We have seen that too and there is a certain amount of bait and switch happening on certain websites where you think you are getting freehold but it is in fact, leasehold. However there are many apartments in Scalea that are in this price range simply because there are a lot of them and at any given time someone is selling. These were built in the 80's when there was a building boom. This is a freehold condominium. This is up on the hill overlooking Scalea which is a good sized town. Although it is quieter in Winter there is still a lot of life as many people actually live there. It is not like the towns that completely shutter in Winter. There is a lot going on.
Nice property I was retired US Navy and was stationed in Catania Sicily 2017-2018 I was considering moving to Europe calabria is much cheaper than Catania but Catania got airport I’m interested with 7% tax rate my Tricare insurance will cover my medical so it’s not a factor following your video

How can condos be so cheap? I'm shopping for a condo here in Quebec city and that would be around $150,000. I can't wait to move to Italy. I'm worried about fascism coming back though.
