Mary had a generational voice, Peter and Paul, two wonderful voices and now only Paul is still with us……. a true American legendary group, can’t stop listening to their music, so good.
Sometimes when I hear this I think how simple life was! Now, I was not born when this was on the radio, but I feel like God tells us that slow down and listen to the simple things in life, and this is one of these things. Little Miracles I will say. But take care everyone and stay blessed...
It wasn’t easy, it’s just that you weren’t there. Seems like all the times have their hard times but over time it turns grey & is let go of for other newer hard times. But one thing good music stays good.💕
Wonderful group such great performers thank you PPM. AMAZING BRILLIANT PPM had it in BUCKET LOADS. I was blessed to see PPM live. PETER WADE. TWEED HEADS. AUSTRALIA.
My folks were very poor when I was a kid. Their music is what I learned to love because it was the only entertainment my sister and I knew, being without TV or Radio. All we had was an old record player and Mama and Daddy's old records. Anyway, the memory makes me so happy, and somewhat proud, to be from such humble beginnings. Folk music reminds me of them and I will cherish those memories for all of my lifetime.
When first I heard this song, I immediately had to learn to play guitar. Like that. Travis style fingerpicking. Thank God for them- I did, and still do.
And they were best live and in any venue From Small Auditoriums to Carnegie Hall to outside marches for peace and civil Rights. I saw them from their beginning
This takes me back to my high school days in the very early 60's. While other kids were collecting rock and roll records, I was collecting folk music. I still have most of my records including Seeger, Baez, Dylan and many others. The covers are falling apart but because I took meticulous care of them, they are still in excellent shape. As I get older I have been giving my collection to my nephew as he is an audiophile and I taught him how to take care of them. He already has a collection of my records including one of the first editions of the Beatles White Album. He has also been contacted by collector to see if he wants to sell any of these records. His answer is always no.
That's the way it's supposed to be right there. Paul's voice is unmistakable especially in this song !! I'm 15 years ago listening to this at Klienhens music hall in Buffalo NY
To have seen their time 1961 to 1970 and on and off until Mary’s passing was such a richness to my spirit. Live at Carnegie Hall as a 14 y o 5 feet from the stage. Wow
I was (more or less) introduced to Peter Paul and Mary around 1961-2 as a freshman in high school. I was an office aide and the student with me who was a sophomore walked in one day with their first album (the brick wall background which available and let me look at it. Saw them in concert, enjoying all their songs and still do. My ex was a huge fan and met them in a guitar shop in Chicago.
i GREW UP listening to my brother play this music and others.every day and everynight. my first and real introduction into music. and listening to My brother singing along with them. also Kingston trio, the new Christy minstrels,

I borrowed the record from a girl. It was new in Sweden at that time and only available because she got it fram the US. I didn’t know anything about vinyl records. The sun came and the record was ruined. I paid for the record and still have it. This was a start. Me and my sister started to do covers. Later we met a boy - a much better guitar player than me. We were 3. We formed a cover band. Such happiness. We performed a lot and were lucky. 🥰
Mary had a generational voice, Peter and Paul, two wonderful voices and now only Paul is still with us……. a true American legendary group, can’t stop listening to their music, so good.
The most beautiful song I've ever heard ❤
Mary Travers was always a pretty lady but when she was in her early 40's she was absolutely gorgeous.
Best vocal blend in the history of folk. Just superb and unreachable. What a supremely worthy trio.
I had the chance to see them live in the late 60s...luv them
quelle chance
Me too. Carnegie Hall 1964 at 13
Me too, Melbourne Australia. Brilliant ❤

It was good until they took out JFK..I was 13..we lost our innocence and our morality that day.
By 1967 I was playing songs like this on my Vox 12 as a senior in HS
Until I went into the army...
That is so true. Life was much slower, things were easier and a slower pace of life. It seems as if greed rules today with greegy hands.
Sure miss this group today we’ve lost Peter
Wonderful group such great performers thank you PPM. AMAZING BRILLIANT PPM had it in BUCKET LOADS. I was blessed to see PPM live. PETER WADE. TWEED HEADS. AUSTRALIA.
One of THE greatest songs ever written. One of the greatest recordings ever recorded. Perhaps THE greatest harmony song ever recorded.
That's why were still watching it.😊

I remember my youth these three particularly their song 'puff the magic the dragon' will never be forgotten ever.

Indeed!!
The ultimate version. Sorry Bob, even though you wrote it, for which, thanks a million!
Indeed. I was privileged to have seen them as a 13 y o
In 1964. Live that is where you saw their magic.
You just need acoustic guitars and great vocals period They proved it
Beautiful Precious Memories Archive photos! Amazing music 🎶 🎵 🕊 💖
Great classic with some fantastic guitar work.

All over again !! I left that part off
She wanted my soul!!!
I think Peter is singing lead.
@@mdfaithfulcatholics7940 Nope. That is unmistakenly Paul singing lead.
Another great performance by my favorite group of all time. I will never forget them.

Just Beautiful.
These voices blending is more spiritual than any church or religion could hope to be.

Pedro, Pablo y María. Cuando la música de EEUU tenía sentido. ❤❤❤
Awesome!
Great song, great singers, amazing the number of songs written by Bob Dylan. I was lucky to see him in concert in Liverpool, later in his career.👍❤️👏
Why do you mention Bob Dylan? Gordon Lightfoot wrote it.
@@kimmacgregor02 there was a comment about Dylan
If we could only turn back time.
I sometimes think that too. But then I remember the things that weren't perfect. Life is what it is. Make the best of it every day!
Love you guys thanks for of the most love song of my time
素敵なメアリーさん、大好きです。
天山山脈様 ボブディランじやなくPPMこそノーベル賞にふさわしいと思うのですが。
Some great early photos, thanks for posting!
John Denver wrote and sang Leaving o. A Jet Plane, and they made a hit of it.
GOOD JOB!
Beautiful people
Is there anyone who could perform like this today ? I very much doubt it. In fact, you can be pretty sure: there’s no one.
Thanks Al!
Yup
" Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right "
… It ain't no use to sit and wonder why, babe
If'n you don't know by now
And it ain't no use to sit and wonder why, babe
It'll never do somehow
When your rooster crows at the break of dawn
Look out your window and I'll be gone
You're the reason I'm a-traveling on
But don't think twice, it's all right
_________________________
… And it ain't no use in turning on your light, babe
That light I never knowed
And it ain't no use in turning on your light, babe
I'm on the dark side of the road
But I wish there was somethin' you would do or say
To try and make me change my mind and stay
But we never did too much talking anyway
But don't think twice, it's all right
___________________________
… So it ain't no use in calling out my name, gal
Like you never done before
And it ain't no use in calling out my name, gal
I can't hear you anymore
I'm a-thinking and a-wonderin' walking down the road
I once loved a woman, a child, I'm told
I give her my heart but she wanted my soul
But don't think twice, it's all right
____________________________
… So long honey, babe
Where I'm bound, I can't tell
Goodbye's too good a word, babe
So I'll just say, "Fare thee well"
I ain't a-saying you treated me unkind
You could've done better but I don't mind
You just kinda wasted my precious time
But don't think twice, it's all right

Deusche Version
Also sage ich einfach: „Lebe wohl“

Better than the original of Bob Dylan
This is a Gordon Lightfoot song
当時友達から理由もわからず覚えさせられた、半世紀経っても指が動く(笑)
I like their version better than Bob Dylan and he wrote the song
It's not "All Right"?

I love this song and everything but whenever I listen to it the word “misogyny” comes to mind? Lol!
Why? There's nothing remotely misogynistic about the lyrics.
