Wolves had plenty of opportunities to win that game, the mavericks as a whole are a year or two ahead of the wolves in maturity and experience. As long as ANT stays in minny and Luka stays in Dallas, this WILL HE A HUGE RIVALRY

@@pelicanhill3251 correct the wolves definitely had opportunities in the WCF, but again… Kyrie has won a championship, he’s been around the block, Luka has a number of years under his belt now, plus adding Klay helps. They are def the better team rn, but let me remind you ANT is 22 years old, down the road he will be the best player on the court in the matchup. It’s eventually gonna turn into Luka vs ANT, Luka is better cause he has years of experience ant doesn’t have, and on top of that Luka played pro ball as teenager in Europe.

@@nicwyatt5064 I agree that Edwards will get better, but not sure he will reach Luka's level. To be fair, he's already miles better than Luka on defense, but offensively he just doesn't dominate in the same way. And Luka is only 2 years older.

@@pelicanhill3251 yeah LUKA is a monster offensively, I’m not sure if ANT can get to that level either, but also you never know. And yeah LUKA is still younger, but like I said he started played pro basketball in Europe at 14 I believe, so that’s a number additional years of experience over ANT. Yes it’s not the nba, but it’s also not high school ball and even college ball

Coming from a former collegiate basketball player and former Juco Assistant coach, rebounding is 100% effort based and moving into the proper position when the shot is in flight. The team watches the ball and expects Rudy to grab everything

Mavs true rivalry is San Antonio. They met several times in the playoffs during Dirk and Duncan’s era. And both teams won important series.
Now days, we have Suns, after the Booker Luka special series where Luka single handedly broke the suns.
I feel like Minny is a low key rivalry, as a mavs fan I feel like it’s always going to be a playoff atmosphere and so far I’ve been right. Luckily the NBA agrees which is why most of these games are on national tv. It just adds to the atmosphere.

As a Mavs fan, I think we are just a bad matchup for you guys. So not sure if this is a real rivalry, YET.
That being said: I think your team is fine and will win the KAT trade long term. Randle has such a bad reputation that he is one of the most underrated players in the league right now. On top of that DiVincenzo is a great 3/D role player. In combination they are worth more then KAT for me. Specially if your team is able to keep Randle for a fair contract (30-35 mio). Never seen a 25/10/4 guy (his stats the last 2 years in NY) get such a bad reputation...
That being said, I do not understand why your team plays such a small rotation so early in the season. Makes no sense for me. Where is Dillingham? Where are Miller/Minott? They might not play in the PO, sure. But man, at least test them early in the reg season to see if something is there to work with. You cannot really do that in traing sessions. Your team right now is the WC version of the Thibs Knicks, who are also already down to a 8 man rotation. If you burn out your main rotation so early in the season, you will have problems in the 2nd half and Playoffs.
Hence why I also dont like Luka playing heavy minutes right now. I get that he needs the reps, cause he missed the entire preseason, but over 37 so early? I would love to get those minutes down to 33 if possible. I would gladly take a view losses more, as long as Luka is in prime shape for the Playoffs. Give Dinwiddie or Hardy 3-4 more minutes and let them develop chemistry with our rotation.

“Lost a big lead”? Minnesota played great in the 1st quarter, but Dallas stayed close (within 10 points), and Dallas led at halftime and had the lead almost the entire 2nd half. The Wolves are a tough team (and Naz & Edwards are great to watch), but for the moment Dallas has their number. It’s just a matchup thing. I think when Dillingham becomes a starter that will turn the corner for the Wolves.

Wolves had to make the trade. You can suck it up all the live long day and try to play elite defense but the two team with hall of fame level offensive players you need to get past to win a chip is Mavs and Celtics. If they can be the 8th defense and 8th offense, something similar or in the vein of, they have a far better chance to win it all.

Only Minnesota fans with their low expectations would see good signs in a home loss against a team that was on the second half of a back-to-back. I get that some of the turnovers were from trying to integrate new players, but 20? And we still have the problem that we don't have anyone to take over in the clutch. That's the key difference between the two teams, they have 2 closers and we have none. This is not a rivalry, the Mavs are clearly in a class above.
