Wrong 7900X3D have 6 "gaming cores" and 6 "productivity cores" not 8+4, and 7800X3D have more power per chiplet (vs 7900x3d or 7950x3d). That often make 7800x3d fastest only gaming CPU.

you are right I regret 7900X3D and send it back, huge latency between CCD and far complicated core affinity process with game bar...and finaly i m not happy after all updates to reinstall everything or using process laso because game bar doesn t work..7800 is enough for flight sim...

Hi Michael, when you said if you wanted to just sim, the 7800 X3D fits the bill, but if you want to do video editing, get the 7900 X3D or 7950 X3D chips. Does that mean you cannot do video editing on the 7800 X3D, or you can, but do not expect faster compute times encoding or processing the video editing. I eventually would like to get a set-up where I can fly the sim and stream the flight, record in OBS, as well as, use two or three external GoPro cameras with the aid of an El Gato Cam Link Pro using a PCI slot, do a little video editing and upload to UA-cam. I am not necessarily looking for the most powerful chip, but rather a chip that can handle my list of items I mentioned. Will the 7800X3D be able to handle all that or in your expert opinion, do you think I should go with either a higher X3D chip or the i9? Thanks

for productivity work you use everything X3D and non X3D chiplet together. (for productivity X3D use to be slower, but still usefull). AMD drivers turn off one chiplet when specific task is detected (game) if running on single (half of cores) is faster.
