@knightbro578 I'm not too into shipping cause I don't like it myself but at least don't go into random comment sections saying 'I sure hope people don't bring their gay ship here' because people will interpret it as homophobic, you get what I'm saying?
The word "It's nonfiction" really hit different. Despite Dokja having the skill "Fourth Wall" he knows damn well that even if this reality is fiction or the other way around, whatever he feels or felt is REAL, even he's still having trouble sorting through his childhood traumas
The lyrics match dokja so well, from how the whole world tormented him and how he thought it was all fine and how he was content with everything untill he realized that he wasn't. It also portrayed that just because the apocalypse had started, it didn't mean that dokja's past trauma disappeared. It still took him a lot of courage to kill or beat up one of the few people who had made his life a living hell. This was portrayed in the song where they sang "can you solve the math problem by using algebra yet? Can you even see how his heart had been dyed black/red?" I think that it's a reference to: just because you thrive in one thing can you do the other well? And in this case it's probably: "even if you know the future and all that, can you really surpass your trauma? Have you fixed your relationship with your mother yet?" And it's wonderful! That aside, YOUR ART STYLE IS LITERALLY AMAZING! Best one I've seen so far! i love it so much and thank you for your hard work! ❤️
3:31 was hella beautiful and intense! It seems to capture the panic that Dokja must’ve felt at that moment and that’s just- Bbvjsdbfjsdknfds I’m crying, thing is so beautiful
Absolutely stunning. From the choice of the song and how the lyrics fit his story perfectly, to how beautiful the artwork is and the effects that are used... all harmonise so well. Overall hit me so deep I cried and truly, you deserve more appreciation. Your previous videos are amazing too
SAMEEEEE Like I love how it shows that he isn't invulnerable from the world just by being a reader. The book is HIS reality now, and that includes all the unsavoury bits of it. Honestly, Dokja's backstory is one of my favourites because it's so bleak and negative in a relatable sort of way, and that his only escape was an online novel. also I just really like watching kdj suffer so yea.
This whole video reminds me of a comment I saw on somewhere but it said that in the hospital, Dokja probably searched up “Ways to survive in the world” and then came across the novel.
And the fact that you use Jubyphonic's translyrics makes me sing along in her verse of this song- which make this PV more sad, enough to make me crying
YEEEESSS, being able to sing along is the best part!! Although there's the official english translation, I really like how much better JubyPhonic's version flows („• ֊ •„) Glad you liked my choice~
This song was actually the reason why i got into j-pop and vocaloid music. Seeing it why most favorite novel or webtoon makes me sob. I dedicated so much of my time reading the novel, this just brought me back to the very first time I read it. Thank you so much.
first of all. this is utterly beautiful and well-made and every frame has meaning. but i also wanted to say that i LOVE how you represented the fourth wall shaking, because you're right, that is one of the most fascinating parts of orv. and not enough people read so much into it like you do because there's so much more that happened to dokja, and his entire trauma is spread out for us to pick and choose to focus on, but this was one of the early plot points that really hit me. and i thought about it while reading the entire novel. i just can't describe how thankful i am that you made this, because it makes me so happy that this has been seen and appreciated... like. orv is a unique fandom in that i cannot revisit it too long. it makes me nauseous to think about too much. it was probably the most heartbreaking thing i will ever read. and this gives me the same horrible, gut-wrenching feeling, which is A GOOD THING because you induce the same visceral emotional reaction from me. you're amazing.
AHHHHH EXACTLY!!!! At the start us readers can only think that the way KDJ acts calm in the face of the apocalypse is cause he's the MC/confident in the story he read. There's no time really to dwell so deeply into it (plus his slyness charmed us~), and it's not until he runs in ppl from his real life (WELL into the first few scenarios) that we see there's more to his skills than we originally thought. AND TO GET A TASTE OF THAT PLOT POINT RIGHT WHEN WE'RE SEEING KDJ FACING A SLIVER OF HIS TRAUMA/AT HIS WEAKEST??? DELICIOUS!!!! There's sooooo many heart-wrenching parts in ORV, especially towards the end, but it's the early scenes like this that made me fall so deeply in love with the story and characters~ Thanks for watching/your lovely comment, and I'm glad you enjoyed the video!!! *^^*
I just... need to lie down, man. Like, seriously. I'm *BLOWN AWAY* by this!!! I've always loved this song, listened to each and every variation, different utaite covers and english covers since childhood. The lyrics are nostalgic to me to a high degree. Couple it with my recent obsession that I'm crying over, and you just gave me a full time hit of feels, angst, and other feelings that I can't describe. However, I can definitely say that the onion ninjas have run out of work, because I'm crying without them! This is just *TOO. GOOD! Amazing work, Nezo the Mandrake!*
THANK YOU FOR NOTICING!!! It makes me really happy to see someone point out a little detail I included 😊 I'm really satisfied with how this video turned out - glad you enjoyed it!
This is so good!!! love how the lyrics match with the drawn parts. (Just finished reading the part Where KDJ has been given the yellow meteorite. So I understood it! Love IT!!!
This is just absolutely beautifully made. I never thought I would encounter something like this, thank you for creating this masterpiece 🙏. It truly impacted me with Dokja's story, the song that fits perfectly, and the PV. I'd be lying if I said I didn't cry while I was watching this.
Decipherable Spoilers Ahead: With all the trauma our poor Dokja has gone through, killing his father, losing his mother, and a failed suicide attempt, it’s no wonder that he ends up as the ◾️◾️and leaves all of his companions after finding his ◾️◾️ 49% : 51%
And (spoilers for chapter 160+?) The chapters of the first battle with the Outer God (before the Dark Castle?) with Lee Sookyung was extremely painful. I highly encourage you to do it.
My opinion about most of Dokja life and his past, spoilers will be ahead from chapters 500 forwards: --- Dokja is a reader, he always has been from the name and the way he read stories as a child to escape from his father's grasps. Kim Dokja was like a hollow shell yet when he was reading stories he seemed more human, it is not such a surprise when you realize how much trauma our precious reader has been through. Dokja's father, his most traumatic memory was his own father. Not only did Dokja suffer a decade of isolation and bullying but he also experienced many dangers at home with his abusive dad who has threatened and beaten Dokja and his mother physically and mentally. The incident where Dokja had accidentally murdered him after his father picked up a knife from teh kitchen counter as was about to stab Dokja's mother, after that incident Dokja's mother was arrested. The bullying that Dokja experienced was also inhumane as the book, Underground Killer, spread and became well-known across South Korea. When Dokja finally received his ◼◼ he seemed like the person he was before, hollow and hopeless as he silently watched 49% of himself walk away in happiness after they finally finished the final scenario yet 51% has to stay behind as the Most Ancient/Oldest Dream. Kim Dokja tried to make it 50% but it didn't work, Kim Dokja *knew* that his 49% would notice himself soon after and that made 51% guilty. Perhaps the story of Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint never really deserved a happy ending, perhaps Dokja would never *wake up* ...
