    I'd like to know, what's the evolutionary purpose of orcas having large or small eye patches?

      Hi Lucas, yours is an interesting question to which we do not really have an answer at the moment. As mentioned in the video, the classification of orcas' ecotypes is still under debate and it is unclear why different groups have different eye patches. It might be related to recognition withing and between ecotypes. Thank you for watching :)

    This type of adaptability and resource specialization within the same species in the same area is amazing. Has that been observed in any animal besides humans?

      Hi Mark, the answer is yes. Bottlenose Dolphins for example can hunt in very different ways depending on which population they belong to and yet they are the same species genetically. I am sure there are also other examples under study or yet to be discovered. Thanks for watching :)

    Don’t their name killer whale come from killers of whales, they do be the apex predator in the ocean
