IDK on which episode you are on but this was the stuff. And gravity power is of witch of sloth not lust, witch of lust is the cute one and sleeping one is sloth.
Possible implied potential spoiler, though I don't know, just an observation. Everything you and Subaru feel about "when did Subaru save Satella?" is probably exactly how Emilia feels when Subaru says she saved him.
IMO Satella's reasoning probably makes perfect sense, it's just hidden behind her Return by Death. Just like with Subaru, many times we've seen him bring up something that happened in a previous loop, only for the person he is talking to to be confused. Rem when she is trying to kill him and he is bringing up all the good times they had. Emilia when he is having his meltdown after duel with Julius, telling her how she saved him. Even little bit now with Otto, when he calls him his friend. It's just that with Satella we likely see it from the opposite perspective.

During the talk between Subaru and Puck that was cut from the anime it is revealed that it was in fact Emilia who was subconciously supressing Puck, so he couldn't come out even if he wanted to. That's why Subaru had to wait until Emilia was asleep to talk to him.
There was some REALLY important context that was cut out of the whole witches and satella scene that would make things way more clear. I have absolutely no clue why they chose to cut such an important part: Satella and the Witch of Envy are not the same. Something happened that pretty much made it so Satella developed a split personality. Satella is the "good" one we saw in this episode and the Witch of Envy is the "bad" one. However a really interesting thing is that Echidna mentioned that Satella is the one the other witches like but it was in fact the Satella personality that killed the other witches and destroyed half the world.

@@arnabbiswasalsodeep I am pretty much up to date (10 chapters from finale) of arc8 which would be either season 4 or 5 of the anime. My guess would be that they want to keep hints or foreshadowing to a minimum in there to make reveals a bigger "shock" when it happens in the anime?? Which I find sad because what I love about re Zero and the novel's are that they are FULL of little details and foreshadowing which lets you theory craft a lot to speculate what can happen. There was also a super important part of Aldebaran skipped in season 1 which would be really good to know for season 3 and 4.. I don't know if they somehow retcon it and move the discussion about that to this season? But similar to the season 2 finale one of the biggest reveals that happened right at the end just got cut and only a very little detail was added instead that was hinting slightly towards it. That part you cannot just add in a later part since it tied to the sanctuary and what happened there
Subaru biting his tongue is, in my opinion, his darkest moment in the entire show. He has shown EXTREME fear of dying, and has only died on purpose when trying to reset and save someone, but if he dies in the Castle of Dreams he can't come back. That was it, he was literally trying to end it for REAL, I don't think he ever reached that level of despair up until this point. Minerva was a real one for jumping in to save him, and even Typhon was a real one for defending his right to make the choice. Someone probably already mentioned it, but there are "what-if" stories written about Subaru being contracted to the different witches, there's one where he doesn't die at all and he has a family with Rem, if he took Echidna's deal he apparently would've died over 100 million times.
The question is if Subaru realised this that it would lead to more than a normal reset. Also dont know if you are up to date with the novel or only speak from the anime perspective. There is some pretty dark stuff ahead :D And yes that 100million times is in fact the greed if route. He has completely lost the will for everything and in that story when petra was wondering how the weather would be tomorrow subaru just waited till tomorrow to know the answer and reset so he can tell petra how the weather is. The guy is dead inside there

No worries, everybody is confused when it comes to Satella's obession with Subaru. The story hasn't given any answers for that yet and all we can do is theorize about it. My personal pet theory: There might just be loops that Subaru (and by proxy the audience) is not aware of. If RbD is truly the Witch Factor of Envy, then Satella's Authority might have worked similarly to Subaru's and let her redo fate over and over again. She could have met Subaru in a past loop, fallen in love with him, only for him to save her and die in the process, forcing Satella to reset the timeline to a point at which Subaru has not met her (i.e. doesn't remember her). But with Fate being such a strong force, Subaru's death was seemingly inevitable, which is why Satella gave her authority to Subaru to keep him alive. I kinda like this theory mostly because Subaru's dynamic is kinda similar to Emilia's dynamic with Subaru during season one: Both are loved by someone due to reasons they do not remember, making them unable to understand them, so Satella's circumstances being the same as Subaru's seems kinda intriguing to me.
Subaru isn’t saying it to get her off his ass. He genuinely doesn’t value his own life. You have to remember, Subaru has to take his own life to save another. Obviously he can come back, but the mental toll that can is unimaginable. It makes sense why he doesn’t value himself. And he realizes here he needs to love himself more. Subaru basically had an unhealthy relationship with his RBD. He relied on it too much, thus he didn’t value his own life. Hes not saying he shouldn’t ever use it, hes saying he shouldn’t rely on it. Cuz the prerequisite for using RBD is his own self. He HAS to sacrifice himself to use RBD. But it activating in a self defense situation is completely different. This season started with Subaru taking his own life to save Rem. And throughout the season, Subaru has given little thought to his own life. One good example is when he walked in front of Garfiel to die and everyone kept saving him. He was putting himself in dangerous situations without regard of how others see him. He did rhe same with Beatrice when he tried taking his own life in front of her

Its really a shame Cara hates Emilia so much. I understand it was kinda hard to empathize with her but Emilia obviously has a very traumatic past and complications… shes also failing it the same amount of times. Subaru just keeps restarting. Re Zero does have quit a bit of talking, this is def where things slow down a lot. But if you don’t like the characters that much then this stuff probably just doesn’t hit as well. I love Re Zero but maybe thats one of its weaker points. Again, I really don’t think Emilia even did anything to be hated that much… obviously we keep seeing her fail but its literally where Subarus checkpoint is. I don’t get why you guys are treating her like shes fucking up so much when shes failing a couple of times, theres just a very strict time limit. Otherwise she would have more time to deal with this very sensitive issue

My theory why Sellat wishes subaru to kill her . Satella is WoE , she is still alive . Means Envy WF is still with her . But some reasons Subaru have RBD which is envy Authority. So if subaru kills satella Subaru have complete control on Envy Witch Factor

Satella was incompatible with the Envy factor and it made a split of self. Both Satella and woe love Subaru but Satella is caring and woe is possessive and controlling

The dialogue is really drawn out and it makes it really hard to follow sometimes. I love Re:Zero, it's one of my favorite anime, but you absolutely cannot say no words are wasted because there is SO much unnecessary dialogue that could be worded much much better and clearer. Idk if it's a translation issue or what.
Yes, there are some translation problems, there are problems with the first season that have not yet been fixed. But it also comes from the fact that it is difficult, there are many small lines like that that give a completely different view of the character, which at first may go unnoticed. The anime tries its best to maintain the same essence as the original (and believe me, they cut A LOT of things, even some that should be because they are very important). We have to accept that this is a work that you won't get everything by watching just once, especially if it's someone who is distracted or even more so in a reaction like theirs who has to say something over the top.
season 2 just has a lot of talking, tbh i have no idea how they could have done this. i cant even see what dialogue they could cut cuz everything in these 2 episodes are necessary build up and characterization thats needed. that being said, this is the build up for all the crazy shit that goes after. also if you dont like emilia that much then this and the next episode might be kinda hard to watch. that’s just the nature of arc 4, it also doesn’t help the setting is pretty identical all the way through.
Yeah, it feels like some even important dialogues need to be terpreted because they aren't explicit and get stuck in the weeds. I guess its a little naturalistic, but it means we misunderstand people's motivations. (I luv Emilia being the classic example I guess, but a later big dialogue in season 2 having a similar issue)
