So I heard today that Dillon had some kind of elevation sickness at practice on Friday and that might have had something to do with him being a scratch it the game. So now I don't know what to believe anymore or if them sitting him means anything at all. haha. I still think he probably makes the roster though.
It's probably a good idea to look at this pre-season game as a very dangerous practice. The score doesn't matter, but how the players perform is studied on tape to see if they should be kept on the overall 53 and potentially the practice squad. It's all about evaluation and less about success. We save the success for the regular season, when it counts.
I would be surprised if the packers brought in a veteran quarterback at this point. Trying to come in at this point and learn the offense would be tough. We'll see how Clifford and pratt do next week. Im hopeful they can show that they are capable

Because the depth is shaky, I'm almost ready to go 4 RBS, and like, 7 OL because we can get the rest to the practice squad. I know a few people (Andy, Nags, sorry) say that other teams have that problem too, so they might not claim him...but if we don't retain Wilson, he will be claimed. Guarantee it.
Case in point- The OL that played against the Denver starters- so what? These are guys that may have to come off the bench, in case of injury , and play against other teams starters. Maybe we can gleen that our backups may not be as good as we thought On the other hand, if there were a mixture of starter and subs, how many subs would play better with starting talent next to them. Guess that's why Gute gets paid big bucks to figure this out. But the OL worries me,especially our run offense, something we were not that great last year either. Good thing Jones could slice through tiny holes and make something from nothing. Great show. GPG!
But there is also a difference in say, Jacob Monk going in for Myers at C and the rest of the line being intact. If both Tom and Jenkins go down - or maybe one of them with Walker, we're just in trouble anyway. But only one, we might be able to weather the storm for a little bit.
I think the main issue in this game was the bad play of the offencive line, qbs had no time to set , couldn't block, didn't open any holes for running backs
The #1's sucked in joint practice, 1+1=VERY BAD week!! The goal is to look like you have great depth!! Not many earned their money last night!! I've seen 4-12 Packers back in the day at least flash SOMETHING!! Stop with "the Starters of the Broncos"!! Who are THEY?? A rookie QB and Stidham?? LOL, we might have the WORST 16 man practice squad EVER!! Royce Newman is SO BAD every Packers fan will have a beer when he's cut!! There is not ONE team out there that wants Royce, he is THAT BAD!! It was awesome to see Wilson the same horrible blocking that Dillon got!! You all were cutting Dillon, do we cut Wilson now? I was a huge Enagbare fan his rookie year, he just hasn't flashed anything from what I've seen since!! He's more about who's around him then being the guy!! His stock is way down in my eyes!! Jaire better be AWESOME, or I'm done with his talking and yapping!!
Well, but it's not about the rookie QB and Stidham, it's about their veteran receivers going against 6 & 7 corners, and a pretty good DL going against some of our 6-9 OL. You wanna see better effort, but the time clock for Cliff and Pratt wasn't going to be very long anyway. So you needed to see a little more.

When a safety is the highlight in a 27-2 spanking and you all say it's "just the preseason". That means our depth is sooooooooo great, these scrubs can play in the CFL and we'll be fine? We DO NOT have a backup QB, we might not even have a backup RB, we surely don't have any quality at backup on the OL!! Think about put those 3 things into perspective!! Our SEASON is hanging by a thread on the offense!! And the Lafley defense was the talk of the town IN SHORTS and no Love!! In two games, Browns scrubs and ok, "Bronco's starters" have done pretty darn good!! Clifford threw how many INT's in shorts?? Packers fans need to WAKE UP!! I bought the no pads Hafley hype, I just ain't seeing it!! And I hear in the Broncos joint practice, we stunk just as bad!! Love was bouncing balls off the grass to his receivers!!
Bro you need to breath. Backup QB could be an issue I agree, but Pratt has looked promising and it still a rookie. We have several great RB options (Jacobs, LLoyd, Dillon, Wilson is much more depth than last year). Oline might be slightly thin but dillard and monk have both looked good in preseason including this game and are good depth pieces. Not to mention both ryan and jordan morgan. It's a similar amount of depth that most teams in the NFL have. Our season is not hanging by a thread based on one preseason game. Matt Lafluer hasn't even been calling plays in the preseason and they are using very vanilla versions of both the offensive and defensive playbooks. There is no need to send yourself into a stressing tailspin and panic over this. If anything, having a bad week now and seeing how they respond is a good thing. Every team has bad weeks. Also, go listen to matt schniedman or john kuhn (who were both at the practice!) talk about what they saw. Both agreed that the packers were playing really well on offense and defense to start the day. They just slowly got worse as time went on which I'm sure somewhat had to do with losing steam in the elevation that they aren't used to. Josh Jacobs was destroying them for the first 1/3 of practice and jordan was doing well too. Just let the preseason play out take a deep breath. It will be ok.

@@vegasj305 I think our starting Oline + the immediate backups will be fine. From what I heard, jacobs was tearing it up at practice on friday. Didn't see many negative things about him. And I think they are being carful with lloyd since hamstring injuries can be tricky. Not worth throwing him out there right now with risk of reinjury. Even if he has to miss a couple games, hopefully it won't be super long until he's ready to go.
@@vegasj305 Also for some perspective, the year the lions went 0-16, they went 4-0 in the preseason. It really doesn't mean as much as you may think. Many of the 'bad' teams or the ones with new QBs/coaches are using their entire playbooks in the preseason. Most of the best teams are just trying to get a look at their roster bubble guys and show as little as possible of their playbooks. Good teams consistently play bad preseason games every year. It happens. Now of all the concerns, I'm most worried about backup QB and kicker after sunday. Hoping both look better next week.

Newman has been around awhile, he has been inconsistent. I think the Pack maybe at an inflection point with keeping him or not.
If you want to charge $20 a ticket then that performance is acceptable in the pre season.
GB purposely had no game plan. Coaches wanted to see how guys played using rules and instincts, not schemes.
