    About this video:
. True To Life was released in October 1977. It followed Porgy and Bess, Ray's collaboration with Cleo Laine, on RCA 1976. This was Ray's return to Atlantic, the label he had so many R&B hits with, since leaving in 1959.
It is quite unlike his classic 1950s sides, but True To Life is a masterful set of songs. There were two singles released from this album: First, "I Can See Clearly Now" was backed with "Anonymous Love" in November 1977. Then, "Game Number Nine" came out in March 1978. It was paired with a non-LP song called "A Peace That We Never Before Could Enjoy", which would be added to Ray's next LP, Love And Peace.
The performances on True To Life are grand and warm, playful and attention-demanding. It includes Ray's fifth and final Beatles cover, the last song on Side 2: "Let It Be". Copies of True To Life are fairly easy to find in good condition, and highly recommended.
