Fun fact: they used to give out free christmas trees on the condition that you returned them. Because no one can walk through an ikea twice without buying a bunch of shit.
1:10 "Malmö Sweden which is very close to Denmark Copenhagen, it's right across the river" Classic Americans, can't tell the difference between a sea-straight and a river. 🤣🤣🤣
The "scandi horse" she is talking about is just IKEAs modernized version of the traditional "dala horse", they were originally handcarved and painted red, with ornaments, in a region in Sweden called Dalarna, as a children's toy, but it has become a decorative item, and a symbol of the Dalarna region, and Sweden as a whole. The legend about Ikea is that they are so large in size that Ikea never employ people but it's lost customers that gave up and found a name tag to put on themself :)
IKEA has plans to open its first store in Brazil in 2029, with the initial location set to be in São Paulo. The company has been analyzing the Brazilian market for several years and is preparing for its entry into this emerging economy.
Brazil gas a 75% tariff on imported products, that's why it's hard to enter brazil and make a profit. There are 2 Ikeas in Chile and one in Colombia afaik.
Why is there no IKEA in Brazil? Brazil has very high taxes on imported goods, about 75% or more above the FOB cost . Local companies such as Tok & Stok also face this problem, but have probably already optimized their purchases to reduce the tax impact; Ikea also chooses to buy much of its furniture from very strictly managed local subcontractors.
Hey , you can find Ikea, in Chile, Peru and in Colombia, Mexico and I think they have a store in Argentina as well! 😊 The store are more like what you in Latin America call malls, they are so big because they stock in the store. And they are no other stores in ikea that don’t is by IKEA, like the food, the delivery service and so on. Sweden and Scandinavian countries they are famous for the minimalist style not just in fashion but most in interior design. This is the spirit of Ikea.
The restaurant is inside IKEA but where ever IKEA decides to build there will always be other stores building next to it since it is so popular. but what they show here is all inside the IKEA store.
Ingvar Kamprad, the founder of IKEA, had the idea that if they have a restaurant in the stores with (cheap) food the customers would stay longer and buy more.
IKEA is a store for everyone. You can buy everything for your home, and I mean everything, from cutlery, plates, pots, kitchen, bedroom, living room, decorations, pillows, beds, blankets, toys, children's furniture, fabrics...all for a low price. And the selection is huge. everyone in Europe has some furniture from IKEA.
The average size of an IKEA store is approximately 25,000 square meters. This figure can vary depending on location and country, as there are both smaller urban stores (e.g. IKEA City) and larger locations. A standard soccer pitch has an area of 7,140 square meters. The sales area of an IKEA store is therefore equivalent to around 3.5 to 4 soccer fields. This comparison illustrates the immense size of a typical IKEA store and the space it requires. A store has a restaurant located about halfway through the store. A store is set up so that you have to go through all the departments one by one, but there are shortcuts. Behind the checkout is a small supermarket with Scandinavian food. There are also snacks such as hot dogs or ice cream as a reward for shopping. The design of the furniture and other items is such that it is perceived internationally as typically Swedish/Scandinavian and within Sweden as typically IKEA.
In Denmark we got this thing called "The IKEA TEST", that's when you go to IKEA with your boy/girlfriend for the first time, to see if you got the same taste in furniture, as well as being able to get along during the time there. IKEA is a great place to go people watch, the amount of couples arguing(price/what to get, what not to get 🤣🤣🤣, kids misbehaving(or just being kids), it can be great fun, or pretty exhausting to be honest. Personally i've never really cared for the food there, but plenty people enjoy it. IKEA is for everyone....All the best from Denmark ❤
Building rooms in the store with the procucts give the customer a better view of how it will look like in their own homes (and a good selling point). Like other companies here selling kitchen/bathroom interiors and kitchen-ware they also have employees for helping the customer to plan their kitchen or bathroom.
The IKEA store has these installations of rooms so you can see the things in a room environment. All things have tags on them with the name of the product and a alfanumerical code. If you plan to buy the product you write down that number (there are paper forms and pencils all over the store for you to use), then in the warehose (that you pass on your way to the cashiers), you find the row and place for your item. And if it's furniture, it's in a flat pack that you have to build yourself. Like a huge lego set. It has the wooden pieces, screws, screw drivers and a booklet with step by step instructions. But for a fee you can order your purchase dilivered to your home and assembled by IKEA staff.
I'm not sure if it's the same elsewhere but at leas there in Finland they did away with the pencil and book approach. Now people scan the code with their phone to add the products to their IKEA app shopping list. The App will tell you where to find the item in storage and how many they have in stock. (And you're able to purchase through the app as well.)
I have been in Sweden Ikea, four of them and had work practice in one. Then I have been in one Ikea in Finland. Ikea is like a own mall.. Its not for rich people, its for everyone and has really smart ideas and fun design. Ikea houses has playground for kids, you can also leve them whit child carrier and they shout out in hole house, if you need get your kid. But there is also hole floor place for kids whit their stuff, children are alloys to be there and loves it... Restaurant are not expensive, you get good quality at food, drinks, desserts.. Most Ikea has food/ snacks store also and cafe. You go around house , get insperation, they buillt upp like home, for everything, to see how stuff look. You found some products in store or it says were you get it, you get it before paying..Most packing is famous for be flat and you have put stuff togever your self, there is service for it, and help if your products are wrong/ broken and of course you have info also.. All over house you can get free little pen and paper shopper list, to write down products and number were there are... This is easy way describe it.
The wood horse is an old decoration and/or toy the first ones was done in homes that could be sold on a market, it was not necessarily painted or decorated. The most known swedish wood horse is from the region of Dalarna, in Sweden we call those that are from that region Dalahäst (dalahorse) they are often painted in a base colour and then have a decorative pattern painted on, all of the decorative painting is done by hand, if you travel to that part of Sweden you can visit some workshops that makes the horses and some stores you can even try and paint one yourself, I think you pay a fee for being able to do that. The most recognised colour is a red base with white, green, some black and blue as part of the flower motive that is often on these horses.
If you want to know what was in that less than $2 (19 Swedish kronor) salat with ryebread then go look up Toast Skagen, it's named after Skagen in Denmark, but is highly popular in Sweden under the name Skagenröra, in Denmark it go by the name Skagenssalat, that you can buy in several different version in all supermarkets all over the country. You can also get a Danish version of Skagen Salat in Lidl in Germany.
17:42 in. Scandinavian design has been know for quite some time now. Especially the Danish design. I would say (arguably) that it started after the 40's... but it has always been "minimalistic" (don't like the word, but it describes it pretty well in many ways) and practical.
Ikea has revolutionized the homes in many poor countries with their super cheap furniture that is actually pretty good quality. And it's popular in rich countries too, because rich people also love cheap things. THere is an Ikea warehouse in Santiago de Chile so I guess Ikea will soon be in Brazil too!
The thing about IKEA is that when you buy furniture there, they are in boxes and you screw them together yourself when you get home. This makes the furniture much cheaper.
A large Ikea store (which is shown in this video) is always its own building and the restaurant is a part of it. But, in Sweden at least, there are smaller stores that are in shopping malls as well but they don't have everything a big store has, and they don't have restaurants.
IKEA is a huge store with everything, usually in two storeys; the restaurant belongs to IKEA and is located inside the store, but it is somewhat separated from the furniture, etc. What is attractive about these restaurants are the very low prices and good quality food, which makes for long queues :)
And, yes, it is not an expensive store in Europe at all... it is quite a cheap store with a very cheap restaurant (at least for wealthy countries in europe)

Then, they rent the other plots out to other businesses who wants to establish in the same area. Also, there is at least one mini IKEA in the the "Gallerian" shopping mall in the center of Stockholm. Hello fro mGermany. IKEA is very big all around Europe. My whole kitchen is from IKEA except for the electrical appliances. And also my bedroom is from IKEA, except for the bed. IKEA is by many considered, let's say, low class, since the products aren't usually of very good quality, they may look good but they will (usually) not last too long, but it's a cheap option for students, or a good option for those who wants to replace everything after say 10 years. The food is kind of decent I guess, not quite fast food, but not really restaurant class.

Well, IKEA furniture is very cheap, when compared to other shops here in Finland (next to Sweden, if you didn't know). Well, not 4-star quality products, but the other shops are not any better, in reality. So, a very popular shop.
In german IKEA's there's an area called Småland where you can bring your kids before you go shopping. Is this also common in Sweden bc I haven't seen one in this vid?
Meus amigos brasileiros adoram a IKEA, tudo o que você precisa para uma casa em um unico lugar There is something like 350 IKEA stores worldwide in 48 countries and the closest thing to IKEA in Brazil is probably Tok&Stok, however even if IKEA is considered budget furniture in many parts of the world they would be expensive in Brazil, and no one that can afford buying expensive furniture in Brazil would consider assembling any themselves There is one IKEA in Santiago de Chile and one in Bogota, Colombia and they had plans before the pandemic to eventually open one in Sao Paulo
If you are in a hurry, IKEA is not for you! Once you get inside you don't be able to get out before you have gone through the whole thing, both first and second floor.
Hej från Sverige. Idag beräknas det komma ner 50cm snö och i veckan ska det bli ca -10 c. Då behöver men något på huvudet till exempel en mössa. Det måste vara väldigt kallt där ni bor för du har alltid mössa på dig 😂.
I would disagree. I know very wealthy people who all own and appeciate ikea products even if its mixed with more luxurious and niche products. IKEA is certainly mainstream so anyone who wants a more unique expression would go for other brands. But a home usually has a lot of stuff and very few people wants to spend luxury money on every mundane thing. A rich person could go to svenssons (a luxury home store) and buy one pillow for their guest house sofa for 150$ or they go to ikea and get 5 pillows and a blanket for the same money. At some point it just becomes silly. you dont become rich by spending your money unwisely. So basically there’s always some room for IKEA even though the ratio of IKEA to other brands in a swedish home differs ☺️
I keep getting pissed when americans say for example skagen taste like tuna when its shrimps or other comparings to food becaus or food is 1000% better then the crap in murica ofc

I love Ikea meatballs!

To answer your question in the beginning.. It's just an IKEA store, nothing else.
IKEA is different in all the countries in which it has stores. They adapt it to the country in which the business is located.

Parking spots for families and disabled are normal thing in the Nordics.
IKEA is a cheap furniture store here :)
Not only in the nordics, in Austria for example too and of course also parking spaces near the entrance for disabled people and women (for safety reasons, for example in underground car parks)!
The stores are also designed for you to walk in one direction basically seeing everything in the store.
The size of Ikea in Stockholm 32 000 square meters. In the Philippines its 65,000!
Pretty sure it's a completely separate store/buildning, there are around 20 of them in Sweden, but there are also many smaller IKEAs in shopping malls all around.

Minimalism isn't atrend in the Nordic, it is a part of our culture going way back.
IKEA is primarily the store you go to when you bought your first apartment. It's not upscale at all, quite the contrary. It was made to be very affordable.
There are some scandals surrounding IKEA, but let's not talk about that.
Even Zlatan Ibrahimovic buys furniture at IKEA.

IKEA makes stuff for the many people so they try to do it affordable for all

In Sweden Ikea is considered the poor mans choice.
You realize that Sweden was technically a third world country until we joined NATO?
I keep getting pissed when americans say for example skagen taste like tuna when its shrimps or other comparings to food becaus or food is 1000% better then the crap in murica ofc
I absolutely hate IKEA! Once you get in, you'll have a really hard time finding your way back out. 🖕😠 Never again!!!
Third World country. The UK then?
all in the video is the same store
Why is there no IKEA in Brazil?
Brazil has very high taxes on imported goods, about 75% or more above the FOB cost . Local companies such as Tok & Stok also face this problem, but have probably already optimized their purchases to reduce the tax impact; Ikea also chooses to buy much of its furniture from very strictly managed local subcontractors.
