i’m several hours in and it definitely does remind me of apex legends a little bit, both with the dialogue and graphics, i think that if you like the marvel movies, apex legends, and the newer shows that disney has been putting out then you will like this game ! I will say though , it also doesn’t necessarily feel like dragon age a whole lot but maybe that’s just me 🤷♂️ the combat is fun and flashy but can get a bit repetitive and some of the enemies can feel a bit spongy and copy and pasted, but it is fun. I’m still waiting for the story to really pick up so i hope it’s not one of those things where you’re waiting until the end for it to “pick up” also the dialogue does feel less extensive and little dumbed down and it can be cliche, the beginning in my opinion was awesome though i really enjoyed it as well as the character creation which was really cool too. There are things that i like so far and there are things that i don’t like so far, but as i get further in i will most likely be updating these review/comments that i’ve made :)
I’m about to start DA Inquisition since it’s been 10 years and I only played it once without touching the DLC. Given the first couple of hours of some streams I’ve watched, I’m getting exactly what you said here. Some of it looks really good, some of it looks pretty middling, and some of it kinda meh. Overall, I think I’m going to still enjoy it when I do get to play it after Inquisition.
I'm probably not gonna play Veilguard (if I am, it will be from a sale), since everything I'm hearing from reviews, good or bad, just tell me it's not for me. Despite that, let me say that your responces to the sorts of idiots looking for outrage content in your comments has earned you a new sub. Always good to see more measured, rational takes in this outrage-machine youtube has turned into.
I'm like 25 hours in. The dialog could have been better. And I wish they did more with Taash rather than affirmation of her gender identity. But I have enjoyed it for the most part.
For anyone who doesn’t care about injecting identity politics into games, it’s probably gonna be an ok game. For anyone tired of being told what to think, how they should act, etc., they’re not gonna play it. However, to be a success you need both of those groups. It’s like being an ice cream shop that only sells vanilla, sure you’ll get customers, but not enough to keep your doors open 🤷♂️
@PodcastNow It might I mean, you still have character customization class customization like a typical dragon age it doesn't have to be a big budget game, just something different.
For me, if the game wasnt trying so hard to lecture me, (seen enough of a walkthrough) may have bought it. Before people respond that im just complaining and a bigot etc, i never used to care about politics before, but because games like this keep pushing ideologies, sick of it and dont want to support them anymore. Would be same thing if videogames were pushing religion into them, telling people to repent or they will burn, bet there would be major outcry there as well
That's right. EA paid me a MASSIVE 0 dollars, and did NOT give me a review code, to say that the game wasn't good, that it was fine. I mean are we serious 😂

Hey man, i feel like all the reviewers are confusing. Many say its "fine" or "meh" some say its "great" and the rest says its "bad" or "cringe"... I got turned off on inquisition because of how long it took to get going and the ridiculous amount of side quests that had no impact to story line. I feel like veilguard surpasses that, and it surpasses previous combat gameplay by miles, it also looks pretty darn good visually...i can understand that some of the character speech is lackluster and would bring down an initial review. Id score it an 7.5. Ui, language and character design can be improved. But mostly my point deduction would go towards the fact that it doesnt really class itself as a proper rpg like baldurs gate 3. Main takeaways for bioware is that if it wants to create an rpg, they should really look at baldurs gate 3 acts 1 and 2. Dan signing out!!!
I was all set to pick this up. Then after it came out when I got to see how it actually plays. Even watching your preview here it’s just like everything I see turns me off. It’s nothing against it. It’s just not for me.
I think ive liked the game a bit better after unlocking lucanis and davrin. I think the combat has finally clicked with me a bit more now. Im still not like amazed by this game but i am enjoying it now

IDK what it is but with all videos about this game we know that this isn’t a dark fantasy it’s like a Disney which proves EA/Bioware the new bloods didn’t understand or care about the fan base of the series.
You are being safe on this one lolololololol. This doesn’t even come close to dragons dogma 2 or balders gate 3… people will have fun playing this cause it’s so similar to AAA action games… 10 years waiting for this is not good. I love how everyone except for the real ones aren’t discussing the ideology they are shoving in you face!!! Not dark at all, writing is awful, I swear AI wrote 50%… This is just a shame!!!!
I played Dragons Dogma 2 and can honestly say it’s the most overrated game of the year IMO. Combat was fun but repetitive after a while, companions were annoying, story was incredibly uninspired, dialogue was cringe and grinding levels was a slog. All this to say that forcing your opinion on others is shitty whether it’s praise or slander.
I'm not playing it safe. The writing is not good, it's not bad of the 6 hours I've played. I've seen TERRIBLE writing in it from other people and so when I see it I'll discuss it in my review
Six hours in? Oooh right then. See they spread out things over a 40-50 hours game. So, the question is do you want to play it for 40-50 hours. And are you ready for what is coming your way. And I have the feeling that Bioware/EA might not either. No DLC??? Will they do a Andromeda, patch 1.1 and then... nothing. Would be sad right, but quite possible. Most people do side quests before main story, whether there's a sense of urgency, or not. It's all a checklist
