The Rules for this Campaign are:
- Dead is dead. When I die, the campaign ends.
- Full realism settings. Only the external camera is allowed for filming purposes
- Manual Targeting
- No recognition manual for random merchant ships
- Attempt to abide by the historical orders in regards to the London Naval Treaty, Operating Procedures and Restrictions

Seems ypu accidently stumbeled into a deep ocean time rift and ended up in '45.
I had a feeling it was a game glitch. It was exactly like Black May in my opinion. But with the escort carriers equipped with Hudson bombers instead of TBM's. I think 1Alex should be notified of the bug... I love this channel Just great TV..
OneAlex doesn't work on the mod anymore since Russia invaded his homeland. I think he is serving in the UA armed forces now.
Before you crash dive, you need to order standard propulsion: two screws are better than one to get fast under the waves.
And change direction of course once he is beneath the waves.
@@vaggelissmyrniotis2194You lose speed fast if you turn while crash diving, and the speed is of the utmost importance to get to safe depths.
I need to go deep as fast as I can. Turning would slow me down
In English, it is called "Cape Verde". I believe the literal translation from Portuguese would be Green Cape. Verde is green, and Cape is well... Cape, like the part of land sticking out into the ocean. Glad there is a new patrol area! Keep this series going!

The dastardly brits must have a field of sonar buoys covering your patrol area. That or the Freetown pilots have radar vision.
Glad you decided to avoid this obvious bug in the game, let's hope once you are in the new patrol area things return to normal.
Felt your frustration those planes seem to come out of nowhere and it like they knew your postion. Great video as always.

Get out of air patrol areas, the captains that survived (very few, the exception)?had autonomy from BDU, in 1941 stay at least +/-1000km from any allied air base. Great video regardless ❤️

Finally caught up, I've spent the last 2 week binging this series and this is the first episode that I am watching where I have had to wait. Looking forward to next week's episodes and many more hoping you survive the war :)
Also I see it's starting to turn into the cat & mouse game after Allied air power began to escalate.
edit: I now know it was a bug, after a quick search Freetown only became a major seaplane base sometime during 1941 but it only hosted Catalina squadrons so yes something seems wrong
Somewhere there's a checkbox to increase enemy aircraft attacks. Can't remember whether it's in game difficulty options or an option within SH3 Commander, but maybe you ticked that at some point?
Just a thought, since I never had THAT many attacks! lol ;b
There’s also a submod that increases it more, I think he has that enabled if he’s using the most recent OneAlex edition.

It was simply a bad combination of a wrong value and the airbase being classified as elite
this is utterly unrealistic. Even if they had a hundred patrol planes which is way too much for an isignificant foreign station there's no possibility for them to cover such a huge section of the ocean. The airplaines need time to get there, get back. Reload, service airplaines. The crews need rest. Total nonsense
Not to mention the sheer absurdity of the actual spotting. Even with early radar they could fly right above the sub without spotting it, misreading their systems or just not notice (those planes would not be flying close to the water). Even heavy clouds and night-time don't seem to do anything for Tonci.
Not to mention failing to correctly report the submarine's position and heading, impeding followup attacks. Keeping track of exactly where you are on a featureless oceans was a huge problem for planes of the period.

by staying at 6 meters deapth,for the cost of 2knts speed,you can be under the surface within 10 seconds......

Who would have thought new guinea was tougher than the British isles. Yeah I think it's a glitch or something. When wolfpack345 was carrying operations in his campaign near new guinea he'd forgot about the air craft.
IIRC, somewhere in the process of getting the OneAlex Edition working on my computer there was a configuration item about increasing enemy air activity. Do you remember if you chose that option?

One thing that might be worth a try is running with decks awash. Maybe it'd jog the game out of the weird bug. Other than that, do what you're doing and stay out as far away as you can from Freetown.
Have you guys tried the prerelease beta of uboat? I feel like we finally have a worthy and more immersive sucessor

How do you get the extra maps and stuff in the top left corner of the screen when you are in the radio medsages page? Like in 14:19, I only have the "gitterkarte" but you also have "prize", "SOP", "Convoy" and "torpedo". Where can I get these? Is it like a seperate mod you downloaded or what?

OneAlex lives in Ukraine and I assume he is of the military service age. He didn't update his mod since the invasion.

Now that I have found the issue for this insane amount of planes, the next trip to Freetown should be much calmer, if I get deployed there again
How do you request a new patrol area? I use this MOD and ive never seen this radio option

The only thing I can think of if you cannot adjust the aircraft in game is to do the same exact thing that the game is doing - blatantly cheat by using the external view to watch until the planes fly away and then surface to continue battery charging. Seems entirely fair since the game is blatantly cheating that you should counter that by doing the same.
Where is the sport in that? :)
@@Tonci87 As it turns out there is a way to adjust the aircraft settings and you entirely rightly did that, so cheating in response to the game cheating is no longer necessary. Bear in mind how much time has now passed since my comment was posted - waiting an entire month before reading the comments does tend to make the comments out of date you know!
Need a bigger boat with a snorkel and heavier AA.
Heavier AA and snorkels are not available at this point
Guys, I have a quick question. Am I the only one who has problems with nighttime in sh3? I cant see anything even if my life depended on it. My screen is full brightness and during nighttime I still cant even see the front of my own boat. Even in clear days with moonlight, its impossible to do anything. What can I do here? Is there a way to tweak the games brightness? I know its realistic thats its hard to see during night, but the problem is that its not hard for me. Its literally IMPOSSIBLE. Any help would be greatly appreciated
Yeah it is intentional. Some nights are simply PITCH black and no matter how much you crank up your monitor's brightness, contrast, no matter how dim the light in your room will be, and no matter how clean your screen is, you won't see the tip of your nose in the nighttime.
You should be able to see relatively well in a full moon night. Maybe adjust the gamma value for the game
