I feel so sad for Kel in the ending, he just managed to bring everyone back together and now he’s losing them all again. He didn’t even get to process his own thoughts about the confession and just had to stop Aubrey from killing them while his brother leaves again. He just wants to play basketball the poor baby.
This is the most realistic head canon for me but it stills hurst to see it, I just want to see them happy ;-;, like geez imagine finally reconciling with your friend group in the first time in 4 years just to learn that two of them did such a thing..

I don't know why but seeing Kel not hugging the cactus is sad. I know that it's because of the thorns but I think it also represents him not accepting himself as the way Basil describes him
Aubrey, Hero, and Kel taking Sunny admitting to the truth about Mari's death badly is the realistic ending. Like, in real life if you told your friends that you killed someone they all carried about and kept it a secret from them for 3 years, they'd be pissed and upset. But, the game preaches that "You must trust in your friends that they'll forgive you, because they love you." I think that the gang would be upset at first, but, they'd come to realize that Basil and Sunny atoned enough and would forgive them. They know that Sunny and Basil are good people and know they loved Mari too, so they'd accept it as an accident and move on with their lives, together. At least, that's what I think, the more realistic ending is what this animation represents, everyone storming off with mixed feelings of anger and sadness, a less happy ending. Maybe the way I think it would've gone down is a lot more happy and hopeful, but, OMOCAT didn't make Omori to just put smiles on our faces, it was also made to make us cry, and I think an ending where the gang just... falls apart and never sees or talks to each other again is very depressing.
That's kind of why i liked that they left it to interpretation. Cause both beliefs are valid ya know? I definitely think they'd all come around eventually, but how and when are going to different for everyone. It's very interesting to think about! ♥️
I totally agreed with you, this game create things that reflect reality and OMOCAT already take as much as realistic approach into account, such as Sunny mom not have a heart to discard her child and still very much love him despite (might)knowing the truth and his Dad know the truth, cannot accept it, blame everything on Sunny and disown his family to escape the reality as he seem to favored Mari a lot The more neutral acceptance is really the best possible out come for post-end interpretation as OMOCAT also try to have us journey through the events of each character regard of their back story and incident, Hero coping and lash out toward Kel, Aubrey almost drown Basil, Kel just close out almost to anyone but himself, Mari are the best sister figure there is and everyone knows it, etc etc. In hope that us, the audience will care and pay attention enough to understand each of the cast very feelings and their guilt and to continue our own head canon with the clue they lay over for us and not end up drive the gang straight down the pits of despair again. TBH, I never been invest in any fiction until this game come out and it relate to me to the spiritual level, I have every bit of experience from all the casts in this game represent first handed and I wouldn't live to consume it today without the support of my friends which my family have very least contribution it, very much like how this whole game escalated.
I don’t remember who made this comment, but there was this guy who suggested that at the end of the credits, there should have been a scene where your mom answers a phone call and she tells you “Sunny, Aubrey/Kel/Hero wants to talk to you!”. This would have covered the hole of how they really reacted to the news. It shows that they Accepted the truth about Mari’s death and they are trying to reconnect with Sunny even though he moved. I personally think that would be a great ending, but the mystery put behind their reaction is also great for speculation.
@@WyvernRex2099 Can't really call it a 'hole' actually, it just how the open end post-story works, a writing technique where author will leave the rest of his fanbase debate whether what should happen next to keep his works active and alive, which everything are not significant and all free to discuss about both shallow and dept of the story itself onward It's what once famous author call 'Reader privilege' as the story are no longer in their hands and his fan are free to have fun with them whatever they want unless author feels the need to give more closure to it which most of the time, unlikely to happens since they love seeing their fans 'have fun' with the post story whether it'll be in negative or positive light, it just how art works TL;DR - like a work of Doujinshi(means self-public, fan made) As for me, it's correct that good end scenery show the view of car backseat that imply it is his mom's car but it not really explicitly tell that they are now moving out of Faraway either, it can be just she picked up Sunny from the hospital and drive back home too They did packed all the luggage but for my head canon and in more consistent outcome, I imagine Sunny will try to talk with him mom to stay here a while longer maybe even until summer break subside so he can spend more time with his friend and his mom are high likely to appeal to his request as a loving mother she is she Sunny not really need to concluded with he moved away and had to reconnect with his friends through phone and 3rd party tools alone. Since I'm not sure how house moving works as I never do or contract any agency once so can't give a significant scenario about the trouble you have to face if you were to shift the agreement or cancel their service midway, maybe there'll be a lost-opportunity fee you need to pay up since you just waste their time but I imagine that it's something Sunny's mom are willingly to sacrifice to better her son's social condition, as seem Sunny would be high likely to leave Basil too now that his granma are already in her dead bed and Basil will need actual company more than ever In conclusion, everything is possible as long as you can come up with scenario that have good reason to support them and you don't really need anyone approval since it's already your very privilege to goes with what you believe is best for both yourself and the story, I love consistent story flow that not locked by just a simple topic and outcome but take a lot of hint and progression into account so those will very much how my head canon will goes, and you can both agree and disagree by you own decree, not a big deal. I only want to share what I think in more wider detail not just end the post end with binary outcome like [Happily ever after] and [The despair continue], it just too boring, OMORI story deserve more elaboration than just that, or maybe just I myself that invested in them too much since I really like the story and all ( ･ω･)a
I can see Hero and Aubrey storming off, but not Kel. He’d be in shock, obviously. But he’d understand it was an accident. He’s a go-lucky guy that just wants his friends back together. Aubrey would need time, of course. But like with pushing Basil into the lake, she’d come to understand it was a moments-lashing out. An accident. Hero I think would take it the worst. We already know he shut down after Mari’s death. Learning that it wasn’t an unexplained suicide, Sunny’s mistake and Basil framing the scenes… I think he’d shut down again, taking the longest to recover. Not understanding why Kel is still hanging out with Sunny and Basil. But you have to consider that he’s learned that they shouldn’t fall apart, not unlike when Mari died. So I think he would also come around, having learned that the best way to cope is with his friends.
I love the ending where hero and Aubrey don’t forgive sunny and lash out, but then I think Aubrey would learn to accept sunny through the years while hero would have more trouble doing that
@@mewbbie from what I see, Aubrey will be the one who almost lashed out but stopped since she understands how Sunny feel after Basil almost drowned by her. Hero, I'm use he will be mad after what happened, Hero is trying to cope with the pain for 4 years, thinking what is wrong, while when the truth is revealed, he will be the one who has the longest time to accept it, but in the end, I'm use he will forgive him, judging by the situation and their age when that was happened.

Highly rational, deeply in love, thoroughly caring, loveable dork, even when he realized he make Kel cry from his coping lash out he even feels bad about it. Imagine knowing the girl he love just committed suicide out of nowhere, and you see no sigh of her sadness, her depression or her problem at all and the last thing you know she just dead and he didn't even get a chance to help her. Now come the controversial for his character setup, what will weight on him most between [He lost the love of his life] and [He feel guilty as he can't help the love of his life, preventing her from taking her own live] Hell, I even think that as a perfect yesman and high intellectual person as Hero is, he might be even conduct his own detective works and find out why Mari took her own life in the first place where she have absolutely no sign of suicidal tendency or bottled up issues at all and he keep on a perfect sadman guise to support Sunny emotionally and pretend he didn't know the truth until Sunny decide to confess other wise, sounds a lot of bull right ? But Hero's character trait are just too perfect to not come up with something so rational and consistent giving how a smart man he is he's not looks like someone to sit ideal when knowing there's something wrong with this incident, namely knowing full well Mari are totally not someone to committed suicide but he just can't quite put a finger on it, he can't even bare to see his friend getting in a little quarrel and the case as big as this is not even need an option what he will do, you can even make a short spin off story with AU like [Mari's case : Henry's journey to uncover the truth behind his love suicide incident - was it really a suicide at all ?] or something xD
Not only is the animatic itself really good but you picked such a good and fitting song for it. The part where you showed the character's reaction to Sunny telling the truth and the lyrics giving it more impact is *chef's kiss* Great work

Beautiful animatic - just some ramble-y thoughts below. The end reactions feel about as canon as it gets; although I reckon Aubury's anger will only stick with Basil after she's had time to cool off. She's knows what it's like to struggle domestically, coming from a not great home - I don't think she'd stay angry at Sunny, given that there's going to be natural space, and there seems to be a natural lenience towards him anyway. Basil, however.. It's was Basil's idea. He's the one who convinced Sunny, he's the one who hung Mari, and he's the one she's been projecting onto already. I don't know if he'll be off the hook any time soon. And Hero's involvement with that group is probably done, minus Kel. He's already in college and probably has plenty of friends anyway. I think this would probably be the final straw for him.
Damn 😭 honestly i didn't think about Aubrey and Basil's dynamic! But you're right i think if the two are to be forgiven Sunny would be first, then Basil. I think Hero's forgiveness arc would be most complicated. I want to believe they'd all be best friends in the end but is that realistic? And if so how would that forgiveness come about? I wanna see more fan works touch on this topic ♥️
Maybe way down the line they could be besties, and I too would love to see more work on it. But imagine blaming yourself for your girlfriend's suicide because you didn't see anything wrong, the one who you've been devoted to since the start and went through a depressive episode because of. Imagine bottling up all of your feelings best you can, and moving on. Just to find out it was all a lie. She was happy, and she was killed, accidentally or not. Imagine living that lie for 4 years, after spending your most recent time being nothing but concerned for the two perpetrators. Would you be able to forgive them? I honestly feel really bad for Hero, because as sad as it is, the whole 'Good Ending' arc makes me think he doesn't actually get a good ending. :(

This is amazing. I've always loved this song, and it was a great pick. Not only that, but the ending where the group doesn't take the truth well is just perfect. Hero just walks off, trying to hide his emotions being the responsible one. Aubrey gets pissed and try to kill him with Kel trying to stop her, and Basil just sits through it all. The end shot made me tear up. This whole thing is just perfect.

to see their reaction hurts so much, but it gives me much more closure to know how they feel, and makes the smile exchanged between basil and sunny more meaningful,
-Favorite band with one of my top favorite games, this is so great. -That transition at 1:50 is SO clean -all the parts that hit in the song and in the game came together for *chef's kiss of real feels*

i keep coming back to watch this and the ending gets me every dang time lol, the swelling of the music, hero walking out, and kel having to hold aubrey back--i tear up immediately!
One of the things I most like about Omori is the more you think about it, the more you realize. One person pointed out how much headspaced was centered around Mari, from purple (Mari's favorite color), being the color the characters are to watermellons (Mari's favorite fruit) being the things used to hide little treasures. One of the mods for the game (i think it was the dreamer mod, idk) kinda highlighted the cripticness of Mari in headspace. She'd say things like "and the only cost is your love!" All the time and i never payed much attention to it. But also... In the real world, by throwing away the violin (a symbol of the group's love for Sunny), he basically rejected Mari's love, and, because of that, had everything built on Mari stolen away from him. (This is just my perspective). Omori is filled with little intresting things like this. It's use of clear and meaningful symbolism allows for even the 20th playthrough to be filled with such raw energy and passion over finding the smallest of things. Honestly, i love this game and the fandom that surrounds it!
⚠️SPOILERS⚠️ Bruh this ending I- Sunny already believed he didn't deserve his friends because he considered himself a liar until he mustered up the courage to say something. It probably broke him to see Hero and Aubrey react the way he was afraid of. Sunny knew everyone was always wondering why Mari would kill herself and he felt like he had to listen in silence. To imagine Hero and Aubrey reacted in such a way (not wrongfully of course- since it's pretty serious news to them too and they'd have the right to be upset-) after he decided he was ready to get it off his chest must have been devastating. Basil didn't say anything. The secret he was trying to keep for so long just got out and all he could have done was watch. Maybe Sunny was a little more prepared for it since he was the one to tell Aubrey, Hero and Kel, but Basil didn't know he was going to say anything and was probably really shocked. They all loved Mari. It was Basil's idea to disguise her death as suicide. He probably felt really guilty about it, especially after seeing Hero and Aubrey react. Aubrey loved Mari. It made her change a lot to see someone she looked up to "commit suicide". Finding out that Mari wasn't the one to kill herself must have been hard. Sunny and Basil kept it from her for so long when they knew that frustration was the reason for her changing so much. Hero loved Mari too, but I'm sure we all know his love was different from Aubrey's. Mari was the older sister and he was the older brother of the group. She was kind to him, she complimented him, she cared about him, probably more than anyone beside his own family. All of that was taken away so suddenly, and he just found out that her own brother did that (and Basil). So of course he was mad. Kel didn't have time to think. He just got everyone back together and he could have already seen that it wasn't going to be the same. Aubrey would've hurt Basil and Sunny if Kel didn't hold her back. He couldn't even follow Hero because of it and he just had to watch him leave more broken than he was when she first died. This was BEAUTIFUL-
That.... Is the most canonically reasonable post-ending scene I've ever seen... Omori 2 will never be anymore about dealing his past demons, but about his present demons (metaphorically) by seeking forgiveness from his friends... if Omori 2 will ever come out, this will be a very, VERY painful ride....
We all just want them to be together and happy- especially our underrated babies, for example Kel… he wants everyone to stick together and be together, yet he could loose anyone yet again… also depicting Omori in a kind of „coffin“ in a kinda dracula shape is a crazy good depiction, or Basil‘s eyes in the shape of something- I‘m so impressed by your incredible talent in drawing and animating, it‘s irreplaceable, and incredible.
After only just buying and finishing Omori somehow keeping myself from spoilers I find myself constantly watching Omori related videos on breakdowns and animations. Love em'.
I feel like Omori is more about Sunny forgiving himself instead of his friends forgiving him but it’s still heartbreaking to see his friends turn their backs on him 😭
This animation is SO GOOD the amount of effort put in this, the various moments of the game presented are so accurate and sensational and the ending is just... It hits right in the feels.
I learnt something years ago. If someone did something bad and fully regret it. They don’t deserve to be labeled as a bad person for it. If someone robbed someone else and got caught but completely regret what they did. They aren’t a robber.
I know this game is pretty dark, and the song makes it even darker, but I can’t get over how cute some of the scenes are. At the same time, some of them are horrifying! Amazing.

This song literally reflects, how I’ve literally tried my best and still have the worst luck ever. Like literally. I never win anything, nothing ever seems to go right. I’m not particularly special. I’m literally just another face in the crowd. It just makes no sense, I’ve made mistakes but none enough to make the world hate me. Goddamn.
Welp, great song choice, absolutely amazing art and I think the headcanon ending we can all agree on. In my opinion, in the true ending sequence the friends shouldve seen how many flowers Sunny has gathered from the many people that sent them, and seen how much he tried to improve himself. Seen how happy he has singlehandedly (Little help from Kel) achieved. And then them being friends again can become more realistic. I mean, he got THAT many flowers from people in 3 days... how can you not forgive the guy.
This is by far my favorite Omori animatic, love love love all the details and just this is perfect. The song, it fits perfectly! You are a beautiful person, never stop being you love!
I like to think that the ending at the end showing Hero and Aubrey lash out and leave Sunny would most likely happen in the normal ending, whereas in the ending where you get to see Sunny and Basil smile at each other they would be more accepting, but still lash out, or at least Aubrey would.
The line “you say that I’m better, why don’t I feel better” fits so well with the scene shown. Not only does it represent Sunny being rejected by his friends despite doing what was right and should have made him feel better, but also represents how Hero feels, because the truth is normally refreshing, but in this scenario it’s tearing up Hero from the inside and even though he’s extremely kindhearted, he will still also probably be the last one to forgive Sunny, if he ever does.

In my opinion this is the most realistic outcome. They'd all lash out and kel would try to keep them together. Hero would get really mad which is understandable and so would Aubrey but Aubrey would have to forgive sunny tho because of the situation with basil where she pushed him. Sunny wasn't as fortunate as her having people there to save mari like when hero saved basil.

That shot with Omori in the casket and running out of it to Basil is SO good and SO BEAUTIFUL AAAHHHH there's so much significance in the game put in there for so much significance this is so good I'm glad I finally played this game so I could see animatics like this :D
(This comments has spoilers, but if you clicked on this video, you might have been expecting that) And then with this ending, I imagine that scene with Basil and Omori smiling at each other would be when they grow up, they are adults and have been haunted by Something until that point when Omori returns home and finds Basil. They become best friends once more, working out their traumas together and who knows.. Aubrey and Kel may forgive them, but Hero might just not.

This made me cry, I fell back into the omori fandom 3 months ago, and had to replay it. Then I saw this. I swear I discovered the fandom to late because everyone already had left, but suddenly I wish it would come back, I can never seem to find anyone still into it that can share the omori sadness with me, aside from all of that, this is absolutely amazing, and literally just killed me emotionality
I love the Butler's pose, lmao. Ugh, Sunny/Omori making up with dream Basil is so adorable, your expressions are so good and there's such a sense of movement even with so few frames. On a similar note, at 3:50: :( Aubrey.exe has encountered a fatal error. Would you like to restart in Recovery Mode? And Sunny just... accepting their reactions. Not once in game did his stoic expression hurt me this bad. I just hope he doesn't backslide :(

Was really good and I did not think a AJR song would apply so well to the Omori game and story, but here you used the song in such a good way and it made me almost cry just like the final duet scene ;w; The ending got me good too- this was really well done and unfortunately that ending is probably how it would go down canonically so extra emotional points to you, well done!

Aubrey, Hero, and Kel taking Sunny admitting to the truth about Mari's death badly is the realistic ending. Like, in real life if you told your friends that you killed someone they all carried about and kept it a secret from them for 3 years, they'd be pissed and upset. But, the game preaches that "You must trust in your friends that they'll forgive you, because they love you." I think that the gang would be upset at first, but, they'd come to realize that Basil and Sunny atoned enough and would forgive them. They know that Sunny and Basil are good people and know they loved Mari too, so they'd accept it as an accident and move on with their lives, together. At least, that's what I think, the more realistic ending is what this animation represents, everyone storming off with mixed feelings of anger and sadness, a less happy ending. Maybe the way I think it would've gone down is a lot more happy and hopeful, but, OMOCAT didn't make Omori to just put smiles on our faces, it was also made to make us cry, and I think an ending where the gang just... falls apart and never sees or talks to each other again is very depressing.
That's kind of why i liked that they left it to interpretation. Cause both beliefs are valid ya know? I definitely think they'd all come around eventually, but how and when are going to different for everyone. It's very interesting to think about! ♥️
I totally agreed with you, this game create things that reflect reality and OMOCAT already take as much as realistic approach into account, such as Sunny mom not have a heart to discard her child and still very much love him despite (might)knowing the truth and his Dad know the truth, cannot accept it, blame everything on Sunny and disown his family to escape the reality as he seem to favored Mari a lot
The more neutral acceptance is really the best possible out come for post-end interpretation as OMOCAT also try to have us journey through the events of each character regard of their back story and incident, Hero coping and lash out toward Kel, Aubrey almost drown Basil, Kel just close out almost to anyone but himself, Mari are the best sister figure there is and everyone knows it, etc etc.
In hope that us, the audience will care and pay attention enough to understand each of the cast very feelings and their guilt and to continue our own head canon with the clue they lay over for us and not end up drive the gang straight down the pits of despair again.
TBH, I never been invest in any fiction until this game come out and it relate to me to the spiritual level, I have every bit of experience from all the casts in this game represent first handed and I wouldn't live to consume it today without the support of my friends which my family have very least contribution it, very much like how this whole game escalated.
I don’t remember who made this comment, but there was this guy who suggested that at the end of the credits, there should have been a scene where your mom answers a phone call and she tells you “Sunny, Aubrey/Kel/Hero wants to talk to you!”. This would have covered the hole of how they really reacted to the news. It shows that they Accepted the truth about Mari’s death and they are trying to reconnect with Sunny even though he moved. I personally think that would be a great ending, but the mystery put behind their reaction is also great for speculation.

As for me, it's correct that good end scenery show the view of car backseat that imply it is his mom's car but it not really explicitly tell that they are now moving out of Faraway either, it can be just she picked up Sunny from the hospital and drive back home too
They did packed all the luggage but for my head canon and in more consistent outcome, I imagine Sunny will try to talk with him mom to stay here a while longer maybe even until summer break subside so he can spend more time with his friend and his mom are high likely to appeal to his request as a loving mother she is she Sunny not really need to concluded with he moved away and had to reconnect with his friends through phone and 3rd party tools alone.
Since I'm not sure how house moving works as I never do or contract any agency once so can't give a significant scenario about the trouble you have to face if you were to shift the agreement or cancel their service midway, maybe there'll be a lost-opportunity fee you need to pay up since you just waste their time but I imagine that it's something Sunny's mom are willingly to sacrifice to better her son's social condition, as seem Sunny would be high likely to leave Basil too now that his granma are already in her dead bed and Basil will need actual company more than ever
In conclusion, everything is possible as long as you can come up with scenario that have good reason to support them and you don't really need anyone approval since it's already your very privilege to goes with what you believe is best for both yourself and the story, I love consistent story flow that not locked by just a simple topic and outcome but take a lot of hint and progression into account so those will very much how my head canon will goes, and you can both agree and disagree by you own decree, not a big deal.
I only want to share what I think in more wider detail not just end the post end with binary outcome like [Happily ever after] and [The despair continue], it just too boring, OMORI story deserve more elaboration than just that, or maybe just I myself that invested in them too much since I really like the story and all ( ･ω･)a
I can see Hero and Aubrey storming off, but not Kel. He’d be in shock, obviously. But he’d understand it was an accident. He’s a go-lucky guy that just wants his friends back together.
Aubrey would need time, of course. But like with pushing Basil into the lake, she’d come to understand it was a moments-lashing out. An accident.
Hero I think would take it the worst. We already know he shut down after Mari’s death. Learning that it wasn’t an unexplained suicide, Sunny’s mistake and Basil framing the scenes… I think he’d shut down again, taking the longest to recover. Not understanding why Kel is still hanging out with Sunny and Basil. But you have to consider that he’s learned that they shouldn’t fall apart, not unlike when Mari died.
So I think he would also come around, having learned that the best way to cope is with his friends.
I love the ending where hero and Aubrey don’t forgive sunny and lash out, but then I think Aubrey would learn to accept sunny through the years while hero would have more trouble doing that

Hero, I'm use he will be mad after what happened, Hero is trying to cope with the pain for 4 years, thinking what is wrong, while when the truth is revealed, he will be the one who has the longest time to accept it, but in the end, I'm use he will forgive him, judging by the situation and their age when that was happened.

Imagine knowing the girl he love just committed suicide out of nowhere, and you see no sigh of her sadness, her depression or her problem at all and the last thing you know she just dead and he didn't even get a chance to help her. Now come the controversial for his character setup, what will weight on him most between [He lost the love of his life] and [He feel guilty as he can't help the love of his life, preventing her from taking her own live]
Hell, I even think that as a perfect yesman and high intellectual person as Hero is, he might be even conduct his own detective works and find out why Mari took her own life in the first place where she have absolutely no sign of suicidal tendency or bottled up issues at all and he keep on a perfect sadman guise to support Sunny emotionally and pretend he didn't know the truth until Sunny decide to confess other wise, sounds a lot of bull right ?
But Hero's character trait are just too perfect to not come up with something so rational and consistent giving how a smart man he is he's not looks like someone to sit ideal when knowing there's something wrong with this incident, namely knowing full well Mari are totally not someone to committed suicide but he just can't quite put a finger on it, he can't even bare to see his friend getting in a little quarrel and the case as big as this is not even need an option what he will do, you can even make a short spin off story with AU like [Mari's case : Henry's journey to uncover the truth behind his love suicide incident - was it really a suicide at all ?] or something xD

Beautiful animatic - just some ramble-y thoughts below.
The end reactions feel about as canon as it gets; although I reckon Aubury's anger will only stick with Basil after she's had time to cool off.
She's knows what it's like to struggle domestically, coming from a not great home - I don't think she'd stay angry at Sunny, given that there's going to be natural space, and there seems to be a natural lenience towards him anyway. Basil, however..
It's was Basil's idea. He's the one who convinced Sunny, he's the one who hung Mari, and he's the one she's been projecting onto already. I don't know if he'll be off the hook any time soon.
And Hero's involvement with that group is probably done, minus Kel. He's already in college and probably has plenty of friends anyway. I think this would probably be the final straw for him.
Damn 😭 honestly i didn't think about Aubrey and Basil's dynamic! But you're right i think if the two are to be forgiven Sunny would be first, then Basil. I think Hero's forgiveness arc would be most complicated. I want to believe they'd all be best friends in the end but is that realistic? And if so how would that forgiveness come about? Just to find out it was all a lie. She was happy, and she was killed, accidentally or not. Imagine living that lie for 4 years, after spending your most recent time being nothing but concerned for the two perpetrators. Would you be able to forgive them?
I honestly feel really bad for Hero, because as sad as it is, the whole 'Good Ending' arc makes me think he doesn't actually get a good ending. :(

This is amazing. I've always loved this song, and it was a great pick. Not only that, but the ending where the group doesn't take the truth well is just perfect. Hero just walks off, trying to hide his emotions being the responsible one. Aubrey gets pissed and try to kill him with Kel trying to stop her, and Basil just sits through it all. The end shot made me tear up. This whole thing is just perfect.

One of the things I most like about Omori is the more you think about it, the more you realize.
One person pointed out how much headspaced was centered around Mari, from purple (Mari's favorite color), being the color the characters are to watermellons (Mari's favorite fruit) being the things used to hide little treasures.
One of the mods for the game (i think it was the dreamer mod, idk) kinda highlighted the cripticness of Mari in headspace. She'd say things like "and the only cost is your love!" All the time and i never payed much attention to it.
But also...
In the real world, by throwing away the violin (a symbol of the group's love for Sunny), he basically rejected Mari's love, and, because of that, had everything built on Mari stolen away from him. (This is just my perspective).
Omori is filled with little intresting things like this. It's use of clear and meaningful symbolism allows for even the 20th playthrough to be filled with such raw energy and passion over finding the smallest of things.
Honestly, i love this game and the fandom that surrounds it!

Bruh this ending I-
Sunny already believed he didn't deserve his friends because he considered himself a liar until he mustered up the courage to say something. It probably broke him to see Hero and Aubrey react the way he was afraid of. Sunny knew everyone was always wondering why Mari would kill herself and he felt like he had to listen in silence. To imagine Hero and Aubrey reacted in such a way (not wrongfully of course- since it's pretty serious news to them too and they'd have the right to be upset-) after he decided he was ready to get it off his chest must have been devastating.
Basil didn't say anything. The secret he was trying to keep for so long just got out and all he could have done was watch. Maybe Sunny was a little more prepared for it since he was the one to tell Aubrey, Hero and Kel, but Basil didn't know he was going to say anything and was probably really shocked. They all loved Mari. It was Basil's idea to disguise her death as suicide. He probably felt really guilty about it, especially after seeing Hero and Aubrey react.
Aubrey loved Mari. It made her change a lot to see someone she looked up to "commit suicide". Finding out that Mari wasn't the one to kill herself must have been hard. Sunny and Basil kept it from her for so long when they knew that frustration was the reason for her changing so much.
Hero loved Mari too, but I'm sure we all know his love was different from Aubrey's. Mari was the older sister and he was the older brother of the group. She was kind to him, she complimented him, she cared about him, probably more than anyone beside his own family. All of that was taken away so suddenly, and he just found out that her own brother did that (and Basil). So of course he was mad.
Kel didn't have time to think. He just got everyone back together and he could have already seen that it wasn't going to be the same. Aubrey would've hurt Basil and Sunny if Kel didn't hold her back. He couldn't even follow Hero because of it and he just had to watch him leave more broken than he was when she first died.

God the ending just hit like a ton of bricks. I mean yeah, that's a pretty realistic way for it to go.

This animation is SO GOOD the amount of effort put in this, the various moments of the game presented are so accurate and sensational and the ending is just... It hits right in the feels.

Welp, great song choice, absolutely amazing art and I think the headcanon ending we can all agree on.
In my opinion, in the true ending sequence the friends shouldve seen how many flowers Sunny has gathered from the many people that sent them, and seen how much he tried to improve himself. Seen how happy he has singlehandedly (Little help from Kel) achieved. And then them being friends again can become more realistic.
I mean, he got THAT many flowers from people in 3 days... how can you not forgive the guy.

I like to think that the ending at the end showing Hero and Aubrey lash out and leave Sunny would most likely happen in the normal ending, whereas in the ending where you get to see Sunny and Basil smile at each other they would be more accepting, but still lash out, or at least Aubrey would.

The line “you say that I’m better, why don’t I feel better” fits so well with the scene shown. Not only does it represent Sunny being rejected by his friends despite doing what was right and should have made him feel better, but also represents how Hero feels, because the truth is normally refreshing, but in this scenario it’s tearing up Hero from the inside and even though he’s extremely kindhearted, he will still also probably be the last one to forgive Sunny, if he ever does.

In my opinion this is the most realistic outcome. They'd all lash out and kel would try to keep them together. Hero would get really mad which is understandable and so would Aubrey but Aubrey would have to forgive sunny tho because of the situation with basil where she pushed him. Sunny wasn't as fortunate as her having people there to save mari like when hero saved basil.

That shot with Omori in the casket and running out of it to Basil is SO good and SO BEAUTIFUL AAAHHHH there's so much significance in the game put in there for so much significance this is so good I'm glad I finally played this game so I could see animatics like this :D

And then with this ending, I imagine that scene with Basil and Omori smiling at each other would be when they grow up, they are adults and have been haunted by Something until that point when Omori returns home and finds Basil. They become best friends once more, working out their traumas together and who knows.. Aubrey and Kel may forgive them, but Hero might just not.

Was really good and I did not think a AJR song would apply so well to the Omori game and story, but here you used the song in such a good way and it made me almost cry just like the final duet scene ;w;
The ending got me good too- this was really well done and unfortunately that ending is probably how it would go down canonically so extra emotional points to you, well done!
