I'd say the way you charged up the last one third of that very high sand dune was most impressive. Much respect!

I think you must be a good guide to go on a trip with. You always choose tasty and unusual things to eat. 😋

Never knew there's such a place in Japan. Hope I can visit the dunes someday.
I realised Tottori city itself is almost the same size as Singapore. But the city population is even smaller than many towns in Singapore.

Would love to visit the Sand Museum, and the key to walking up sand dunes is " DON'T WALK UP IN A STRAIGHT LINE." Walk up it in a zig-zag path, the longer the easier, not the shortest way. It's like walking up a snow covered hill, less taxing on the body.

Ok you’ve just done a Michael Palin - real man that followed in fictious Phileas Fogg’s travels, Around the World in 80 days, and in Ewan McGregor/Charley Boorman’s tracks that did Long Way Round - London to New York on motorbikes stopping at a mini Grand Canyon in Kazakhstan but only you’ve done Japan to Egypt’s camels and desert to Kazakhstan‘s huge Singing Sand Dunes in one day lol
Don’t ever change you crack me up 👏
Here’s a quirky idea for a future trip.
If you can find a Japanese equivilent to Weir’s Way, quirky older Scotsman Tom Weir that walked Scotland in the 1970s to 1980s with filming crew (no mobile phones/video cameras then) aye am over 21 lol and if you find the Japanese equiv to East Neuk of Fife’s Anstruther famous house totally covered in seashells and the Whalebone Arch (all long gone now) I’ll send you boxes of yummy Scottish tea cakes and Carmel wafers lol.
Hey If you’ve got equiv of the Statue of Liberty and Golden Gate Bridge in Japan and the Eiffel Tower is in Blackpool lol anything’s possible.
So, is there a house that’s outside walls are totally covered in seashells and a whalebone arch in Japan 🤔

Anyway, thanks again for your amazing travels
