Important correction: to update firmware on the Receiver, the USB cable must NOT be connected. A Receiver without updated firmware connects to the Transmitter over Wifi, but will only show (in my case) a white screen with the Zhiyun logo. With the cable connection, the wifi sync does happen, so it's a mandatory first step, but in order for the app to show the Receiver update, the cable must be removed, and only the wifi connection must be active. Otherwise, fantastic video - helped me A LOT - but this small detail ruined me the best part of the day. Of course, I should have read the received manual better first. Cheers.
i read this after i spent 30min trying to figure it out. I'm glad i saw it because to be honest i wasn't sure what it was i did differently to get it to work.
I think this won’t have a heavy enough payload for that camera rig. If the Scarlet has HDMI out, you could probably use it, though there are cheap wireless transmission systems that might perform better as standalone units.
does that same motion control unit work on the Crane 3? I'm trying to find out for certain but nothing I seem to find says or doesn't say definitively. Any info helps.
You don’t need to bypass the gimbal connection and launch from the transmitter app... I always follow these steps and works just fine for me every time: 1) Power on the Weebill-S 2) Power on the Image Transmission Module (default is 2.4G or last setting - quick press power button 3 times after powered on for 5G wifi) 3) Power on the camera 4) Launch ZY Play App, connect to gimbal - once connected it will automatically bring up the connect to Image Transmission Module That’s it!! You have camera control and video feed. 5G Wifi mode seems a little more stable and less lag.
Unseen Thailand Chiang Mai - I had issues where my iPhone Xr would not connect in 2.4GHz WiFi unless I disabled Cellular Data, but even then I still had issues with laggy image feed, freezing, and losing connection all together... When I found out about 5GHz WiFi mode, I switched to that, and no problems since - remember, press the power button 3 times after it is powered on, the Green LED will flash intermittently 3 times to indicated 5GHz WiFi mode is now active - it will stay in 5GHz mode each time you power it up until you change it back
Boy, this is proving hard work to set up. I found that to get a picture on the monitor - once the transmitter/receiver are talking - you have to double tap the power button on the receiver to get the picture up or you just see the whie zhiyun screen. I've had no luck so far with the remote handle operating anything at all. I'm using the 3S by the way with the zoom/focus motors and the BMPCC 6k. Thanks a lot Garret. Your tip for using micro usb over micro B port saved my day. No ! Saved my week. I was trying to setup 5d Mark 3 and 50mm lens on weebil s and it was nearly impossible to find mini usb to micro B connector. Before watching your video i was setting up with some OTG setup and finally when it comes to balance the setup for the last axis, the micro B big end was hitting on the gimbal. So i was thinking that these guys who made these gimbal probably never thought about these issue with image transmission module. Then I found your video.
Great video G. Informative and well delivered. I've recently purchased the receiver to pair with the Weebill and my new Sony a6600. I'm quite excited to get the system up and running. Still waiting for the mini HDMI to arrive which will complete the connections. Fingers crossed. Thanks buddy.

I mean its nice to see the features but currently you cant buy those parts to complete your gimbal setup :/
Hi Garrett. Great video. Thanks for making this. However, it seems the receiver is no longer available. Even on the Zhiyun website. Did they discontinue it? Do you have to have 2 transmitters now? Did they replace it with something else?
Hi Garrett, I took a quick look at your other videos, however I didnt see a Zhiyun transmount wireless image transmission 2.0 review, have you used/reviewed one ? If not what have you heard about this device :) Thanks Steve
good after friend, first of all I would like to thank you for such great videos you put out on your Chanel, specially the one of how to set up the Zhiyun gimbal. I purchased the Crane 3S pro kit a few days ago but unfortunately I haven't been able to find the wireless receiver. By any change do you know where can I find it. I would like to add it to my new set up but amazon is not selling it anymore or B&H. I will appreciate if you could guide me to where I could purchase it. Thank you. Keep up the good work.
Quick question.. Will the remote handle and receiver work with the newer Zhiyun TransMount Transmitter Ai on the Crane 3sPro. They have released a MasterEye unit (all in one) unit that looks great BUT at only 1000nits I prefer my Blackmagic 12G Video Assist or Fotga monitors, both having brighter 2500nit screens. Plus the remote handle you showed here have a better ergonomics grip than the newer and smaller MasterEys unit. Thanks
You can! There’s a standard amount of latency for HDMI and WiFi, but it isn’t enough to be critical. That said, super fast motion and things would lag a bit.
awesome video, so much so I bought the whole secondary setup for remote focus, pan etc. Quick question though, I didn't see the cables that were used to connect the zhiyun receiver to the feelword f6plus and I assume the second cable is micro USB to micro USB to connect the receiver to the remote? Any help from anyone would be appreciated :)
Awesome and helpful video! But I have a problem, can you please help? My camera display goes black when the image transmission module is connected and the camera is set to manual photo. My camera is a Sony a7iii. I'm shooting photos in a studio on a tripod and using the transmission module as a standalone without the gimbal.
Hi Garrett, I'm using the weebill S with a feelworld F6 plus with HDMI in & out and wanted to know if you can loop through the monitor back out to the transmitter without any signal loss so I can monitor on the F6 and still send a signal to the client. Thanks.
@@garrettsammons Hey what's up Garrett, thanks for the great videos and tutorials, all around! A quick question on this setup for you --> Are you familiar if the wireless image transmission system would still work smoothly if the camera already has an external monitor directly mounted to the Weebill S, by chance? I currently have the Weebill S with a Ninja monitor connected to it. This is for recording along with a visual view while filming. Any idea if this would still work if I add the Image Transmission System with the remote attached to a second monitor? The goal would be to film with with a camera and monitor on the weebill s and then have a friend also viewing or adjusting the focus or angle from a transmission system and remote setup. Or possibly having the just the transmitter mounted to the camera and then use a cell phone to have a friend viewing the footage as its being recorded? Thanks for the insight!
Congrats on a great video! Very well done. I have one question: If I wanted to grab a signal from the system and feed it into a multi-cam device like a Blackmagic ATEM Pro Iso, where would I make that connection? I'd like to keep the ability to use movement control, but I think the ATEM would want to hog the signal.
Canon SL 1,2 & 3 plugs are on the opposite side which sucks bc it won’t reach and I used different cables and they are in the way, just so people know before they buy if they have ports on opposite side
Very good video!! I bought this same gimbal for my Sony a7iii. I can't manage to take photos, film, control the ISO... like you do in the video. I'm sure it's not a problem with the gimbal, it's probably some configuration of the camera that I have to change. Do you have any idea what it could be? How can I solve that?
did you get this solved mate? My setup is mostly workingl, but I can't get focusand ISO not working from the remote control, while zoom is. On my weebill S gimbal, I can't see ISO or F stop.. focus is working from the gimbal wheel
Absolutely you can. It would work like any other input system. The Hollyland Mars 400S Pro is a wireless transmitted literally built for live streaming. I did a video on that one here: ua-cam.com/video/HsEUAlLyb1w/v-deo.html
Great video, very thorough. Do you know if I had the receive module and had it run the HDMI into a capture device (on a PC) I could get a clean HDMI (no camera info/HUD on screen) signal? Thinking this could be an awesome way to have a roaming/wireless cam for online streams for cheap (current solutions quite pricey). Haven’t been able to find an answer anywhere.
Thanks for the video! I have problems getting a consistent moving focus wheel when using the motion controller. Have you had the same problem? Pulling focus directly on the gimbal works fine btw. It's only about the remote.
Hi my name is LOOCKSON First of all I great you for this video , I leaned a lot from you . Thank you 🙏 My question is , if I have a ZHIYUN CRANE 3 LAB Do you think the TransMount Motion Sensor gonna work on it please ? Thank you .
Has anyone had any issue of the pan really slowly drifting ( camera right, in my case) when the remote handle is engaged in motion control?!? It starts a creeping drift to the right as soon as I engage the switch or as soon as I stop the camera move. I was also noticing that when I stop it has a very slight (but perceptible) "nudge" back in the opposite direction after a camera move. Is it a matter of tweaking the motor settings(on the 3S)??? Very informative vid Garrett! I do however, wish you would have mentioned the double click on the receiver to get an image (would have saved me a few more hours down this setup/hair pulling rabbit hole!!). Many thanks!!!
Not exact motion controll. There is a huge delay from wha I see in the video. Has this something to do with how the gimbal was configured or is this the 60ms dekay of the image transmition system ?
Thanx for the in depth video! Im wondering how to connect a SSD for recording to my BMPCC 6K, because cameras USB is used by the transmitter. Possible? I dont wanna use cards when using the transmitter and couldnd find an answer to this so far

Thank You so Much for Making this video. Its Helps Really really a Lot.. Keep making such Videos, Will be waiting for the next videos. Thank You...
Sweet. Enjoyed watching your video n I “picked your brain” on a-lot of cool stuff.
awesome video, so much so I bought the whole secondary setup for remote focus, pan etc. Quick question though, I didn't see the cables that were used to connect the zhiyun receiver to the feelword f6plus and I assume the second cable is micro USB to micro USB to connect the receiver to the remote? Any help from anyone would be appreciated :)
I would love to see how smooth some B roll clips look when shot remote with movement. Has me curious
Thank you Garret!
Hi Garrett,
I'm using the weebill S with a feelworld F6 plus with HDMI in & out and wanted to know if you can loop through the monitor back out to the transmitter without any signal loss so I can monitor on the F6 and still send a signal to the client. Thanks.
Nice breakdown / review. Best yet. Keep up the great work!!!
Thanks, will do!
EXCELLENT Review! Thank you! Smoooth, creative video and you offer excellent insight all around! Greatly appreciate it! All the best!
Appreciate the kind words!
Can I connect the receiver to a blackmagic ATEM and get a clean hdmi output for streaming?
i also want to know this
Absolutely you can.
You... You made everything work. Thank you.
Hi Garrett, Do you have a video showing a detailed setup of the Weebill 2 and the master eye? I do have the transmitter AI installed..
Maybe I'll reach out to them and see if they can send one for me to make another tutorial on.
this setup is crazy, howver how many cameras are compatible with this complete setup.
Hi my name is LOOCKSON
First of all I great you for this video , I leaned a lot from you .
Thank you 🙏
My question is , if I have a ZHIYUN CRANE 3 LAB Do you think the TransMount Motion Sensor gonna work on it please ?
Thank you .
Amazing work mate! So detailed and clear!
Glad you found it helpful!
Thanks for the video! Can you connect more than one cellphone at the time? I mean, I can operate with one and the director can watch with another?
helpful video, Garrett! Thanks so much!
Can you use focus and zoom motors with just controller and transmitters? With out gimbel?
Very detailed video! I hope now people know how important firmware update is!
One question: how many can I have running at once connected to the same Cell Phone? Thanks!
same :D how much output
Hey Garrett, you have amazing content.
I recently bought the basic Weebill S gimbal. I am now I'm trying to figure out what would be the best way to use it at an elevated position (20') to record the my daughter's soccer games.
I have a DSLR Canon T7 and Canon Vixia HF800. Which camera do you suggest I use?
Also will I need to get the Zhiyun Transmount Wireless Image Transmission Transmitter?
Any suggestions or advice would would be amazingly appreciated.
Hey man! super helpful video, you're way underrated! btw 12:30 so the Receiver and the Transmitter here is an exactly same unit, right?
They look nearly identical, but the transmitter and receivers are different units in function.
Idk if you still reply to comments but with the MasterEye controller is the transmission still able to be sent to different devices?
hi , awesome review.. I have a question. I couldn't see zhiyun in my mobile phone wifi list.. Why could it be happen ?
Great review! Do you have a link to the mounting plate you used to connect the remote and monitor? Didn't see it in description.
It comes with the remote 😊
Will it work if there is no internet connection? There are many times we shoot in remote locations with no internet.
Hello Garrett. Great video, helped a lot. All done except can't find a mini HDMI to HDMI. Were can I find one of these. Zhiyun should put one in the box
I had luck on Amazon and Newegg. You can get them in different lengths too which is nice
Thanks for being so detailed
Is it possible to use the dji crystal sky monitor with the motion controller and receiver?
So I'm thinking of picking up the weebill S with the transmitter and servo max controller, it's almost the end of 2022, is it still a decent setup?
