It’s not a spline, it’s a gear. The grease supposed to look like that, it’s some sort of molybdenum. There’s plenty of videos online and you can go to dewalt parts catalog before you pull anything apart in the future! Hopefully this helps and I hope you got that beast back together

Torque test channel did a video 1 year ago and at minute 10:58 you can see this part. It looks the same.

No that's normal, but if it has any knocking or grinding that means the planetaries are shot; that's what happened to mine
