I'm not gonna lie, I only recently figured out how powerful the Survivalist's Rifle actually is when using the right ammo and perks, literally will dome a death claw from stealth in a single shot.

I always treat Honest Hearts as a leisurely vacation during my wacky wasteland adventures. I adore Zion and the unique weapons it adds.

@@logankurua-up1bc I for one think that it has just the right amount of cool loot to grab. Besides, it's not the amount of cool shit that does it for me, it's the stories behind that cool shit! The Suvivalist's Rifle is one of my favourite weapons of all time. RIP Randall Clark.
The Dead Horses war club is underrated as heck. Fast swing speed paired with Super Slam? You could beat Lanius to death with it
@@dragonfell5078for me the best thing it adds is 1911. I’m from Utah and very few games are set up in here. I’m also a Mormon so I was pleasantly surprised of how they treated my faith. The 1911 is my state gun and was made and developed here. I only wish it also included the browning fifty cal machine gun which was also made in and developed in Utah.
@@logankurua-up1bc if you think it was severely lacking in unique gear, dead money doesn't even have unique weapons. maybe the holorifle, sure and i can only think of three unique armor in that dlc. vera's dress, dean's tuxedo and elijah's armor.
@@dragonfell5078 i really hated the game spawning two adult yao guais after exiting the cave where you get the grand staircase holotape. just had enough turbo and shotgun ammo to deal with those two and at the same time not letting my companion die. i had the shotgun knockdown perk at the time and had to try over and overto keep both of them knocked down lol

Never give uniques to followers, gave cass the medicine stick and she got disarmed. Never saw it again

I gave a riot shotgun to arcade Gannon and he lost it and I got a little angry but it was only like 2.5k caps so
I gave Boone the minigun that you find in the devil's throat and the liberator (machete) with ncr salvaged power armor and he is totally over powered.
The pistol "A light in shining darkness" has Ancient Greek writing on it and i know it cause im Greek and its simply means "The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it."

I enjoyed the guide. The survivalist's rifle is my baby. In my opinion it's the best gun in the game. With 100 guns it mauls everyone and fits my sharpshooting character well. One thing that you forgot to mention about it is that the sights are slightly bent so you have to adjust where you aim a little bit.
Well for a gun that's been around since the US invasion of Canada, its in not that bad of shape XD

not only is it a hell of a gun, the story of Randall Clark (Dude Who owned the gun) is really interesting as well.

The Mexican You do "player.additem xx(itemidhere)" in the console. The xx is the load order of the dlc. If you have no mods then it'll most likely be 01 for DM, 02 for HH, 03 for OWB, and 04 for LR

Helmet doesn't suck. It has good DT and it doesn't weigh anything and also it counts as light armor not heavy like the riot gear helmets. You can repair that helmet with any light which is very good because light headwear is common. Only reason this helmet wouldn't be great is because it doesn't offer anything like red vision and other stats. But still a great helmet.
Jager is bae yeah, my main character would be dead 10 times over without that armor.

@@ulysses4989 Not sure if this info is useful to you anymore, but it's 75 to start, which I was able to raise to 100 via a speech check with the other vault dweller in the party (you can get him to carry some of your stuff, supposedly)

@Diogenes TheDog you only need the perk to make the overloaded ammo. the regular version only needs the components and a high repair skill
I have over 3000 but it's still rare ammo. So I just buy the ammo from vendors. I have over 140,000 caps so I don't give a shit

Honestly, the survivalist rifle and desert ranger armor are the only two things I like out the unique items in the Honest Hearts DLC

I like how Zion canyon is not affected at all by nukes, like 1 last haven left in the american southwest, a 2 week walk from the Mojave Wasteland
Those who don't know the desert rangers are part of the ncr now but back then the desert rangers were not part of the ncr they were more like a inspiration for the ncr I think they joined the ncr before or in the exact time period of fallout new vegas

I started an entirely different quest line. I ended up killing Daniel and only doing 1 quest.

Whwn i arrived there they attacked me SO i haven't noticed that it was (optional) so i ended up killing everybody and leaving
So basically 2 Weapons and 1 armour piece to find the rest is given to you at the end
nop, 3 weapons (compliance reg, 12.7mm rifle and the unique yao guai gauntlet)
keep in mind that this is a unique weapons showcase, but HH added a lot more unique types of weapons to the game like the tomahawk, .45mm pistol and SMG, fire bomb, etc
Although Honest Hearts is my least favourite DLC I have to say that Zion looks beautiful!
If you have the animal friend perk 1 and or two the only thing you have to worry about are the natives attacking. Great way for me to discover playing this DLC for the first time and feeling that I took the easy route unintentionally lol

I have played through NV several times now but for some reason never touched the DLC areas. Just wrapping this one up and wanted to see what I might have missed.
Is the War Club also unique to to this DLC? Follows-Chalk just gave me one after reuniting the bighorners.
Never knew about the armor, pretty cool it was the only one that doesn’t make you NCR affiliated. Only item I missed out of honest hearts so I’m impressed with myself
when you go to the red gate for the survivalist ' s rifle be careful because a giant cazador is very close and yes it's name is literally giant cazador
Lacey Belt there wasnt any giant cazador and im lvl 42 and giant cazadores arent so special, they are just harder to kill

Although not bad, I think every other dlc is vastly superior. They're all MUCH longer, have more to explore, and better items.
Aside from maybe dead money, since it's much more of a survival horror/heist story, I'd say it depends on the player. I love it, but I have to be in the mood for it.
Dead Money is definitely better imo has debatably the best companions in NV and even all of Fallout, has one of the best Villains (he doesn’t have to be a villain if you team up with Elijah), and the Sierra Madres story is just great. (I enjoy Honest Hearts more though tbh Dead Money is fucking annoying)

I know this video is years old at this point. But I went to the Red Gate and I didn't find The Survivalist Rifle. On my previous playthrough I got it off the hands of a White Leg.

and it is to attempt to survive sloan (I forgot the name of the deathclaw place)
and only use the shes embrace and use desert ranger armor only
oh and I think salt upon wounds had a laser pistol somwhere

Raiderous I took out all the deathclaws with just an incinerator at lvl 15. Took me like 10 deaths to find a spot they can't get you from XD which is the diagonal beams on the sides, the thinner ones. Also how do you get the viable deathclaw egg mod? That's the only reason I did it
The crane and a rock at the entrance can make it so the death laws can’t harm you

For a crit based character, doing HH as soon as possible to get Joshua's Armor and SUW's Helmet is not a bad idea.

You missed a unique Pancor Jackhammer. Its called Neostead. Its carried by a white leg if you side with joshua near The Bend Bridge.

A weapon that is missed my many is the cattle prob located north east from the general goods store, you’ll need to unlock a hard lockpick skill check at Ranger Station Osprey to find the weapon
I haven't seen this in the comments So I want to go ahead and say it here Disclaimer this might not be a unique armor piece.
- It's The Park ranger hat It has DT +1 it's a light armor piece and it gives you survival + 5, per + 1, I found it at Ranger Substation Osprey.

Just found the Survivalist Rifle out of the blue (thank you Explorer Perk), and left some broc flowers at his grave.
Switched my remnants power armor with desert ranger armor
I think the Vault 22 jumpsuit is unique and you can find it on some guy at the Northern Passage, I think his name is Ricky or something along those lines, also he's a chem addict and the only other person there with a pip-boy 3000.
Well you get a lot from vault 22 and there is a cave in Honest Hearts that has a few vault 22 Suits

I haven't played any of the DLC's yet but from what I hear about all of them I think Honest Hearts would be my favourite. Zion looks nice and colourful with the other DLC's being darker and grittier; it's just my taste is all. What about you? yes you that person who is looking at this old video reading this right now. Holy shit man your lucky. It IS the best sniper rifle for damage. But it sacrifices fire rate for damage. So if you miss it's like a 1 to 2 second bolt back. If you want good damage and good fire rate get the gobi campaign rifle.
Well im level 27 so i have the Gobi but gave it to Boone. Plus i have like LOADS of ammo for my AMR and rate of fire doesnt really bother me anyway.

uh so a white legs storm-drummer had the survivalists rifle for some reason. idk if he picked it up before battling me but uhh thought that was kinda weird.

@@solar_bionic115 check for any enemies around the area of the weapon. They Shouldnt be far. I do not remember exactly where i found the enemies but it was southwest of the actual weapon spawn point for me. They can spawn in other areas tho
Some prick white leg had my survivalist rifle along with an anti material rifle. I now have a full condition anti material rifle, brush gun and a few other cool guns

if you leave and come back to look for it, it won't be in the duffle bag when you go back to zion. That's what happened to me on my first playthrough
+xavier valdez I can't find it either. I never left Zion though...
if it wasn't in the trunk and you never left zion valley then that means that a whitelegs probably picked it up and ran off with it, you may have even killed him but overlooked him. That's why I made sure to go and pick it up during the main story the second time around
First thing I do when I arrive in Zion, is go to that place and get the rifle when there's like no enemies spawned yet.

I beat OLD WORLD BLUES first from level 3 going in. Came out level 21 like a BOSS. Thought about starting HH dlc but I’m goin do some story quests first. Being locked in the Big MT til you beat it is ughhh! When you beat it all thou, you can level up so much!! The toaster! The heat fist!!! I made and sold so much to become RICH!!
