It's a circus act, that's it. Will he be able to do gymnastics in his 40's ? Martial connotation is Military, Combat, close quarter hand to hand combat, not gymnastics .
@@JohnDoe-q5n the fact you are judging off one performance clearly indicates you don't know anything about him because his traditional kata is even better. Troll lol
Critique isnt a bad thing if its meant to help. I dont do XMA but i somewhat respect and i have been doing basic kicks and punchs and he sacrifice that sponning hook kick and a few other techniques for speed and showmanship. ( Its like a full course meal and you say my appetizer and dessrt may not be good but the main course is so good you will overlook my appetizer and dessert) The goal is to win so i guest its all good.
This isn’t traditional where you have to show control on the hook kicks. In the xma version you go for speed so your critique although somewhat legit it’s out of place
@@erickgomez7545 Not a excuse in my book personally. Just throwing a technique to perform is ok, is that what you are saying is ok when it comes to extreme forms.
I dont get it, you can do 5 flips in a row spin in the air 3x times but you got a shabby spinning hook and front kick. I warched to be entertain and i was but i expected better basics
yea, the spin hooks were a little weird. but some folks (especially the younger tricksters) really enjoy drilling the flashy stuff more than basics. And unfortunately, that's what wins competition a lot of times.
I love people wanna be critics yet can't do a fraction of what he has done. Mason is a complete martial artist. The guy can do it

Also I seen Mason traditional from and it’s pretty good. I done think it’s a lack of him not knowing how to do it

what part of the front and hooks were shabby? genuinely curious as they look fine to me

Check out his traditional forms (if you’re looking for true basics) as well. He performs in different kata divisions and styles.
