For anyone interested. He hasn't uploaded since January but on a Facebook post comment, he said that he is fine, just super busy and that the basement where he works has turned into storage due to some renovations.( This was posted 15 weeks ago )
Miss your videos. Not sure if you retired from UA-cam or are just taking a break, but I just wanted to let you know that your work is really appreciated. Thank you so much for all the content you made. You've helped me save many games and consoles.
Just subbed today after finding this channel this week. Already fixed two Gameboy DMGs and a capacitor in a Snes starfox cartridge. Recapping a game gear next week. It looks like you’ve chosen to take a break from UA-cam. I respect your choice to prioritize other things in life, and I wanted to reach out and say thanks for the content you created. If you return, we will all be happy to join you on your retro repair journey. If you chose not to, well that’s ok too...sometimes life takes us on a new chapter. Each console I fix I imagine playing with my daughter who isn’t old enough yet but will be in a few short years. Thanks for everything friend!
The entire system (with cables and controller) costs about the same as the case by itself. Looking at around $600 for the complete system and another $400-$500 for the case. Plus the games. Someone call the police, I'd like to report a robbery.
@@ArenClegg There's no way you're going to get the console AND all of those games in those condition for under $300. That Jackie Chan game recently sold on eBay for $300 by itself, and that's without the outer cardboard box.
I know the youtube life must be insane and toxic comments tend to happen on here, but just know you are one of my main inspirations for trying to teach myself electronics and repair! Your videos mean a lot to me and I am super grateful to have them around , especially now during this pandemic. Thank you so much for these videos, they really make my days better.
Just realized that it's been a long time since you've uploaded, and I see from the comments that I'm not the only one. Really love your content, and as others have said, I hope you're just taking a break. Your videos are therapeutic to me, I can't tell you how many days of work during the lockdown your stuff kept me company while working from home.
Can confirm, that carrying case came with the CD-ROM attachment. I had (have) the TG-16 with that attachment. Imagine my surprise when I bought it (it was $400) and it came in a HUGE box. This was primarily because of that case.
Hey man, its unrelated to the video but I wanted to just say I've been watching your stuff for a while now and you've really inspired me to do repair and maintenance of old games and consoles for myself. I got my first soldering iron of my own today, my only prior experience with soldering is a small IPS mod I did for a GBA with an iron I borrowed. Though I did something wrong and the right shoulder button doesnt work now, so I'm still a novice, but I'm in good spirits and I think once I get my soldering station set up I can fix whatever went wrong, please keep up your amazing content of retro repairing.
Just wow! Amazing find, glad the lady gave you the option to match the offer since you were first. Not many people even bother to ask or worse, start a bidding war. I would have thought the same with the games haha but still an awesome lot for 100. Can't wait for the follow up video.
Agreed. The dad who i talked to when i showed up was just happy that i came asap. He said the $40 person said they'd need to find a ride. Having sold a lot myself, I'll sell to the first to show up with cash, not the first to say they want it but keep delaying pickup.
Great find! I remember when I started watching you around 3 years ago. I was going often to pick up my fiance from therapy session, and often had some time to spare. This is when I watched majority of your stuff. And now my fiance is with another guy. Time flies and everything changes. Good to be here again!
Wow! Congrats on a great deal! I thought I got a good deal on my PCE Suitcase at $150. I had it repaired and I sold my TG-16, and came out ahead. From what I've seen the set-up that you have may go for More than $1,000 for the lot (edit: hardware)! I'd say we both did well, even though we went different directions. My other good pick up last year was a Magnavox Odyssey 2 in the box for 25 bucks! Life is good. Great video. This gets very confusing for people unfamiliar with this setup. This will help viewers make an informed purchase.
MY MOTHER(RIP) BOUGHT ME AND MY BROTHER THIS SYSTEM( DIDN'T KNOWN THE CD ATTACHMENT EXISTED SO WE DID NOT HAVE IT PLUS IT WAS $300) FROM TOYS R US THE DAY BEFORE EASTER IN 1992. WE AND GOTTEN SUPER NINTENDO FOR CHRISTMAS 1991 SO WE HAD HIGH EXPECTATIONS FOR THE TURBO GRAFX 16 GAMES. KEITH COURAGE CAME WITH THE SYSTEM AND WE HAD LIKE 2 OR 3 OTHER GAMES I THINK WE HAD SPLATERHOUSE AND A SPORTS GAME BUT NOT BONKS ADVENTURE. THE GAMES WERE SO BORING ME AND MY BROTHER PLAYED IT FOR A HOUR AND NEVER PLAYED IT AGAIN SO MOM KEPT IT FOR HERSELF BUT AT LEAST WE CAN SAY WE HAD TURBO GRAFX 16!!
What a haul! I'm kicking myself, in 2008 I found a pristine turbografx at valuevillage with several games but left it behind as I had no idea what it was and had no money as a university student. oh well.
Very nice pickup. Glad this stuff gets a good home. I very seldom see Turbografx games in the wild like that so who knows when I'll find some more stuff to add to my TG16 collection.
You stumbled upon treasure there sir! I love the TG-16 and CD-Rom and will never sell mine - lots of nostalgia with this system. Awesome find my man! FYI - on Facebook you can lookup Sparky Labels - he does amazing work in TG-16 game labels; ships fast and sells quality products at cheap prices. Jackie Chan in the box sold for $349.00 on ebay November 30th. Neutopia 2 MANUAL sold for $89.00 by itself...great game. Raiden sold for $316.00 with the box on ebay Dec. 20th. Killer Deal!
Awesome find! Love your videos, thanks for making so much amazing content! Can't wait for the next one. Turbo Grafx 16 is a great console. Can't wait to find one complete myself. Keep up the great work. ^_^
What a score, congrats man. The early CD systems like TG CD and Sega CD are so cool, if only we had gotten a CDROM for the SNES T_T but hey we did eventually get the PlayStation instead so there's that
Wow, I got my TG16 yesterday. Quite a coincidence! Mine’s the less common PAL (Europe) release. Pretty awesome haul mate! I’m damn surprised you managed to score THAT well. The luck is absolutely incredible!
I got a TG16 when I was like 11, which would have been around 1992... mine came with Keith Courage included, and that is a WEIRD game, but VERY fun! Mine didn't come with any kind of carrying case, but I also never got the CD add on because it was crazy expensive lol! I would say you definitely got way more than your moneys worth from that purchase!
My first experience with TG16 was with the Express at a Toys R Us kiosk. It had Bonks Adventure. But being a dumb kid, I thought it was the Atari Lynx lol
Wow just WOW Even at the time you picked that up the whole kit $100CAD that's a steel, fantastic set for a rarer console during the 16bit console war era.
Nice piece of kit you got there, congrats! Oh and it's not ultraviolet, it's infrared, the same trick works with "TV" remotes as well (most of the time).
Been super busy this year, but I'm hoping to this winter. Canadian borders open up in December so I'll be able to pick up all my packages sitting there for me
So good. Careful with removing the controller from the console. The end of the plug on the controller is just glued in and the glue isn't so good after 30 yrs. I'm sorta hoping it doesn't fire right up its a bit more fun when there's a small issue.
$45.95 in 1993 equivalent is $82.75!, while $74.95 in 1993 equivalent is a whopping $134.98 today! You're right: people nowadays should be happy AAA-games nowadays cost at most $60 (some outliers here and there, but $60 is the rule, not the exception).
I knew of one person only who had one, a cousin,... but only had the base unit that same cousin was the only person I knew with a original Xbox he bought new when they first came out I thought that was so cool )I later bought one)
Great find Adam! Any chance you know of places that sell custom SNES console shells? Having a hell of a time finding one and I'm wanting to get a clean one to fix up my girlfriends. Already recapped the board and fixed the controller ports just wanting to get a shell that's not brittle and missing chunks.
That case looks like rental case. One of those that store give you if you rent a system. I saw same one for Atari Jaguar and hell... that EXPENSIVE and rare shit)

you easily got $2000+ usd in stuff there. thats absolutely insane. an instant collection for a steal. congrats dude!

And he was bummed that he had to pay an extra $50 for the case and games...
@@AdamMontgomery1 I feel like this is going to end up being a Dateline NBC murder mystery someday.
nah.. it's no $2000+ usd. You can buy that same setup on ebay for like $150-$300. If he got all that for under $300 it's a super good deal.

Really wish I kept things when I was younger. Being older now, I have a appreciation for this old tech.
Fun Fact: The cd rom unit was actually usable on its own as a portable CD Player.
True! I did this for a while. It was my only CD player at the time!
I can hear the hype in your voice for this one, nice pickup.
Another crazy pickup! Yes that case came with the CD-ROM attachment.
Crazy this guy got a TG-16 haul for only $100. Man I miss these kinds of deals.

Reminds me of high school...

Also, Legendary Axe is a great game. Don't play Legendary Axe II however unless you like Rastan more than Legendary Axe. :)
Hm. Maybe it’s a special set? I mean I saw cd-roms in “small” boxes.

It was definitely NOT called PC Engine in the US. I think it was called that in Japan.
This is correct.
Yikes. that's what I meant. Not the U.S. Misspoke there. We get all the same stuff in Canada as the U.S. in terms of naming/regional differences, etc.

please do more vids dude you are the best channel!

Hi Adam,
Are you going to be doing any ore yet video's?
What model of Samsung tv is that good sir?
Turbografx cd unit, i think you need to replace the capacitors to make it work 🤔
laser is probably fine. cd drive needs a new gear for the lens motor if the lens is stuck. You got a crazy deal with all those games you got.
Prices here in the us are about to go up for electronics too
Where have you gone?
Nice video👍
This was our first console growing up, before we had an nes. I still have the turbo express. Though the screen doesn't work.
Also that case was designed for the cd. The regular console had its own case.
NES after TG16? That actually a downgrade )
@@bubsy3861 it was. But the turbo broke

It was called PC Engine only in Japan. TG16 everywhere else.
Should try to get ahold of a TurboExpress. Those are awesome.
Yeah, i realize now i said US, that was just misspoken, pc engine in japan
Great deal, but then expecting more from them later for free.....hmmm
Yeah, he sounded a bit greedy there.
99% busted middle pinion gear for the drive motor, replace the caps while you have it open. Re-cap kit and gear should only run you like 15 bucks
I knew of one person only who had one, a cousin,... but only had the base unit that same cousin was the only person I knew with a original Xbox he bought new when they first came out I thought that was so cool )I later bought one)

600 usd up to 1000 in same condition. XD

Dude you alive and ok? Miss ur videos Hope your ok haven’t seen a new video in months that ok just hoping your good k…I’m bing watching ur videos until I pass out lol
I've only heard about the cd add on. I've never a irl one
CD lasers are infrared, not ultraviolet 😊 Since you weren’t sure.
Over 1000 in games alone, system with CD unit prob another 500 holy heck man.
Love the videos!
Dude! Where are you?
