I’m a huge fan of goat particularly because of their new with defects option. I’ve gotten some gorgeous brand new shoes with some minor factory mistakes (minor sole discoloration, production scuffs, missing laces, etc.)for half their normal price or less. So as someone who buys my shoes to wear instead of resell or collect without wearing, it’s really handy.

I agree that GOAT is vey reliable for buying and selling, I buy and sell all my shoes on there. But idk if eBay will become the most popular, yes it will become better but I still think a lot of people will have the prejudice that eBay is still unreliable because of its old reputation.

Another pro your forgot to mention about GOAT is you can sell your shoes with defects unlike stock x

I’d love to buy from GOAT but in Europe every single shoe has a 40€ shipping fee which is insane.

Honestly I really trust goat, if there’s any issues with the shoes that weren’t mentioned such as the Jordan 3 unite reds I just got had a small scuff that I cleaned off, they immediately let you know and allow you to either get another pair or keep those at a discounted price, and I really like that they take care of their customers like that

Havent had any issues with GOAT. Beware of StockX. They "Certified" shoes to me recently, but they were fakes. They also don't want to refund their mistake.

Bought over 30 pairs from stock x last year. All of which were $500-$2500 range. I see a lot of comments like this so I always LC like crazy right when the shoes arrive. Never once had an issue though, knock on wood.

I had the EXACT same issue wit Goat though. It was like my 3rd time buying from them n the shoes I ordered weren’t the same from what I got. I ask for a refund n the refused till a week later when they told me I was to get a refund, but since they claimed they were verified (which they weren’t) I wasn’t able to get a full refund. Since I wasn’t able to get that shoe I jus tried to order another shoe from GOAT, since I thought the issue I had wouldn’t happen again. I ordered sum air max 97 all white. When I got the sneaker they came supper yellow. That’s when I learned I got scammed once again. I even bought them brand new. This time I was able to get a full refund, but from that day, I refuse to use GOAT every again.
Man as an ebay seller, I always sent the shoes literally the same day or the next day if it’s too late but it still took usps almost 2 weeks to arrived at buyers’ house😂😂😂

ive bought multiple pairs from ebay and all of them have been legit. they have good pricing if you can find it and it usually comes pretty fast. i prefer ebay over all the other services tbh

Bruh I ordered Jordan’s 4 Red-fire from Stock X, then a week later I ordered from Goat and the shoes from Goat are being shipped already to me. Stock X is taking their sweet TIME.

Yup I got a pair of sail off white Jordan 5's off eBay and received a pair of unc 3's in the same size but I contacted them and they refunded me in 3 days and I got to keep my unc's for free

GOAT in my experience has been much faster with deliveries and their way of displaying tracking is more comforting than the one StockX uses
Another really positive Pro for GOAT is they also allow you to sell sneakers with defects. This really saved me when I got Travis Scott 6’s from the SNKRS release with factory paint flaws. I emailed StockX and they said no.

I’ll like goat over stock x. I had issue with them sending a shoes that a had manufacturer glue all over it and they returned, refunded and gave me $25 goat credit which is amazing service. Stock x customer service sucks by the way if you have a issue.
Yea but not everyone gets the same customer service, its kinda 50/50. A lot of people prefer stockx bc they've had problems on goat and have never had one on stockx
facts- i tried to sell some jordan come fly with me's on stockX, and the app kept glitching and wouldn't let me view or print my shipping label.
I bought a shoe of stocks and it also had manufacturing glue on a spot ( luckily on a spot you can’t really see). The fist time I mailed them they said it is manufacturing flaw and that they can’t do anything.
The second time I mailed them they barely gave me a 20$ discount which by the way is only the shipping cost on stockx.
I bet the reason why you got instant ship for goat without paying for it was because they were bought around Christmas so they probably had a lot of them on the shelves for the holidays
I’ve used all 3 and StockX has come through more times then not. Prices are crazy but all my shoes have come in a decent amount of time. I’ve been waiting 2 weeks for eBay and only thing I really like with them is the tracking. A lot of updates which I liked. I’ve only won 1 bid from GOAT and they refunded my money once a seller accepted my bid and didn’t send the shoes. They “tried” to find another seller but no luck. Hoped on StockX and my bid was accepted a day later. Shoe showed up 7 business days later.
Depends who u buy from on EBay. If you find a really good seller who delivers on time, then EBay can outshine StockX

If you’re European based like myself a better option in my opinion is KLEKT, a sneaker marketplace which works exactly the same as the others and you avoid import charges
You're forgetting some very important factors (which I mostly understand because you live in the USA).
*StockX*
Pro:
Has warehouses in more places around the world so additional taxes and tariffs can be avoided. No nasty additional costs.
Con:
The website is not the most performant and doesn't work that well all the time.
The profit margins are kind of obscene, they take a very large cut per transaction.
*GOAT:*
Con:
Does not have the amount of Global reach StockX has, making buying from GOAT insanely expensive if you're in Europe for example.
GOAT's website is clean and quick, but is also missing a lot of important information in terms of your past purchases and sales.
*eBay:*
Con:
Sneaker authentication service is USA-only (for now).
Finding shoes is annoyingly limited at times, especially regional variants (E.g. not being able to search for shoes based on your own size, limited/wrong information, etc.)
StockX: Often Overpriced
Goat: Probably the best
eBay: Test your luck with scams
stockx is cheapest
Goat is typically more expensive in all aspects

I love GOAT and honestly I usually find them to be cheapest compared to StockX. But generally they are my go-to. The app is killer too just in terms of design.

i use stockx but i lowkey wanna move to ebay cuz it’s just so much cheaper and i can legit check the shoes just by watching youtube videos and if they turn out fake i can just return them cuz they always accept returns i always be shopping on ebay jus never for shoes. and goat kinda scares me after i seen this one youtuber talk about how he sent his unreleased lost and founds and goat stole his shoes and sent him a fake pair talking bout “they didn’t pass the authentication check” even tho he had before and after pictures of his shoes vs the ones they sent him “back” and they didn’t wanna help him at all when he talked to customer service. Stockx too expensive i just bought some shoes and they were $226, but plus the $21.94 sales tax + $11.33 processing fee + $14.95 shipping that shi added up to $274.19 almost $300. They also got rid of their “guaranteed authentic” claim and won’t let you return shoes, only sell them back, which leads to the next buyer getting fakes. so yea imma go wit ebay.

I prefer stock X, all my shoes have come within 2 weeks and boxes came in perfect condition as well. From Off whites to friends and family pairs my own Personal experiences have been more than great !

GOAT has a very minor penalty for seller cancellation. So if there is a price increase of a shoe after you bought but before the seller ships, expect it to get cancelled. Stockx at least charges the 15% of the sale price for cancellation.
Goat has always been my top. I’ve ordered 4 pairs from them and they came on time, with perfect condition boxes. Stockx as much as I want to like em, have screwed me over twice, they’ve sent me shoes with crooked stitching even though they supposedly don’t allow defects and they sent me a box with a huge rip on it. Plus with that processing fee they’re just money hungry at this point.

I bought a pair of Reebok Kamikaze Ii off from eBay. The price was really good but the shipping took 14 days. Second bummer was you can-not return so make sure you know your correct size in whatever shoe your looking for. Some seller offer returns but most don't.The minute you unlace the shoe and try it on it's yours. It's no longer brand new so unless the shoe is defective you can-not return it.

I’m a stock X guy and a lot of my shoes come from over seas via DHL. I love it tbh. Seems to get to me quicker than in state tbh.
Goat is fine when it comes with new sneakers, but I would not recommend buying used sneakers on there, sellers may or may not tell you everything and goat customer service don't give a f after they shipped the shoe to you, had that happened to me and never went back buying from goat

I've had greater experiences with GOAT, they have amazing deals sometimes even when it's not black Friday and an amazing selection and I've never have had a problem with their delivery quality
So far never had any problems with Stock X as far as buying. Don't know about selling shoes, since I'm not in the resell game. However Goat fucked up on me once before. Sent me the wrong shoe. Wasn't even the same show I ordered and wasn't even my size! So I've been a little hesitant about ordering from them again. Ordered my first pair of shoes off Ebay and they're supposed to get here Jan. 6th. So I'll see how these go.

Just ordered some Chicago’s from goat, watching you open these sneakers made me so hyped for when mine arrive
i've had 28 orders with GOAT for all new shoes. Seven of those orders were unsuccessful. Four of the bad orders were GOATs fault, they sent me DS shoes with flaws like small tears in leather, stains on the white soles, missing accessories, and paint chipping. The other three orders were cancelled. So 21/28 for GOAT. With STOCKX, I have 9 completed orders so far and 5 pending. None have been canceled and none have had flaws when they arrived. so far so good. in total, I've spent close to $17,000 among both companies and I am very pleased.
oh yeah, ebay has delivered me five or six pairs too. i like ebay a little better since you can communicate with the seller and ask for photos.
You should do this same exact thing to find out which is best for selling sneakers as well.

I ordered some 11 lows that just came out through GOAT. Damaged box saved me about $15 and scheduled to arrive tomorrow 6 days on the money 😂 I’ll probably use goat the most but I’ll give eBay a peep every now and then

My first GOAT experience was a failure so I'm never going back to them. I ordered the Retro 6 blk/infrared and there were flaws with the shoe size 11, the paper inside and the soles on the shoes didn't have the icy blue look. GOAT did not answer my specific questions so I ended up getting my money back. I probably won't go through StockX. However, I was able to get the Retro 11 Cap and Gowns off of eBay and had NO issues!

i ordered a pair of Yeezy 350 from GOAT back in 2019, it came from Japan and it even got the adidas tags in Japanese writing and everything. Crazy that it is doing business internationally.
The only thing I don’t like about places like Goat is when you’re buying a new shoe you don’t get to see any pictures of it before you buy it. With the amount of shoes these companies make there are bound to be some pairs with flaws so it would be nice to get to inspect some pictures of the shoes like you can on eBay. I know a lot of people don’t like using eBay cause they’re scared of getting a fake but if you use a little common sense and know what you’re looking for it’s not a problem especially with this new service they have and the buyers protection through eBay and PayPal. I used there new service for legit check the shoes and I got my pair in less than a week so the shipping time wasn’t to bad and they send you alerts through the entire process to let you know where your shoes are.

I've bought 33 shoes off Stock X as of today and they seem legit. But Stock X did send me the wrong size once out those 33 times.
With the situations being almost identical (shoe model, price, shipping destination etc.), I would focus more on the return policies. I got a defective pair on stockx and they refused to issue a refund because they stated that defective doesn't mean fake. As long as Nike sells them, they pass the 'authentication'.
I haven't had any issues with GOAT (fingercrossed) yet but I know GOAT is generally known for a more well-planned authenticating process than stockx.
Another thing, to me, what differs GOAT from stockx is the buyers' intention. Personally if I pick stockx I put down a bid and wait for somebody to take it because of their sales transparency. On the other hand if I pick GOAT I kind of know how much I am willing to spend most. It would be my decision on whether to buy on GOAT or not, where stockx is like the seller would determine whether to sell or not.
I guess at the end of the day whichever fits your intention the most is your best option.

As a Canadian sneaker head, I can really only buy off StockX and eBay, although my experiences with StockX makes worth the while and for me to say StockX is my shoe plug😂
Facts I fw StockX cause of the pay in 4 through PayPal instead of paying outright I can pay $100 every 2 weeks 4 times for $400 pair of shoes, really convenient.
