NO "super star big ego" draft. Wemby is the leader, he doesn't need a player with an ego 10 times bigger his talent. This team needs a young humble talented player or nobody at all.

@@trashtalknbaThe best fit would be an offensive superstar who can score and pass at a high level, and if he’s a pg i don’t care if he’s a defensive liability but if it’s a wing or PF he has to be at least average because Cp3 and Tre Jones are bad defenders at this point. So the ideal pg would be Doncic, 1st because Wemby doesn’t have good stamina so a guy who can control the pace of a game and almost always have his team play at one of the slowest pace in the league would be perfect, and because Wemby is the best off ball big in the league he doesn’t need the ball to dominate, he can screen and roll, he’s the best lob treat/vertical spacer in the league and he can also pop for a 3 or midrange shot while Doncic is the best pick and roll ball handler in the league .. And because of his lob treat, shooting ability and size Wemby already has the strongest gravity in the league, so Luka will have all the space to penetrate into the defense for a lay up, a floater, a midrange shot or a lob for Wemby, and Luka is also a big body, 6’7 240~pounds, he can set screen for Wemby and play inverted pick and roll, and because Wemby can pass over the defense and Luka can finish in the paint in so many ways it would be impossible to stop them … So offensively it’s a perfect fit, and defensively Wemby will be there to clean Doncic mistakes, so that’s a perfect fit.
But basically any superstar would fit next to Wemby, he’s like KAT with AD’s defense and Porzingis size, or a 7’4 KD, and these 4 players score extremely well in portability (Ability to fit with any players), he’s like Jokic you could put Westbrook (a non shooter and floor spacer who struggle to make lay up) on his team and he would look better than in his last 3-4 seasons.
So among the stars who are actually available, i think Fox would probably be the best fit and he’s just 27, just imagine all the transition opportunities he would get with Wemby’s blocks/Steals and rim deterrence, 90% of the time Wemby block a shot he keep the ball inbound or better, he keep the possession of the ball, and Fox is an elite slasher/rim finisher who can penetrate into the defenses easily with his speed, and a good passer so he could get easy opportunities for Wemby around the freethrow line, just like Maxey with Embiid and because he is an elite freethrow shooter like Embiid he will also be an elite midrange shooter.
Or Trae Young, it would be a similar fit as the one with Doncic, i think they should have made that trade this summer when he was available and his price was low.
Or Markannen, a 7ft athletic MPJ, he would be perfect as a PF or SF next to Wemby, and he’s also 27 and his price isn’t that high, i rather have him than Cam Johnson
Lebron would also be insane with Wemby, but he’s too old and want to finish his career in LA, same for Curry, Giannis, AD, SGA, Ja, Haliburton, Brunson, Garland, Mitchell, Bam, Draymond, Mobley, KD, Ingram .. He literally fit with every players .. I just hope the SUNS, Warriors, Pelicans, Kings, Jazz, Hawks or Sixers implode and start a rebuild, and for Zion, he would also be the perfect fit next to Wemby but he’s 24 already injury prone and lazy, and i don’t think it would change with the Spurs but if he was the 27ppg on 61%fg version of Zion then the league would be in trouble they are basically the 2 most freakish athlete with Giannis

Two things can be true. Yes, Victor W is incredible and is a freak talent in the NBA who is putting up crazy numbers. Also true: Vic makes a ton of mistakes and is really raw. He turns the ball over ALOT. He shoots way too many threes and even though he is the tallest guy on the court, he often gets bullied because he is still too skinny and young so he prefers to just launch awful 3s. He has no inside game despite his height. In the playoffs, when you just need a consistent offense the gets you a bucket, Vic would be awful. He would just dribble and turn the ball over or shoot a god awful 3. He knows when he sucks. But I have faith that he will develop into a beast. He and the Spurs are a work in progress.

Wemby is completely on board with the Spurs plan. It would not have mattered which team drafted him. Any team, to be in the NBA draft lottery had to be pretty bad, meaning its roster was not ready to propel a potential superstar into championship contention in the first few years. You don't drop that low unless you're pretty bad, although the Spurs tanked with all of their might. The Spurs are right on track. They will not do anything foolish. They know how to surround a superstar with sufficient talent and complementary players to win multiple championships and they will do it again with Wemby! In this regard, Spurs fans are more impatient than Wemby is! Go Spurs go!

Castle needs more time to develope but next year I see a big leap and already do so much on both side of the ball. Castle is a two way beast, rookie guards always have bad percentage splits and he’s playing behind one of the best PG all time, next year your eyes will open if you pay attention. Vassell averaged 20, 4, 4 on 47% FG 80% FT 37% from three and majorly improved his defense all at age 23. He’s also coming back from injury this year and just got reintroduced to the starting lineup. Even if he is a “role player”. He’s a very good one and if you’re talking about spurs future, he’s involved in that discussion where you like him or not.

While I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the content of this video, there's a bunch of misinformation in here from a Spurs standpoint as someone who really keeps a pulse on Spurs news, especially from their insiders like LJ Ellis, Ty Jaeger, Jordan Howenstine, Tom Petrini, Jeff McDonald, Don Harris, etc. The Spurs were never planning to go into the summer of 26-27 with 3 contracts -- they love Sochan and are definitely planning to sign him longterm and of course, the cap holds on their draft picks, of which they have many. While I agree there was some internal discussions on whether to flip HB, they actually never intended to flip CP3 because Pop really wanted Chris and Brian Wright and Co. extended him CP3 offer on Pop's behalf, never really expecting CP3 to say yes -- until he did, surprising not only the Spurs, but everyone in the NBA. Once CP3 committed, the plan is for him to be in SA the whole year; CP3 isn't leaving this year unless he asks out himself. Long as the Spurs are winning a reasonable amount of games, that's not going to happen.
So while I agree with some of the premise of this video, the slow roll, they weren't going to making any big FA splashes; the idea was always to have flexibility to bring in a co-star salary if he actually became available, which is why they had their eye on Markkannen (and still do) if he ever decides to leave and most certainly have their eye on Fox, should he become genuinely available. We shall see.

Any 1-14 draft pick is a shot at getting a top 4 pick. Chicago's pick won't get them there but may drop 10-12... Wonder what they could get for Paul, Barnes, Jones.... Q: Your precise weight is 106kg (~235lbs) [now], and -11kg (i.e. 95kg or ~210lbs) [when arriving in the NBA].
Wemby: When I arrived in the NBA? Impossible. The 95kgs (210lbs), I weighted that at ASVEL (2021-22). The highest weight I had at ASVEL must have been 94kg (207lbs). [We try to aim] between 1 and 5% per 12 months.
Q: How do you work [on your weight training] in a way that doesn't negatively impact your mobility, playstyle, or shooting?
Wemby: So you kinda already have the answer, but I don't struggle to gain weight. During the summer with time to work, it's possible that I gain too much weight. So it's a lot of physical training, but here, it's not at all our style to work with exercises that simply put weight on the body without also working on mobility. It's rather simply developing in an organic/natural way.
