This game blew me away with its graphics and music when it came out in 1994, and it still looks absolutely beautiful today. My favorite stage was always the Ice Cap Zone, closely followed by Lava Reef.
In my opinion, especially when linked with sonic and knuckles, the greatest sonic saga of them all. You had to be there to truly know that feeling. The music, redesigned sprites, sonic the comic playing out the storyline, the 90’sness....
It's good especially when you plug sonic 3 because I feel like I am then playing the entire game. Look how long sonic 2 is. Yes I've beaten all sonic games. My favorite is sonic 3+sonic and knuckles just because of that feature.

I read somewhere that they were originally going to put in the instruction manual how to press up/down to get those barrels to move but that text was left out. Couldn't figure it out for the life of me until I read it in a game magazine how to do it lol

This game is perhaps the best introduction to gaming a person could ever have. It basically can and will open the doors of gaming to a non-gamer.

@SoulReaperSlayer19 sonic 3 goes in it very well and Sonic 2 will be with only knuckles. Sonic 1 plays all those stages. That's how it all works.
