Anchorage Social Dance club Anchorage, AK BTW- you taught my husband and I to dance starting 20 years ago in Louisville! Too fun to see a familiar face as we practice at home.
Love your videos. Places to country dance in Denver Colorado: Grizzly Rose in Denver - Huge dance floor, live band every night (open Wed-Sun). Stampede in Aurora - Huge dance floor (now that they finally took out big bar in the middle!), country dancing only on Wednesday nights w lots of advanced (and beginner) swing dancers and line dancers. 60 miles south in Colo Springs: Whiskey Baron, Cowboys, Copperhead Road.
Thanks for being here and for the suggestions! We'll be doing workshops in Denver on August 6th and Colorado Springs on August 8th :-) Not sure where we'll end up those nights, but we'll look into those.
Best Country dance hall in Texas I Texas Nite Life in Wichita Falls Texas open Friday & Saturday night with Live Country Band featuring Race Rutledge and the Texas Nites every Saturday.
I live in Kodiak, Alaska and we have an active Country dance community. We meet each Thursday at Tony's bar for line dancing and two step as well as a dance studio twice a month for Swing, Latin and Country dancing. Come visit us!!!
Ha! Yes much nicer here. Your videos are excellent! We have learned several moves. I'm trying to master the Windmill now. It's not easy. Anchorage has a Country Two Step and WCS community was well. Damen D'Amico held a workshop this year which four of us from Kodiak attended.
Thank you for joining us here and the kind words! Damon is a good dancer and teacher. He’s here in Houston also. We’re in the process of choosing workshop locations and dates. We’ve never been to Alaska. Might be a fun adventure.
I'm a bit late to the show on this video, and I know y'all have changed up how you're doing things, but had to throw Bo's Barn Dancehall in Temple if y'all haven't been there. My absolute favorite place.
We did a workshop in DFW not too long ago and went out to Cowboys Red River afterwards (wild place). We're thinking of doing another up there soon and may check out Billy Bobs! Thanks for the suggestion :-)
@@countrydancex You're welcome! To me and my dance group it's so much better then Stampede, and they dance floor always has people but not cramped up like sardines at stampede
Gotta come to Austin. Wild West on Saturday night!!! We've got some rural dance halls too, but for the biggest floor that can handle the crowd Wild West is the choice...
We've talked about making a quick trip over to Austin for a weekend :-) We haven't danced there yet, but have heard that there are some pretty good dancers in Austin!
@@countrydancex we're not good dancers but I try 1 new move a week from your videos and we send all the new dancers we meet to your videos. Truly the best to REALLY learn from. Just watched the tunnel and pretzel and heading out to try it tonight!!
Wow! That's so awesome! We appreciate that so much. And thank you for the kind words and encouragement. We're really having a lot of fun doing these videos and are grateful for the positive feedback :-)
Come to The Stampede in Temecula, California. Very large country dance hall. The floor is about 2500-3000 sq. ft. Has railing around the center of the floor to keep line dancers in the center of the floor and not interfere with couple dancers on the outside edge of the floor.
We were literally just in Temecula for a wedding a few months ago! We will definitely check it out when we’re back out that way. Rose grew up in OC and we visit that area often.
The Stampede in Temecula CA. It has the biggest and best floor in southern CA. The second Friday of the month you have the good dancers come up from San Diego. You will see 2step, WCS, Cha Cha, Waltz, Night club 2 step and ECS.
That’s great, Dennis is a great instructor at the Ballroom and he has some great instructors who teach Salsa Espie Hernandez’s, and Pam Ford who teaches, judges, competes in country and WCS. Let us know what the times and dates are for your workshops. We can get it out to the local dancers.
You're our favorite. Please come to LONG BEACH / ORANGE COUNTY, CA: Cowboy Country in Long Beach, The Ranch in Anaheim, The Starting Gate in Los Alamitos (on Sundays)
What an awesome thing to say! Thank you! You know, Rose grew up in Orange County and we are out that way a couple times a year. We’ll be out there in late July/early August :-)
If you're ever in the D.C. area, stop by Nick's night club in Alexandria VA. It's a combination of line dancing and two step. With the occasional west coast swing thrown in there.
Awesome. Anthony actually does visit DC at least once or twice a year as he has family in that area. Is there a certain night of the week that is better than others?
@@countrydancex They do two step on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday nights. Friday is always crowded. Saturday is hit and miss on it being crowded. Tuesday is more laid-back. I hope this helps.
Love your videos! Both clubs open Friday and Saturday nights. Please advise when coming-would love to meet and thank you in person for the awsome videos and maybe take a private!
Check out all our SoCal peeps! Rose grew up in OC and we have lots of family out that way, so we visit quite a bit. Next time we come, we’re definitely going to take a dance hall tour! Thank you for watching and encouraging words :-)
We hear that a lot from people in different areas. We tell our student all the time how fortunate they are here in Houston. We literally (no exaggeration) have around 40 dance halls where people country dance from one side of the city to the other. Texas is calling your name!
That's actually pretty funny. The "Pretzel" (or hammerlock) is also danced in salsa... as well as mambo, merengue, east coast swing, west coast swing, two step, polka, nightclub two step, hustle, and more. I've also seen it in waltz, foxtrot, cha cha, kuzomba, and jive. lol
Hi there. We generally recommend starting without music and then playing something slow before going full speed. Try “Most people are good” by Luke Bryan
I'm in Boston these days, Loretta's is really the only place to go in the city and they mostly line dance. :-( I'm from SoCal and cowboy country and the Ranch are great places, but again a lot of line dancing. Stampede probably has the best set up for two stepping, but its far, from just about everything.
This could certainly be done in Country Swing. I wouldn’t know how to “describe” it here, but it would essentially be just fit the movements within the structure and rhythm of the dance.
Just started watching your videos, love them! If you are still going around a place to check out in SoCal is at The Ranch Restaurant and Saloon in Anaheim, CA!
You should go to were the two step as you know it was developed. Exclusive Dance Club in Houston Texas in 80's changed how the whole country danced. Some of the top level instructors still come out dancing. Every 2nd Saturday at Stampede is a big gathering of top level country dancers.
