as an owner, i agree on the clutch, you really have to press... the suspension is great, you feel bumps but the ride is not hard... What i don;t like is the low visibility at the back and at the A-pillar and the high maintenance costs and it's prone to electrical problems... all in all, I like the car, sometimes it pisses me off, but I like it
When talking about french cars, the most common issue is electronics. However, in my 10 years driving a 207 GT HDi I've only faced 2 faults from sensors and I fixed both easily, so I'm pretty happy with my car so far. The only downside is that both doors wheigh a ton, and open far too widely, almost at a 45 degree angle. Plus, the door handles on the inside are too short, so if the door is open all the way, not only you have to really stretch out to grasp the handle, when you do finally reach it, you can only get about half a finger deep to grab and pull such a heavy door towards you, so if you suffer from hand sweat, the 3-door version is not suitable for you, especially if you use the doors in steep hills.
Mine is same color, 3 doors. 1.6 120hp. Its a very decent sporty little car with instant response that i just love. Of course it has its quirks but for its price i say its amazing. Just done a bit of modifications, stop lights, headlights and android navigation and it feel like a brand new high tech car
@@archibaldsonwabo9328 i cant say its any different than a normal car. And if itd second hand bought its just either luck or experience. Mine has already 210k on the dash board and only problem had with it was the sparkplug coils which cost me 100 euro

The hdi model is actually quite good. Haven't had any problems other than a alternator. Sometimes the little screen on the interior breaks but it tends to iron itself out by the next day
Thanks, I don't know why mine doesn't have Recaros but previous and first owner was female so maybe she wanted Peugeot to sell her 207 GTI with regular seats. But I will put recaros as soon as I find one on sale near me :)

It's great if you can ignore the "Depollution system faulty" light and have your own OBD reader to do it. Don't buy this car as it's a pain but if you've got spare income it's great to mess around in.
I actually bought a 207 today not a GTI I think it’s had the clutch done recently because the clutch is really light feels like a new car and all the gear changed are smooth no problems at all
Also a thing is to really watch out with bumps on the road... not paying attention got my car a gasleak in the exhaust. I highly recommend to save that money. My shiftknob was stuck in first when i tried to be a bit more quick but the bump was too steep so i eventually i payed over 1500 euros en i still don't trust the car but it didn't have any problems after that

I notice your coolant bottle has a orange/ light brown colour to it, it personally get that looked into if i were you. Mine isn't like that. ps love your 207 videos !
Light brown colour could be mark of the oil radiator/cooler odd bottom sealing, leaking oil into cooling water. Common issue on the thp engines and easy to fix.

The timing chain is a problem, also the Intake valves getting dirty and needs to get granulate, high pressure pump, ignition coil, spark plugs, turbo's will die when the car reaches like 200k km's. Oil leak at the oil filter house, filling 1 liter of oil every 6k km's. But still love the power of the engine when it does not have his problems.

Is that a VTI engine? ( Variable Timing Injection )
Yes, and its direct injection
VTI is the atmospheric version, in the GTI (or RC) it's a THP (turbocharged)
This is old so you’ve probably figured it out the button that you keep pressing just hold it for three seconds.
