I drove for 2 years the i30n Fastback after my Mustang GT - really cool lil Car. Really nice Car for younger People - especially if you into Tuning/Customizing. I was really suprised how well it handled - only downside were limited space for tall People (im 1,90) & the Fact that the Heated Seats were only heated in the middle section (Alcantara) the Boulstering on the Sides (Leather) were untouched ... Especially in Winter a really unpleasend feeling - one side of your Legs were hot while the other side is ice cold. And you need really sticky Tires since FWD with nearly 300HP will loose control very easy on wet and even dry asphalt. It was really the only car were i didnt lost any money - bought it pre Corona - sold it 2023 and didnt dropped one bit. Bought for 26500€ with 13k km - sold for 26000€ with 34k km.

I had to make the same decision as you. In the end, I decided to go for a DCT instead of a manual. I tested both, and I think the manual is more fun to drive. But in the end, I went for the DCT as I use my i30N as a daily driver, and I think it is a lot more convenient. I have had the car for 6 months now, and I don't regret choosing the DCT at all. I like it a lot and can only recommend it.

I am planning to use it as a daily too, but I do most of my driving on a country road, from my hometown to my business, 50km/ 31 miles of road full of twists and turns, ups an downs, almost on a daily basis. I'm sure the DCT is great, but I wanna squeeze every bit of fun I can from this car, so that's why I kinda wanna go with the manual. Still, I'm not entirely sure just HOW much more fun it is, cuz if it is just like a say "5%", then I might aswell go for the DCT. Drive safe!
2020 i30 Fastback N here 👋🏻. The manual does offer a lot more involvement imo, judging from my experience and the video here. The added control and connection to the car are worth it. DCT is faster and easy around town, but it's going to be the future anyway, so enjoy a manual while you can :).
I have a 2020 one. Love this car. I highly recommend getting an I30N if you are looking for a sporty hatchback and don't want to pay a fortune for a GTI or similar.
@kraftgeist Launch control has not been activated. Therefore, accelerating with the brake pressed burns the dual clutch box. In order for it not to burn, it has to be activated and the car does not push when you are accelerating.

I like how you don't just drive the car to its top speed, but also have a little fun in it drifting and taking it round bends
