- A giant cruise ship carrying 3,000 passengers made a dramatic arrival in Cornwall at sunrise. Appearing on the horizon just as the sun was coming up on Monday, July 29, the 952ft Caribbean Princess dropped its anchor off Pendennis Point, before ferrying the passengers to shore for the day.
Custom-built to sail to tropical destinations, the massive cruise ship, which is one of the largest to visit Falmouth this year, is marking a milestone anniversary, completing 20 years of service since its maiden voyage in April 2004. Capable of carrying 3,142 passengers and 1,200 crew, Caribbean Princess was returning to the Cornish port for its third visit so far this year.
