I have a 2010 GTS 300 ie and love it! Great scooty. I have been riding for almost 50 years and have had all kinds of motorcycles big and small. My Vespa is the BEST!
After riding motorcycles since the 1980's, I am starting to fall in love with vespas. If I manage to get one, camping still looks possible after watching this.
Do it! I forget the total weight I'd loaded... I think it was around 45 pounds. I always have my underseat (pet carrier) loaded with my tools, battery booster, inflator, extra layers, so most touring gear (food, clothing, wine, water) was loaded in the floorboard rack, Tent and sleeping bag tied to the seat, and kitchen bag on the front.
A Vespa 300 has the same capabilities as the small cc stuff I rode from the 1970s. I do some touring on my 150 Primavera. Take the same camping gear as I pack on the Electriglide. The perspective from the slow ride is becoming more enjoyable as I get older.
me too.....its so back to the necessary.... you dont need 1200 ccm and a 120 HP.. Period and less payment means more time...not only the bike.. house..car .. vacation...i am changing my life!!! .Time is my new Dollar ❤😂
Greetings from the Southern part of California.👋🏻 I’ve done some scooter camping, it’s a great way to camp. I’d like to ride my Genuine Buddy Kick up to Crescent City and back to Orange County, camping along the way. ✌️
Thanks much @Willa Jabir Enjoy your new or used bike when you find it, and get out there! I love my 300, but you'll have a blast with a 150 or a 300 no doubt.
I like the Roto Pax fuel can under the trunk, was that a fairly straight forward mounting? I have a 2020 GTS Touring and would like to have a bit more range.
Thanks Jim. Although it came out well, designing and fabricating a secure mount that didn't involve drilling or altering my Vespa rack took so much time, and two different trips to my (not so local) salvage yard. It might've been smarter to go ahead and drill through the rack, which might've simplified the design a bunch, and possibly would've required less mass. I'm glad I did it, and the mount is unobtrusive enough that I can leave it in place when not hauling the RotoPax.
This is so incredibly triggering. How horrendous. White wine with steak? How could you?!??! :D haha great vid, eagerly awaiting my colorado relocation for many a vespa-based trip into RMNP/Estes....
Ha ha! Yeah I didn’t plan the food/wine pairing well. I just grabbed things from the fridge. That $5 Italian white wine from Trader Joe’s at least went with the sardines 😅
The only shop I've been to is Revolution Moto in Santa Rosa-for tire mounting. But I do my own service, and do my own tires and wheel balancing now. I have Lola's engine out now, because I'm rebuilding the top end (new piston, cylinder, head, cam and rockers). She'll be on the road soon. Lola's previous owner recommends Rockridge Two Wheels on Shattuck in Oakland. If I need diagnostic help with the ECU I'll take her there.
Yeah, I wish I had an action camera that I could mount, but only have the iPhone. And really I get kind of tired of.watching these videos that are almost all on-bike footage, just with the road ahead in view. I'd rather see the Moto and rider pass by in the shot-unfortunately that requires setup, leaving the camera alone, then backtracking to ride past. I do this sometimes but it's nerve-racking wondering if the camera (iPhone) will be stolen.
Amazing Video. Thank you so much 🛵😎🤠😉👍

Most bikers don't understand how enjoyable it is to ride a Vespa, I have two big bikes and a 2023 GTS 300 and I love my beautiful Vespa overall.

@@REDROX9 - I agree 100% with you. Time is what really matters 😀
I thought I would learn something about the Vespa. Instead I got ever more hungry ; - )
Great clip though.
Outstanding video ol'boy!🤘🏽🔥🔥🔥
It’s great to recognize the area you’re in! I don’t have a scooter yet but that’s a dream of mine as well. Thank you for sharing your trip.
Nice ride great video and editing. Sometimes I wish I still lived in Cali...thanks much !!!
man you remind me about my Vespa scooter, glad to know your channel, cheers!
Well done sir, the camping portion is as well made as the vespa riding video. Really enjoy the soft music and light narration.
Fantastic video! Thanks for sharing you and Lola's adventures. I can't believe it's been almost a year!

Amazing ❤🛵👍😉🤠
Good for you great vlog
Great video!! Ride safe !!
Nice trip. Enjoyed it thoroughly. I'm currently trying to decide between the 300 or the 150. You make it look so enjoyable.

Get the 300! One of the new Racing 60's 300's would be fantastic. Worth every penny!
@@johnharper2016 Thanks. I bought the GTS 300 touring right after posting that.
My 2022 Primavera top speed is 62 mph in perfect conditions. Loaded up 50-55. The 300 is just a faster and a little bigger
@@johnwalshire2884 Thanks. I bought the GTS 300 and the Liberty. Couldn't decide, so bought 'em both!!!
the steak looked good. i have a 300 gts in red. they are great bikes.

Looks like you had it sorted
😍😍
Good video - what Vespa shop do you like best around the SF area?

nice vid... bit solitary.. would have been better with others to share... and more on bike route footage..

Nice
its that a fuel container under your top box?
Yes, a one-gallon RotoPax. I'd carry it on the front rack, but with the bag up there, containing my stove and cooking gear, my headlamp was blocked.
are you packing some heat other than your gas stove? single travelers are a bit more enticing to no goods especially women solo camping.
