- The U.S. Northeast is bracing for a powerful winter storm that is expected to bring snow, ice and strong winds this weekend. CBS News national correspondent Errol Barnett reports from Paterson, New Jersey. Then, CBS New York meteorologist Lonnie Quinn joins with the latest forecast.

Ill never ever forget the snow storm of 1993 in upstate NY. I walked to my school bus stop with snow up to my shoulders on both sides of the sidewalk 😮😮 Halloween that year was pretty much ruined because of the heavy snow fall. My joints cant take that kind of cold anymore. Luckily we barely get any snow in SC 😊

If you get stuck on a highway make sure you’re prepared with extra gas, food water snow shovel. There are hand warmers available. Better safe than sorry

I used to live in the Northeast and would get all stressed out before a big winter storm. Now, I just sit back and love watching these winter storm videos from my home in Phoenix, AZ. 🤣🤣🤣
I live in north Virginia and they are calling less than an inch of snow. There was more snow a month ayo and no weather chanel mentioned it. 😂

I live in Maine not far from Portland and our local weather is only calling for 3 - 4 inches.
As a Bostonian we haven't had a real storm in a decade. Our last real winter was 2013. We get a couple of dustings every year.

I grew up on Long Island and remember many snowstorms.
Have lived in Florida more than 25 years. Do not miss snow at all.
Now have to worry about hurricanes.
Hurricanes are really scary. I love snow when I Don't have to go out in it.

I’m on the eastern tip of Maine, which looks like maybe 1-3/3-6 line, but none of the Maine meteorologists have had anything above 10” for Portland. I also don’t get the hysteria behind a snow storm, I mean, we live here, we know what winter is like. Must get hammered with snow up where you are, lucky! Stay warm up there!

One summer time weather man said, there won't be a drop of 🌧️ so dont bother with ☔☔☔ in the afternoon, in blink of an eye, there were pitch black 🌧️🌧️🌧️ it went from dark to pitch black, 🌬️🍃🌬️🍃🌬️🍃 was taking huge trees down. Rain flooded streets of old town. I was in outside cafeteria, I had to sit on table top.. Rain was pouring like 🚿🚿🚿 I was soaking wet, even under canopy. It lasted for 2hours, and then like nothing ever happened. ☀️☀️☀️ So, that was weather man, with his 100% not a rain 💧💧💧

Its hilarious that on the map we have labels "New York, Buffalo, Boston, and Presque Isle" . Presque Isle huh? Anybody know anybody who lives in Presque Isle? So here in Maine we have Portland, Bangor, Augusta, and Lewiston/Auburn as our major cities and so we're going to label the tiny little town of Presque Isle on there instead. Hilarious!
