Yeah, I just hope mine doesn't degrade in colour on the skin. After I made the video I saw a thread on sideshow freaks forum where some collectors had really bad colour changes on the rubber. I'll keep and eye out.
@@KoolKollectibles That doesn’t sound good. I know that rubber and plastic will go through changes over time and that paint will eventually fade in color. I have a NECA T-800 figure that I’ve had for quite some time now and recently I discovered the weirdest thing on it. The «leather» jacket (actually soft rubber) is made up of a seperate part for the torso section. A while back I noticed that the torso part had faded into grey and I thought the figure was fucked, but then the weird thing happened. A few days ago when I had a look at it the grey had turned back into black again. Not sure what exactly that happened to it, but I’ve started to suspect that maybe the summer temperature have something to do with it(?). Oil is a component in rubber and plastic, and Im thinking that maybe the oil in the materials somehow «refreshed» the rubber. I’ve had a couple of other figures in the past that have turned sticky over time but thats not the case with this NECA figure. The rubber torso piece just somehow gained its color back. So here is what Im thinking about the issue these people have had with their Gollum figure. Can it be a result of changes in the temperature? If thats the case then you just have to be mindful of that and keep an eye on the figure.
@Eseres80 yeah, the response from Asmus from the complaints referred to temperature change issues in shipping. But many collectors said they kept the figure in a dark room, air conditioned etc so it's not clear how it was affected. Will keep an eye on mine over the next few months as seasons change.
Looks awesome! I think this is a must have figure for any LOTR collectors.
