    That is one weird egg! Love your videos. Did anyone else notice the warping of the video at the beginning and end? like it's zooming in a nd out

    This is April from Bismarck-changed my UA-cam name. Interesting video. Does your wife like you doing that on the kitchen table? 🤣 How's your son's car working out? Has he had to do any work on it yet?

      Hello April, oh my wife rolls her eyes anytime I work on her kitchen table, it's part of my plan of getting a heated shop one of these years.. it'll make sense to her if I keep on dragging projects on the kitchen table you know. : )
      My wife wrecked my sons car totally went off the ditch took off one side of the car. Yikes.. it was horrible. But everybody's OK. Thanks for watching good to hear from you folks.

    Ritchey tags are the best tags around! They are made in my hometown in Colorado and I am friends with the owners!

    Use a wood burning tool to put the numbers on. A lot less mess.

      I bought them from my vet supply store. If you cannot find them locally you probably could order them straight from the company. Let me know if you have any luck. If you don’t my supply store probably would send them to you.

      o ok.. i'll have 2 look around. i know my last vet place sold vet supply & he even worked on cows & smaller animals but he was killed about 2 weeks ago, so now we have to drive over an hr away to the new vet, im not sure what they sell.. im sure i could get them online as well. does ur supply store have a website??

    i have seen triple yoke eggs,,but not many,, do you use any other colors for your ear tags?

      All of the cows get yellow tags. Steer calves get white or red tags at branding normally. Heifers get yellow tags.

    Do they make them in the fly tags too

    • @BacktotheBasics101
      @BacktotheBasics101  5 років тому

      Not to my knowledge. Fly tags need to be replaced every year. These are made for long-term use.

    Great video like all I've watched so far. I have never seen or heard of those ear tags you engrave, but I am gunna try them.
    We have used pre engraved/printed tags and the first number on the tag is the momma cow and the second number is the calf she had. Example, 11 would represent number one cow and her first calf. Guess it works well in small herds but I think adding the year makes for a quick reference in the field/pens.
    Thanks for your time invested in these videos. It made me a bit more efficient in my farming and ranching.
