Omigosh, I moved to Detroit in 1966 and discovered Soul Music, and this is a group and a song that I heard there. I miss that time, that place, that sweet happiness of being 17 and looking forward to a future of happiness. That music promised so much. Thank you for uploading this.
People, people, people! What can I give but a rock-solid thumbs up on this one? Back in the days, a friend sent me this song on a compact casette. I was driving a truck delivering flour that summer - I remember the first time I put it on. I was stomping the floor of the cab to the beat like crazy. So good! And I sang along. Oh yes did I, oh yes, oh boy! I can tell you, a little less than five miles out of town, my voice was totally gone. Gone. All I had left was a faint whisper. A wonderful track. A fond memory..
I love many songs by the supremes but this one is obviously on of my favorites! I love when she says "but how many heartaches must I stand.. before I find a love to let me live again..."
The quality of this posting is amazing, and I am grateful to you for the care you took it uploading it. This is a wonderful song, and the performance by Ms. Ross is perfect in every respect, and the care given to the delivery of the relatively simple, but powerful lyrics made what would have been a hit into one of the group's biggest hits and most memorable recordings. Hearing the performance so clearly here makes it clear why it was such a huge recording. It is just one of the performances by the group and Ms. Ross as a solo performer that should have been awarded a Grammy. But, the Grammys were a very different enterprise at that time. Thanks again for the excellent posting.
Stereo effects were often exaggerated at the start of the technology, in the Sixties and Seventies. Later, they learned to blend the different channels (a lot) more.
I HATE waiting ._. I'm only 19, i know i'll go thru many relationships but i honestly know at the end, at my wedding? I will know it was worth the wait
On this day in 1966 {October 22nd} the Supreme's album "The Supremes A' Go-Go" peaked at #1 {for 2 weeks} on Billboard's Top 200 Albums chart... It was the first time an all-female group reached #1 on the Billboard's Album chart... Also on the same day it peaked at #1 {for 4 weeks} on Billboard's Top R&B Albums chart... Two tracks from the album made Billboard's Hot Top 100 Singles chart; "Love Is Like an Itching in My Heart" {#9} and "You Can't Hurry Love" {#1 for 2 weeks}...
iT WAS GREAT JUST TO HEAR FLO AND MARY'S HARMONIES. FOR YEARS I COULD NEVER MAKE OUT WHAT THE TWO GIRLS WERE SINGING. WHEN THEY HAD CASSETTE PLAYERS, I WOULD PLAY ONE VERSE OVER AND OVER BUT COULD NOT MAKE OUT WHAT THEY WERE SINGING. NOW I KNOW. BUT WAIT, UNTIL THAT DAY, LOVE DON'T COME EASY!
Here's a song parody I composed about Governor's opening their states prematurely in the carona pandemic. You Can’t Hurry, Gov ( sung to the Supremes You Can’t Hurry Love) There’s a Georgia Gov, That’s on my mind. He needs to drop his line: Asymtomatics are just fine. (chorus) Dr. Fauci said: You can’t hurry, Gov. Whoa, you just have to wait. Retail sales won’t be easy, And you’re giving corona a buffet plate. Yo, you can’t hurry, Gov. Foolishly tempting the fates, Corona will be breezing, Like Sherman marching through your state. “How much anxiety can I stand, Before I find dine-in eating, with friends again. Right now the only thing, that keeps me hanging on, My Netflix is paid up, and my nails are long”. Forget what the Governor said. (chorus) You can’t hurry Gov, No, it’s better to wait. You’re hubris is making us queasy, An ironic way of making America great. So don’t hurry Gov, Haircuts, nails polished can wait. Although they’ll look snazzy, At funerals, and in a vegetable state. “Now I can’t bear to see my commerce low, I’ve grown impatient for the accolades that I’m owed.” But when you see those dudes ,tootin’ guns and signs. The virus will render them into wilting vines. Remember, Dr. Fauci said: (chorus) You can’t hurry Gov , You’re opening floodgates, Opening shops much too early, In this instance, heaven can wait. You can’t hurry Gov, Lo how much your brash ego aches, Don’t be swayed by a flimflammer, Using you as corona’s bait. Now wait! Defeating corona, don’t come easy. Shelter in place and waiting, Anticipating, for that loss of breathe And that fever at night. Then a compassionate nurse To hold my selfie’s light. I keep waiting, Oooh, until that day, But it’s not easy(Gov it don’t come easy) Better than a traipse- your way. (chorus) You can’t hurry Gov, Save that 14 day date. Closing late, opening early, Will probably seal your political fate. You can’t hurry Gov. You’ll need lucky breaks, It’s not like the movies, Where you cut out the outtakes. You can't hurry Gov.
+PablitaPicasita PablitaPicasita dear, what IS your problem?! People are simply commenting on how they love classic Motown. I'll bet that you're an avid Eminem fan, aren't ya?! I dare say that you and lots of other young people would truly kick up a fuss if there were an ACTIVE DRAFT!! Come to think of it, perhaps an active draft is JUST WHAT WE NEED!!!

Music like this and much more are way better than the ones right now, sorry for the lovers of new generation music, but it is true.

+ArtsAndCrafts I wonder that as well.

How come this has so many fewer views than another version that's not nearly of the same quality? A travesty. Thanks for uploading.
this is one of my favorite songs
Beautiful:D
名曲ですね。歌っている人はカバーとかでなくてオリジナルですね。これが聴きたかったです。歌詞も付いてて助かります。

JUST LOVE IT!
I love how the main voice is on the right, then the background vocals and instrumental are on the left side of my device.
Man, Diana Ross and the Supremes taught us all about finding the right person when it comes to crushes
I HATE waiting ._.
I'm only 19, i know i'll go thru many relationships but i honestly know at the end, at my wedding?

Plug in headphones. Only listen to right ear. Singing without beat or music :O
I must of listened to this about 3 or 4 times cause I thought it was vocal only
Cool tip: Right headphone is acapella!
