❤ thank you for sharing! I'm not much of a fishing person but my dad loves fishing. It's healthy for him. He goes everyday and catches every season, and since he retired a few years ago, he has turned somewhat of a pro. lol. Or thinks thinks he is. it's a great hobby for him, and anyone at any age. I will certainly share this video with him.❤
Always nice to find a new and productive spot to fish. It sure does seem to be flip-flopping around with the weather here lately. I know it was a balmy 21 degrees here in the Piedmont this morning. As always, great to see you catching. Thanks.
Always enjoy your channel ! We fish a lot from belly boats here in the Colorado Rockies though Kayak fishing is really picking up steam. As a kid (1950's)we used to surf fish in the Salter Path area, we often caught a fish we called a grunt. Are they still around or are they called something else ? Popano were the ones we sought the most while we were happy to get flounder as well. BTW we are going to have a high today of - 3 F degrees , great fun. Merry Christmas !
A fishing guide in FL liked to use salted clam strips for surf pompano. He would buy the really big Quahogs then shuck them and pack the meat in salt for a couple of days. The meat toughens up enough that you can cut it into strips and it stays on the hook better.
You’re a great fisherman man. I’m mostly doing flyfishing (thus the name) As a former Brooklynite I relate to your channel. Started my own channel recently. I can only hope to have the chill vibes and success of your channel. Cheers!!
Your the best kayak fisherman I've ever seen, on that note please for the love of all get back on the water when you can!! I'm a fellow kayak fisherman and I live here in VA beach your my inspiration man!!
If you've only got small grip leads , Put an elastic band around the bottom it'll make the clip in a bit stronger , but still release if it gets hung up.
I would really like to know where you was fishing in this video. I fish most of NC coast and can't figure where your at? Love you content. I met a guy at Oak Island over the summer that told me to watch your channel. Been hooked since.
Like you, I thought the first red was a blue with all that head shake. Then I checked the pole when the fish hit the line and it didn't seem as a blue hit. Beautiful day without skates, sand sharks and kitties. A couple of blues but it is not so undesirable as the others above are. Thanks.
again great stuff...i like the beach fishing vids best cuz that's what i do most. It was obvious there was some current at the second spot; some proper, longer sand spikes (u gotta have a sponsor to get you some🙂) and longer rods would help a lot. The line would have a much steeper angle into the suds, so less line in the water= less drag, especially in current and wind. Just my 2 cents...thank you!
“The water is pretty cool, would be a good time to keep them” What’s the correlation with blue fish and cooler seasons va catch-to-keep in the summer/warmer months?
I wonder how the Blues would be well cleaned and pressure canned? I do the same with American Shad, most find them too smelly but if you fillet and skin, it's about like Herriing or Sardine.
If I told you I'm a lobbyist... would you Lemme go turn those silver drums into dinner? I'm going to bet there aren't any worms in the 8lb to 2lb fish.
@@EliasVFishing I definitely understand whiting and pompano...I LOVE Sheepshead but most people in these video throw Blues back like they are trash fish. It just perplexes me :)
Miami is the team all Yankees think of for Florida, we have 3 teams btw. But BUF will end up losing to KC again on the playoffs like they do every year there Adam

Man i thought the beach at oak island was small but this beach takes the cake on that
Wow Elias it is so strange to see you in waders and on land😮! Tight lines Brother!

Awesome to see you find some surf reds after like 7 trips and 70 skates.
Brother some nice fish on light tackle is always good fun.
Thank you Elias, good work
Hah, jud getting into surf fishing now? We are living in wild times

Good tip. I'll try it out!

In touch with your spirit animal.. the mighty blue
Like you, I thought the first red was a blue with all that head shake. Then I checked the pole when the fish hit the line and it didn't seem as a blue hit. Beautiful day without skates, sand sharks and kitties. A couple of blues but it is not so undesirable as the others above are. Thanks.
Thanks for watching!
This is th second time I ever saw you in waders :)
Nice video. Can't beleive the pompano and skate free!
You and me both!
Do you set your drag super light so that the fish don't feel when they bite, and then you tighten the drag for the hook set?
Yeah, there's a sweet spot of just enough pressure it'll set the hook in the rod holder actually. I tighten so it doesn't take all day to bring it in.
Yeah, that WAS a nice pompano. Surprised to see him catch it.
You got the patriotic slam, red whiting and blue
I do like that!
Love the videos!
Did you make those rod holders? If not do you have a link for them?
Island Tackle & Hardware in Carolina Beach sells them

What were you using for bait? shrimp or cut bait?
I am making a trip to obx in OCT to target reds, blues and specs.

Probably do ok. I like herring canned!
Thanks Elias
Elias, Merry Christmas. Looks like this new spot is a good one. Show us your da y ...Your Way. God Bless
I love catching bluefish good action and good eating
What size, and what recipe? Bled-out and Baked?
💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾🎣 I be ready for a video
Nice.
are you from NC? also bluefish are really good eating if you cook them right. kinda hurts to see you throw em free at such a good size
We prefer whiting, pompano, and drum for the most part at the house.
Did I miss it or did you see where you were fishing
NC
If I told you I'm a lobbyist... would you Lemme go turn those silver drums into dinner? I'm going to bet there aren't any worms in the 8lb to 2lb fish.
Red drum, Whiting and blue fish. Sounds like some patriotic fishing to me! Nice video.
Is that NC?
Yep
Elias how come you don't like blue fish . There oil is good for the heart.
Then you eat em !
I REALLY don't understand why people don't keep blues to eat, I think it's a great eating fish.
Nothing wrong with bluefish for eating but we prefer stuff like whiting and pompano.
@@EliasVFishing I definitely understand whiting and pompano...I LOVE Sheepshead but most people in these video throw Blues back like they are trash fish. It just perplexes me :)
nice location
LETS SEE IF HE GOES FRIDAY OR SATURDAY .
That’s pretty frigid stuff
Why don't you ever keep red fish? There good to eat and their plentiful
It’s abouta be in the 30’s here in Florida so I know it’s gotta be freezing up there
Yup we sent that back with the Dolphins for you. Lol GO BILLS !!!!!!!
Miami is the team all Yankees think of for Florida, we have 3 teams btw. But BUF will end up losing to KC again on the playoffs like they do every year there Adam
